Gaming Football Manager 2015

Just sold Danny Ings to Liverpool in my Shef Wed save. £34m. He's been doing pretty good for me, but I couldn't turn down £34m! (£25m upfront, the rest in add ons, which I will likely get within a year or so).

Slightly above-average Premier League player being signed for 4 times their value by Liverpool. SI have really nailed the realism in FM15.

Just lost 1-2 to Madrid, missed a penalty to level the score.

Siquiera just watched it roll past him afterwards...

Happens to me every year.

Go on a brilliant run and then get stuck in the match and have to quit and lose all of my progress.

Haven't played FM in years, but reading a few pages of this has made me want to start a season again.

Is it still worth me picking up this current version, or waiting for the next release?

New version won't be out until October/November so plenty of time yet.

I love it when the fixture list falls in your favour. Away games against City, Liverpool and Chelsea all out of the way by October. Home games against the same three done by February. Unfortunately it's Arsenal and not those 3 that i'm battling with for the title.

Right lads - Neymar, Bale or Hazard in the summer? I assume Bale will be cheapest and Neymar/Hazard will be a lot higher, but I need another world class player as I have too much youth in my team, so i'm willing to spend.

I had similar game going a couple of weeks back but had to restart because I didn't have licensed German team and it annoyed me. I signed Bale then for £40m, but since I don't want this game to go the exact same way as the last so i'm thinking one of the others.

Current team in second season is:

---------------------De Gea-------------------
Carvajal --- Marquinhos --- Jones --- Shaw
----------------Pogba----Modric------------------
Januzaj-------------Mata-----------Depay
---------------------Rooney-----------------------

Reserves: Blind, Dembele, Schneiderlin, Clyne, Smalling, Carrick, De Vrij, Kovacic, Kane, Wilson

I also need a decent backup keeper to De Gea, any suggestions?

How is he as a false 9? None of my strikers are scoring many goals there atm but my tactic works well and I don't want to change it.

Bale was shite for me. I think I only had him for two seasons at United before I sold him to Inter. He's now at City, the prick.

Do Man United go into ultra-muppet mode on anyone elses saves? I'm in my 2nd season with Shef Wed, now in the PL, and United have already scored 113 league goals, in 29 games. I just had a look at their starting line up in their last game:

De Gea
Alex Sandro
Hummels
Vertonghen
Rafael

Iniesta
Pogba
Di Maria

Mata
Ronaldo
Rooney

Bench: Victor Valdes, Phil Jones, Thiago Alcantara, Kevin Strootman, Memphis Depay, Falcao, Jackson Martinez.

Fellaini, RVP, Herrera and Rojo in the U21s because they can't get a game.

This is probably why they've scored 113 league goals. Ronaldo has scored almost half of them:

70 goals in 40 games. STUPIDITY. And stuff like this happens.

Typical United. Buying the league. Van Gaal is a chequebook manager etc.

Atletico Madrid - 2015/2016 Update

Squad

Not a great change from last year, trying not to unsettle the squad by making too many signings and sales.

GK - Oblak/Moya

LB - Siquiera/Gaya
CB - Godin/Gimenez
CB - Miranda/Gimenez
RB - Juanfran/Gamez

DM - Saul/Mario Suarez
CM - Koke/Gabi
CM - Turan/Oliver

RF - Griezmann/Januzaj
CF - Alcacer/Torres
LF - Depay/Correa

Januzaj was brought in on a season long loan, Oliver was recalled from a loan in January due to injuries.

Transfers

Well in the black this season with transfers, Bakkali arrived on a free and was duly loaned out. Alcacer was signed and Mandzukic was shipped out and Gaya was a January arrival after being transfer listed by PSG. Got rid of a lot of players but generally on free's so I'll just list the notable ones.

Incoming - Alcacer - £16.75m, Gaya - £7.25m, Bakkali - Free, Januzaj - Loan.
Outgoing - Bakkali - Loan, Oliver - Loan, Velazquez - Loan, Cerci - £5.5m, Alderweireld - £5.75m, Raul Garcia - £7.25m, Leo Baptisto - £12m, Mandzukic - £16.75m.

Domestic Cups/Europe

The curtain raiser (Super Cup) was once again retained by myself, thanks to a very tight 7-6 aggregate win over Barcelona.

The Spanish cup kicked off with a 5-1 aggregate win over Getafe followed by victories over Eibar, Athletic an notably Real Madrid in the semi's. Which then led once again to Barcelona in the final, hoping to avoid another hammering. All looked lost when they'd gone up 2-1 thanks to defensive errors which led me to make wholesale changes at HT, quickly followed by going down to 10 men with Miranda succumbing to injury. Rallied back to make it 2-2 and then during extra time when most were on there knee's we scored 2 more to win 4-2 overall!

Europe was slightly better then the 1st season but not by a lot, the group was won against Olympiakos, Porto and FC Kobenhaven. Not the greatest idea winning the group mind as it left me up against Dortmund in the 1st KO round, came through this after a 1st leg 1-2 loss by hammering them 5-0 at home. My reward for that was once gain another tie against Barcelona, they dominated me 3-1 in the 1st leg but the away goal gave me hope. A good display saw me eventually go 1-0 up in the 70th minute but I couldn't grab the 2nd to take me through.

League

Led from the start this time around but could never shake off Barcelona & Madrid. A lower points total then last year and I was weary of keeping a 6 point gap as I played both of them in the last few rounds of the league, a point gap I needed as I lost both games away. Thankfully I kept my excellent form up in the other games and won the league on the penultimate day, Barca coming 2nd and Madrid 3rd.

Thankfully got some much needed money in as they wouldn't upgrade anything due to lack of funds and even had my youth an training upgrades cancelled, they should be done within 6 months of starting the 3rd season. Also due to move into the new 70k stadium so that'll be a nice revenue increase, just need to work on getting the attendance up as it was only around 88-90% off the current 54k capacity stadium.

How on earth did you manage to get Adnan Januzaj on loan!? He is a crucial player for them.
Just kept checking the loan market as needed some depth an there he was, even better that they was no monthly fee and I was only paying 30-40% of his wages as well!

Where's Messi in the score charts?

That's fecking insane

About to complete the 2nd season at United. CL final vs Barca. Praying I win it, need a CL win before I go off to a small club.

Well that is a shitty group for me... how the feck are Liverpool in the group anyway? They didn't win the Europa.

So has anyone actually played a single match of FM 15 without getting an injury?..

Seems impossible for me at the moment.

Lost the final 1-0. Very bad goal to concede too. Pique's clearance ended up falling to Suarez :(. RVP hit the post too.

Just getting in game injuries or ones outside matches?

All in game injuries.

I'm playing with Bromley in the Vanarama Conference South, so I'm not expecting my players to be the most fit athletes in the world, but saying that, I must be averaging an injury a game.

Do you monitor player conditioning before games? I've read that the game is much more detailed when it comes to injuries. Unlike earlier versions, if you play players inspite of poor conditioning, they get injured more often than not. Its the same with players returning from injuries. You need to play them in gradually rather than starting them right off the bat. Training shouldnt be set at heavy either.

It's awful for injuries. My first choice CB has just got injured in training and out for 3-4 weeks. No worries because my back up had just come back to full fitness and I don't have a game for 17 days, the next day he gets and injured and is out for 7-9 weeks  I'm scraping the barrel most of the time and entering games with 3 players on the bench, due to injuries.
