Gaming Football Manager 2014

I think we just scored one of the stupidest own goals ever. Sergio Ramos slowly rolled it back to Casillas from the halfway line and Casillas just stood there as it rolled past him and in.

Fecking Numancia are absolute cnuts

Injured 3 of my best players in one game.

I respond with a 6-0 away thrashing of Celta. Take that you cnuts!

My start...

Finally won the league with Sheffield, scoring 100 odd goals on the way. Next task is to win it with the two at the back formation I used the odd time in the easy home matches, with good results. Probably get destroyed against decent opponents, but might as well try, otherwise I'll lose all interest.

I've just realised that my record as a United-manager has been pretty damn terrible

In four seasons I've won the PL once as well as 3 Community Shields. Chelsea has been incredible and beyond stoppable. So far I've played 30 games, one loss and yet Chelsea keeps up. Mourinho is rumoured to leave at the end of this season though, might be my best chance to establish myself as the dominant side in the PL..

He's 38 ATM.

Found a good Portugese CAM available for 6.5 Million. Had 0 budget left but 1.6 Mil wages available.

I ask for an increase in budget, they game me 150 million

Also just lost to Valencia 4-2. The first player out the door when I arrived was an injury ravaged Timo Werner to, you guessed it, Valencia. Fecker got a hat trick!

Might start a save now and try win the league in the 5 major leagues. Problem is, I usually get too attached to a team and don't want to leave. Hopefully that wont happen if I'm at a big club cause I wont feel too attached since I wont have brought them from a few tiers below. Any ideas to start? Would prefer it not to be too hard to win the league, and not a team in England or Spain. Was thinking Monaco, or maybe even Benfica or Porto and then making it 6 leagues.

I don't get it, I got into the champions league, yet I have an initial budget of 5 million pounds!!!! Apparently we had to pump 15 mil into debts, but what debts! We made 20 plus million in profits!

Hala Madrid!

Made it to the Quarter Finals of the COC, was getting big for my boots, thought I could make Bradford PA like Bradford City(who I'm still a feeder for, despite being two leagues above them now..." and make the cup final from a lower league.

Drew Man Utd, so that dream is over. Though they're 10th in the league and Guardiola is on thin ice....

Soo.. Me and Chelsea, 1 point seperating us, both on a 20 game unbeated streak and both teams at the very end of the season. The title decider against the two strongest teams in the world, and everything seems to point to a close encounter.

Half time: 5-0 Chelsea
Full time: 8-0 Chelsea.

Love it.

YES! FU Chelsea!! Won the league with a single point after my sub scored in the 82nd minute away to Newcastle after having two goals ruled out  feck sake, this game brings out the worst in me!

Need a top 10 with Fulham this season. I'v got an outstanding front 4, but don't trust what's behind.

So, update on my season. I came fourth, United miraculously won the league by a single point as Chelsea somehow bottled it. Now I'm in the Champions league, somehow with limited funds, trying to create a big enough squad to handle the games. I need a centre back, preferably in his mid 20s.

4th year into the game with Southampton and Im having a great season. After 22 games Im in second with 47 points and Stoke City (YES, STOKE and NO I DIDNT make a mistake typing that) are in first with 52 points. Mourinho just got fired from United, who are in 7th. If you were me, would you take the United job? I mean I have a great project going with So'ton but given that United are in 7th, that is a challenge as well getting them to finish around the top 4.

WTF

8-0... I'd have deleted the save and probably thrown the computer out of the window. Kudos to you for keeping the faith and winning the league.

Finally took over United in my longterm save. Was using Milan these last few years waiting for it to become available and then I applied right away. They've got a ridiculous team currently, but not only that, they have a shit load of money, but great youngsters coming through.
I want to satisfy my inner transfer muppet and buy players, but there aren't many to improve the first team, and even though I can afford them, I don't want to spend over 40m on players, but then I also want to develop the youngsters...First world problems
Transfer budget of 154m left after I already spent 60 million, bringing in Pogba for 40 and then a regen right back. Also a wage budget of 3 million. It's not even fair

Anyways, so far on this save I won Ligue 1 with Montpellier, won the Bundesliga (x2), DFB-Pokal, DFL-Supercup, Europa league and Champions league with Bayer Leverkusen, won the champions league, copa del ray and Liga BBVA with Atletico Madrid, won the European cup with Netherlands, then won the Serie A, italian cup and the supercup, and Champions league with Milan. Only now did United offer me the job. Next goal is to win the world cup with somebody while I'm using United from now on.

Spent 2.5 years at Montpellier, 3 years at Leverkusen, 1 year at Atletico (they gave me like 100m transfer budget right off the bat), 2 years at Milan before taking over United.

A couple of seasons into a game with Toulouse. Had a very underwhelming first season finishing in mid table after changing tactics constantly to try and get something to click. However, second season went much better and we were flying towards the end. Got nowhere near Marseille who have run away with the title in both seasons but finished well above expectations, partly due to the signing of Jesus Datolo who was absolutely sensational playing as a number 10.

Second season signings (only really Villalba & Antonelli of note in the first):

As you can see, don't have much money to throw around but hopefully we can earn some decent money from the CL and get another top 4 finish.

Horrible to see my Göteborg team being dismantled now by some prat.
Happened to my Walsall team, the season I got champions league football with Southampton they got relegated to league one, yet that team had mostly championship level players and had great potential. Shocking. Now all the best players will be gone, and they'll probably drop down again. Shame, but I had no chance in the premier league, as the chairman did nothing to give me more money! Same with this Chairwoman currently, we made a healthy profit, yet I could only spend 16 mil if I transferred money from the wage bill. Urgh, so stingy.

