Gaming Football Manager 2014

Inter have so many injury prone players. They start off with a few long term injuries. But then Cambiasso, Palacio, Ricardo Alveraz all do their cruciate!

My work is done.

Salzburg's a good game if you're bored, it's something different and the league should be relatively easy but Europe will be a challenge as you won't have money rolling in every year. They have a quality squad aswell, always end up raiding them when I'm with other teams, especially for Kampl, Maine & Soriano + some of the youngsters.

Cheers, that's a good shout, and I've already done one of the RB clubs(Leipzig). Shouldn't be too easy to pretty much be rolling in worldies in a season or two either.
Jesus, their squad begins pretty raped. Five first teamers out, two for the season, and your top prospect out too, one who could have moved up.
Sold Soriano too, he was going to be second choice in a one striker system, and the money was handy, despite only getting half.

Still, so far the transfer window has bee relatively kind to me, almost had Boyata too, but Southampton decided to Chelsea me, even offered him a key player role....

Kyrgiakos will be excellent rotation, might be slow as a glacier(still faster than Demichellis), and not great over all, but all the right stats are very high, and he'll make a great tutor too. Assistant rates him 3*, 2.5* as a standard CB, but that's bollocks.
Assuncao, a fine Anchorman, well better than current options. Another good tutor.
Ibertsberger, cheap cover for either full back spot, Austrian.
Maierhofer, cheap second choice striker(unless I pick up another before the window closes), Austrian, great tutor.
Diarra, well he's quite brilliant, can play as my Anchor, DLP, or CM(a), and yet another quality tutor.

fecking shit. My So'ton save just crashed. Thats that I guess. Need a new team to start with. Any good suggestions? Challenges in the top tier? Already tried my hand in France, England and Germany. Spain and Italy are there or maybe even Russia or Holland?

Alright lads, finished all my uni coursework so I'm gonna get back into this. I have two main saves - a United one (2018/19 season, where I've won everything and it's a bit boring to be honest) and a PSV save I started around Christmas - about half way through the first season but enjoying it, a lot of talented youngsters about.

Not sure whether to start a new save though. Because it's been about 6 months since I've played it, I don't really want to go back to a current save as it'll take me a while to remember what I was doing. No idea who to start with though...

So'ton and Tottenham are good challenges. Or start of with someone like Celtic and make your way up.

I find that if I lead by 4-5 goals in the first half, I almost always never score more than 2 in the second half.
Only ended up winning 14-0 so yeah, same. Hit the woodwork 4 times in that second half though. It was against some team from Tunisia who lost 6-0 against some African team in the 3rd place game so they just weren't good at all. Never won by that much though. 4 people got hat tricks

Atalanta's a good game in Italy.

I think I'm going to go for one of the Milans and see if I can bring in young players and make them good once again.

Gerard Pique
Height: 6'4"
Heading and Jumping Reach: 14
Goals in the last 3 games against me: 9 (all from corners)

Just brought this off steam. Currently £8.75 if anyone is interested. Its currently 14.3.1 on the main screen however when I start a new game it only lets me use 14.3.0 database, is that correct? Also where I can find the latest transfer update?

Is this worth getting, haven't seriously played Football Manager since 2008? Also just to be sure before buyind it does anyone know if it will work on Mac, Snow Leopard 10.6.8?

Looking for a cheap but majestic CB, I had a early bid for Balanta, but his wage demands meant I couldn't nab him, now I'm a bit more flush, River won't accept a bid...

I actually considered Florentin Pogba, cheap as chips, and while not mega, should develop into some kind of decent player. He's a better full back if you have the patience, or need, to convert him.

How many years in are you?

I rate Jannik Vestergaard. He has low acceleration but decent pace (15 at 2018 in my game), he's 6'6", and has high composure, positioning and anticipation which is what I look for in my proactive centre back.

About one month, but one of my CB's wanted to feck off, and needs replacing.

Vestergaard isn't in my database, sadly.

I could get Thiago Cassola, lot of money for a practically undeveloped player, though!

Well decided to start with Zenit in my new save. Probably stay for a year or maximum two years before moving to Italy.

Top CB. Signed him in my Leipzig save. Comes cheap too, must have paid a mil or 2 max. Kept him for 2 seasons and sold him off to Lyon for 35mil

EDIT: 20mil, not 35. Thought it seemed way too much. Checked.

I love how my caf feud is with the Match Engine, I have two things to report. Unnecessary corners have come back, and with a vengence. They are even WORSE than before! Again, its full backs and defenders being the the most likely culprits. They could easily pass to another player but just kick it out for a corner, also I have seen players when defending a long ball or whatever, head the ball back into the danger zone! I mean what the feck!

Thinking of buying this. How long will it take to install bearing in mind that I have a piss poor internet connection?

How are Liverpool on this game?

Usually gets 3rd to 8th somewhere in my saves. I think the ratings for a few players are a bit off though. I like to boost Rodgers a bit in the editor, because he ends up getting fired way too often.

Has this happened to anyone else? My United save has crashed about 3 times so far, losing a fair bit of game time each. So much so that I've only racked up 60 hours of game time on this years one. Bit of a shame really.

Apart from one save game crashing and becoming unplayable which cost me half a season I had no problems this year. That being said I'm super cautious and save a lot usually because older FM versions used to crash on me all the time. I try to save twice a months now and make a backup save game every new season, used to be every half season but that seemed a bit overkill.

I can't say I've ever had a problem before this years. I added all the face packs and logos this year, I don't know if that has affected it at all.

I maintain 3 rolling saves :nervous:

Never seen a board that's understanding before....

Of bigger concern than my slightly early CL exit, is a 2 month layoff due to an ankle sprain to my record signing Gaston Gil Romero.

It was a massive mistake to set my experience to minimum.

I'd like a holding midfielder, I want ideally a top quality CB but I imagine that's going to be hard on the cheap. In order I'd like:

A centre-back
Holding-Midfielder
A more offensive creative midfielder
A left-back
A right back
A left winger
A back-up forward

Not much I know, first 3 definite priority.

Look at Mahamadou Diarra(DM/CM), free agent, Anthony Reveillere at Napoli(right back), 170k give or take(free pre update), Mohamed Diame at West Ham, if you can scrape 3.5m together(release clause), Krygiakos is a great CB, but at your level I guess only as a back up. Rugani is worth looking at, 2m split between teams, if you don't mind a player needing development, and Man Utd haven't yet snagged him.

EDIT: You can of course get Balanta for 3-7m, but I dunno if he'll go for Villa. Top quality, and will happily cover at both LB and DM.

Cheers, got Vestegaard, Balanta and Romero on the shortlist, I can dream.

Safe to say, Salzburg are doing well, 8 league games, 6 wins, 2 draws, despite awful tactical familiarity. 1 cup game, 1 win, a draw and a loss against Arsenal, and as I dropped to the Europa because of that, in my first, and hardest game of the group, a took Udinese apart 0-4 in the Friuli.

Of special note is young Brazilian striker Alan, 10 goals in 6 league games, and a brace against Udinese.
