Gaming Football Manager 2014

Theres nothing like a good cup run with a small club to boost the profits  When winning in the cup actually matters each round!

Started off with Porto in my 'win title in each of the top 6 leagues' save and walked the first season. Ended up holidaying most of the second half cause it was a waste of time playing the games. Left at the end of the season and after getting rejected by Getafe and the likes, ended up taking over Napoli at the end of November with them in 16th spot. Its been mental since then, with the following record:

Now top of the table by 5 and into the quarters of the Europa league. I dont really plan on staying here much longer, maybe see how I get on in the CL next year and then if Monaco/PSG/Dortmund are available I'll hop there. Its kinda great knowing I'll only be here for a few more years, so I dont need to waste time on trying to improve the facilities/sign the next best 15/16 year olds. Plan to finish at United, hoping they'll be shite by that time and I can rebuild them.

I played an eastern european team, and EVERY member of the starting line ups name's ended with IC

Decided to go for a challenge, so took over Inter Milan. Had a look at the likes of AC, Fiorentina, Napoli & Roma but chose the most difficult. They are by far in the worst financial health and squad depth.

Things looking up though got the youth facilities and junior coaching upgraded, had a £5m transfer budget so asked for an increase. Expected to get work with what your given or we can't provide the funding.....gave me £30m to play with

Here's my strongest team when everyone's fit.

GK - Handanovic
LB - Nagatomo
CB - Juan Jesus
CB - Doria
RB - Zanetti
CM - Guarin
CM - Cambiasso
LAM - Hernanes
CAM - Kovacic
RAM - Palacio
ST - Icardi

Bench: Campagnaro, Ranocchia, Wallace, Romero, Taider, Alvarez, Milito.

Should be enough for me to get a good finish this season, should have a lot moving around 2nd season. The likes of Milito, Cambiasso, Zanetti and a few others are all going on free's which will free up a good £500k wage budget. Then will have a few loanee's returning that will be in the 1st team, hopefully I'll get a competitive transfer budget so I can buy some more prospects as well.

Second season in charge with Roma. Won the first game at home to Inter, lost the second game away to Juventus... 7-0  I couldn't blooming believe it. I had my best CB missing but still whatever I tried I just couldn't stop them scoring it was ridiculous. 1 of their strikers scored 5

That's the worst defeat I think I have had on any football manager ever.

So, after getting the arse at Nest-Sotra, I started again, going to Elfsborg first up.

8 games in and top of the league by 9 points. Marvellous

That's my hometown team  Although all the players are fake, you will get something like that against any team Bosnia or Serbia unless they buy foreign players.

Without doubt the most frustrating game I have ever played! I don't know what is wrong with my United side they just don't seem to play well in any game for me. I brought in players like Morrison and Pogba into the team but they look clueless. I usually set up to Control with a Fluid system but it doesn't work and I struggle to create chances and just about gain a draw out of most games even against the likes of Huddlesfield

And then when I switch to counter, standard, attacking, other teams just batter me off the pitch. I use to be good at these games once upon a time!

Seing as Kagawa is bringing in 3 times the revenue in shirt sales compared to any of my other players, I've been doing abit of Woodward'ing and been poaching a few Asian players to cash in on as well as trying to get a few feeder clubs over in Asia to increase my profile. It's been working a treat, with alot higher revenue the last two years :D

Screenshot of your tactics?

I didn't know they were fake! :( But wow what a coincidence, I assumed they were Russian or something! I beat them 3 nil, they were easy.

How do you create a screen shot mate?

There'd be a printscreen button in your keyboard. press it in your tactic screen. then open paint and ctrl+v. save. upload on photobucket. get it here.

If that's too much work, you could just type the formation and roles here.

Just got the FM14 demo off Steam, and planning to buy it in a few days. Any tips for someone starting up?

I now got way too many Japanese and American players in my squad due to me and my quest for making me the biggest brand in the world. They're all shite aswell

I've followed a few of the tutorials, and I've now got to pick a team.
I'm thinking I'd like a team in the midtable, where I can work on a smaller budget first, and not have the demands of CL football. Some team in the top 12 would do. Suggestions?

Really depends IMO how you want to play and the type of players you want to start with. If your going to be attempting to play good football Southampton might not be a bad choice for a new starter.

Southampton is always a good team to play on FM.

I'm already hooked on Swansea. I think I'm learning quickly now. How does the game progess timewise?
Ie how long does it take a day to pass?

I always end up packing my squad with both world class players and huge talents, and have no idea how to fit them all in. I might have to have a clear out in the summer, as always, though the squad is more or less perfect right now bar Yaya and Robben which I'm getting rid of this summer..
