Gaming Football Manager 2014

Won the league, and the cup, met expectations in the Europa, job is "stable" and my contract is nearly up, without the board showing any inclination of offering me an extension.

Also, looks like a takeover could happen in the coming weeks, meaning I'll miss most of the summer transfer window, if I'm even still at the club. I have a lot of moves already in place though, youth and such.

What year are you in?

I'm halfway through the season and am in 7th, two points off 4th and 6 off the title. My defence is absolutely woeful and Sturridge seems to miss sitter after sitter (he still scores a lot). Mignolet, Lovren, Skrtel and Johnson all will be sold. Cole's contract runs out at the end of the season too. Moreno and Sakho have been a good base though.

Just finished the first, they offered me a new one with six weeks to go, tidy, and somehow I'm allowed to get about transfer business(Facundo Cardozo ) while the take over is taking place. Usually there'd be an embargo.

I find my defences are always more solid if I have an oldie in there, like Vidic. Of course you have a better keeper on the way back from loan than Mignolet, or you could relatively easily land Valdez.

Consortium targets FC Red Bull Salzburg Takeover.
The Fussballclub Red Bull Salzburg board have placed an embargo on transfers.....

Thank feck I got Cardozo, he was my priority, though I do need to shift some non-Euro players to make places, and bring in a DM, or two,

6 games to go and I need to win 5 of them to win the Serie A with Napoli, making it 2 in 3 seasons and hopefully an Italian Cup too. Contracts up at the end of the season so I'll move on then, hopefully to Monaco/Atletico/Leverkusen or the likes.

Playing this at the moment:

Been killing Serie A since I changed to it, but unfortunately its been a bit dodgy in Europe. Hopefully once I put some better players in it'll tighten up.

Also, I've rarely if ever seen my GK get as high ratings. Valdes got 8.5 in one game where there only had 2 shots on target. I have him set to pass short and distribute to the center halves so he must be getting a high rating with good passes or something.

I stuck Reina at Napoli for realism and Valdes has already signed with someone. :(

Still in the transfer window, consortium pulled the plug.

Star striker wants out, the only quality replacement I can really afford/interest is Michy Batshuayi but he wants (relatively) huge wages. I can just about squeeze a deal though.

Could get Gudetti on loan, but I don't trust him after the other save. Options kinda slim.....

Verratti's a beast on this, been keeping Vidal out of the team for most matches. Llorente seems to be unstoppable aswell, never really used Target Men before this FM but they seem to be my best bet on this one.

Do you think if I bought him my merchandise sales would go through the roof with 1D fans buying my kits?
Nah I tried it a few months ago, nothing happened.

Pah. I was joking initially, but then thought it might be a sort of Easter egg that's added in. Sadly not.

Ended up winning the league on 77 points. We won against all of the top 6 except for one loss at Old Trafford. We also won the capital one cup.

I've sold Mignolet, Lovren and Skrtel replacing them with Ter Stegen for 10m and Varane for 21m. I've also sold Enrique and Aspas and am yet to sell Lambert, Johnson, Kelly, Borini, Allen and Alberto. The latter three had excellent seasons on loan so they'll hopefully fetch quite a bit. I've also brought in Kroos and Lukaku who were transfer listed. I really need a right back, but I'll be unable to do any business until I sell more players.

Don't rush to ditch Borini, he's often very good, and can become a star for Italy.

Quite a few saves end with Barca throwing big money at him.

He had a stormer pf a season last year at Swansea in my game. 11 goals and 11 assists in 33 games. With Lukaku and Sturridge he won't get games though. I've sold him to Lazio for £8m with a £14m buyback clause.

Since my So'ton save crashed, I went back to my Celtic/Porto/Dortmund save. Just took the Madrid job after 8 years at Dortmund. Needed a new challenge before taking the United job. I also want to manage a top international team but my God those chances are hard to come by. Got 5 job offers in the span of a month - United, Arsenal, Athletico, Real, Bayern.