Oh and I forgot to mention in my post above, Lionel Messi is still getting above an 8.0 average rating, scoring over 30 goals a season and still winning the Ballon d'Or despite being 35 (won it all but once, finishing second behind Oscar randomly)

Not looking great for me right now. Played Athletico H&A, Sociedad too. Barca is 3rd last game. Need to improve but I can do it!

Well I have build a sensational team for St. Pauli but I'm still thinking about leaving them after 10 years at the end of the season and taking over Manchester United if they offer me the job. They are a full blown mid table team in my save game and have a hard time even getting into the CL and I already know rebuilding them will be a hell of a challange, especially with Conte's City being the team to beat.

Also having to face my St. Pauli team in Europe isn't a thing I'm really looking forward too.

Really? He has sucked in every single game I have started in FM14 so far never winning any honors and barely getting 20 goals a season in all competitions. Mata and Hazard are often winning the Ballon D'Or in my save games.

Yeah I feel like it's rigged. Januzaj is amazing in the game but at the age of 26 or 27 he still hasn't gotten into the top 3 once, mata getting second place a few times. Even Neymar only got top 3 once.

My games are definitely not boring. Just beat Bilbao 7 - 3 away from home.

Also had a 7 - 2, 7 - 0 and a 6 - 4.

January 2020

Today is a say day for Bradford Park Avenue, and mostly one of my own making. Due to a dispute with me over deserving a new contract, Andreas Pereira requests a transfer, and leaves the club under a black cloud. He joins Stoke and their new skipper Neil Lennon at the bottom of the Championship, for 4.8m, he was valued at 3.3m, so not bad business.

The black cloud has a few silver linings though, I do have an alternate AMC ready to step up and become Bradford's new No. 7, of equal but different qualities, and possibly higher potential, young Argentine playmaker Andrés Pisani.

Pisani_zps0418c504.png

Now, it's the 2nd silver lining, that's the major one. The bones of 5m has pushed me incredibly safe from FFP, and left me with a relatively massive transfer budget. Now there was a player, who I have been watching at Shakhtar for years, more in a dreamy googly eyes way, as I didn't think there was any chance of getting such a player(I have a few players like this in my shortlist like Januzaj). A player for a position I was severely underwhelming, and knew I needed upgrading if I stay the course and make the Premiership. A goalkeeper, one of immense quality, and even more potential!

Wouldn't you know, his contract was up in six months, came up in my inbox the day after Pereira was listed. Now, I clicked, expecting a red [not interested] box, but he was willing for me throw an offer at him, but I didn't, as a lot of much, much bigger clubs wanted him on a free, ntably moneybags PSG. I used my new windfall and splurged on an instant transfer bid(surprised no other club followed suit...). Despite his availability, I spaffed the most Bradford have ever on a player, probably as much as every other player in the last 7 years combined, 3m(valued at 2.3), albeit it only cuts 1.1m from this seasons budget because of clauses.

Now I just need a 2nd choice AMC, got an English striker on loan that is accomplished there, he'll never be great, but I could recall him. Perhaps I'll do a bit of looking about, though I was cutting a tight squeeze on homegrown, and Pereira was one of them......

An Attacking Mid is pretty much a CM pushed up the pitch, solid hard worker and drops into midfield when defending, an Advanced Playmaker is going to be moving about, looking to slip killer balls through and such, more likely to sit ahead of midfield defending, to provide an outlet. Depending on your setup, I'd imagine AP or even Trequartista might be best.

Just had a mad balls crazy game against Bolton. They scored an OG 16 mins in, a freaky equalizer(one of them attempted crosses that somehow goes in) on 24 mins. Second half comes along quietly, only for one of their guys to be sent off on 79th minute. One of my guys dragged off injured on the 86th. They foul one of my players in the box on the 90th, peno calmly panenka'd by my young Chinese striker. On the 93'rd minute, last man back hacks down my other striker a Chelsea reject(who has immense potential.....), 2nd fellow off. Pereira cracks the post on the ensuing free kick, only for said reject to slot home the rebound. 1-3 win.
As far as I can tell an Advanced Playmaker relies less on pace and doesn't need a work rate as high. An AP needs to be better off the ball and have better anticipation too.

Thanks guys. Was playing him as an AP, will continue to do so.

The Leipzig save is starting to get boring though, far too good a team now. Still, too early to quit and have quite a few young players coming through so I'l hang around. Have 35mil and 350k in wages in the bank and nothing to do with it

Just noticed I have a net transfer spend of about 7mil in my 4 seasons at the club. From 3rd division to treble winners and still at a total wage bill of 35mil

I wouldnt. Too early imo. 3 seasons is nothing, you'l get them on the top in 2 years max and it'l again get boring.

Ah, the new season has arrived. Reigning champions Man Utd got a £100m budget to blow over the summer, and indeed it was all spent well.

Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and a few regens were aquired, and the squad and first XI was stronger than ever. Surely this was the time to finally challenge for the Champions League, or even the FA Cup? And behold, 5 games into the season, the mighty Man Utd is currently 9 points behind motherfecking, cocksucking Chelsea and is on a streak of 5 games without a win. Ah, this is surely our year.

Oh, and I had a meeting telling the players not to let their heads drop due to their terrible performances so far, and they got angry because the idiots felt they were doing very well. We're not fecking Arsenal, guys! We're supposed to have some ambition. Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime..