OK so started at Yeovil, no resources or good players. I was hoping for a long run and to really drive them towards to pinacle of English football. In my first season I managed to avoid relegation but during my second season I had a very poor start and the scale of the task hit home. I resigned. I still feel bad but i hope to way day return to finish what I started. I just didn't feel I could commit 5 years to them. I took a couple of championship jobs at West Ham and Birmingham to try boost my cv with a prompt promotion. I failed to win promotion at either but I just about met expectation. At this point I was down. I took a break from the game and motorcycled through America for a year. Come May I was eager to get back into the game. I applied for a job at Torino who were recently promoted to serie A. I was lucky enough to be a given a chance in the top flight and I was pleasantly surprised to find they had 30 million in the bank and a 5 million transfer budget. Despite this, my time at Yeovil taught me how important financial control was. I stuck mainly to free transfers and managed to finish 16th in my first season. The club are well run and this resulted in a rise of 10 million in the balance books. Again I stuck to free signings and the odd cheap 2/3 million youngster. In the following years I have made sufficient progression finishing 12th, 8th, 10th and I'm currently 6th in December. The club has 50 million in the bank due to my tight wage control, although it's possible this may have slowed the club's progression. I'm hoping to get into Europe before I make and significant investment but I have a wealth of young talent already at the club.

I managed to finish 5th in La Liga with Zaragoza come the end of 2018-2019, well above my expected finish of 17th, and resulting in Europa League football. Trouble is, the finanacial gains of European football are given at the end of the following season and my squad can't handle the fight on both fronts. I made it out of the group stage, having been given a relatively easy group with Standard Liege, PSV and Hibs but I'm now 14th in La Liga and only a few places from the drop. My main, and pretty much only striker, is a regen I picked up for £2.5m from Bahia, has banged in 50 goals in 60 games and is now worth £15m and is wanted by Juve, Barca and Bayern.

Season 2 is going really well for Salzburg. Lots of players moving about leaves me with less Austrians than I'm really happy with, but far more quality.

Alan left, as did Reyna, Assuncao said he needed a big offer, as he didn't fancy playing for us, so off the old cnut went, rather than struggling for an extension. Schiemer went for way more than he's worth, as did Umer, Gulasci and Schwegler.

Incomings were fantastic, Batshuayi(despite the difficulty), Facundo Cardozo(1 year, need to try and up that soon), Benoit Costil(free, ridiculous), a decent full back that had been arranged before the start of the game, Eric Ti-Bie(free, backup for now), some top youth and most notably of all, somehow Allan Nyom(2.8m, listed...)! Such a fecking good wingback/fullback, well beyond my level, and on half the wages of Batshuayi.....

EDIT: Unbeaten in 10 in the league(9 wins), flying in the cup, and 2nd in my group in the CL, though it's only two games in. I expect an Europa place, but it matters little, making the group was my target.

I'm in a game in which I took over Debrecen and basically just want to win the CL and make Hungary a top league. Currently in 2027 and the Hungarian league is up to 10th, not too bad I guess. I've only ever reached the semi's of the CL although I did win the Europa League once before. The team is way too good for the league that bar maybe one season it's been ridiculous easy.

My DOF inserted release clauses in my two star signings' new contracts, which were instantly met by both Man City and Barca/Real/Bayern respectively.

£38.5m net profit though from them, which has done the club wonders in terms of financial strength, and although my transfer revenue was appalling, seeing those two sales alone chance the financial position from "okay" to "secure" is a beautiful thing.

For the greater good, I guess.

That's pretty much what I'm attempting with Salzburg, I'm only in my 2nd year though! The league has gone up four places, and we have a 2nd CL spot as of next year.

It's such a pain when you see the other teams from the nation to terrible in Europe and ruin your work. Currently got 2 CL places and 3 EL places though so hopefully a few can start to do decent.

Half way through November, Diarra out for the season, Lazaro(one of my all too rare useful Austrians) out for 5 months, GGR out for a few weeks(very injury prone, if a bid comes in, it'll be considered). Guess what, takover talks, transfer embargo. Hopefully it's well sorted before January so I can make necessary moves. Two important mids short is hard with a European schedule. Krygiakos is retiring end of season too, was thinking of bringing his replacement, or a loan in in January, and offering him a coaching job.

For some reason, Sebastien Druissi won't be granted Spanish nationality. He's been in the country 768 days and only needs 730 days to be granted nationality, but for the last 38 days it's been "awaiting paperwork".

Just lost my first game in the league. Freaking pissed, not much I could do though. :(

Between injuries, and a lot of tired key players 3 days ahead of a Schalke game that could see us into the next round of the CL(Europa sealed), I had to play a lot of kids, 4 youth team players aged 17, 16, 16, and 15. The 15 year old was excellent though(high, high potential 6'6 striker), and assisted a goal, thought the comeback was on then.
