Gaming Football Manager 2014

Just signed this kid, lets hope he's not like the other Pato

Kept clicking the pick a club thing until i got a BS team. Got Vauxhall. They're bad. Really really bad.

Has anyone been sacked due to a consortium's takeover of their club? Like, some dude just kicked Berlusconi out and told me my future isn't secure at Milan and he prefers to bring in Marco Van Basten in the coming weeks as he has strong financial ties with the Dutch.

They just quit the league, in real life.

Every team is terrible at this stage, I've had success with Boston, Bradford, and one more who I can't remember the name of, though.

I was Eastleigh before and they were okay. Vauxhall are a special king of bad though at the start! Thank god for being able to abuse the loan system.

I actually recently got a Steam achievement for surviving a takeover.

Yeah, they don't do much for me though
I got a new feeder club, all it's done is prevented me from upgrading my training facilities as I now share them. FFS. Be ending that asap, though I'll miss a whole season of upgrade......

Never yet.

No one would loan me players. "Send 'em to your dump? Git tae feck!"

Bumping my training facilities too. They are rated at superb and will be one stage from maximum which is top. 19 Million in the bank so why not...

Right. I'm absolutely determined to take a BSN or BSS team to CL glory. I always get bored at around the Championship stage but it's an unfinished goal and something i really want to do. I'm finding this game more difficult than the rest at sticking to a save, been the same with Fifa 14.
Done this a few times in previous versions. Always had to have high squad turnover and put faith in youngsters. Couldn't get into the black for long until I reached the Premiership. Needed cup runs and lots of players on cheap enough wages. Veterans and young players made this possible.

Aye, i've just assembled my squad for the season and it's quite big but i still have £400 p/w to spend if i want to as i've mainly signed youth on ~£50 contracts while selling some of the older players in the side. I really need promotion to keep them but i'm unsure if it's going to happen as they aren't really the best. Time will tell.

Nobody will sign them with me. I spoke to the boardroom about getting a parent club to get more income so let's see who they choose.

Just beat Dortmund 3 - 0 to bring us level on points in the title race. First time I've beaten them in 7 matches.

Really want to stay at Göteborg for a while but every time I get a crap intake, which is a lot of the time, it just breaks my spirit

Think I need to improve my recruitment. Thats seems like it should make a difference.

Just signed this young DM for 300k, has such good all round stats and can play CB and CM. I have no idea what I should make him into. I'd probably choose Cb as he's already well rounded in everything but marking. same for a BTB role but again he lacks finishing/dribbling for that too. I think my best option may be to focus him as a DLP in CM. Any thoughts?

There should be an option to show you which attributes suit which role. That should help you decide, it's what I use anyway.

I'm 7 points clear with 6 games to go in the Bundesliga now. Already played both Dortmund and Bayern twice too. Am in the semi finals of the German Up trying to win it the third year on the trot (but must beat Dortmund) and I'm in the quarter finals of the CL against United.

Anchorman or Regista, unless you don't use a DM at all.

This is my latest youth intake.

Smh....:boring:

Wolfsburg have offered me a new contract but I've delayed my decision til the end of the season as I'm being touted to replace Carlo Ancelotti if he leaves Madrid. If I win the Bundesliga I'll definitely be looking to go to Spain. Will see how it goes.

Yeah I use it but he is so well rounded I have the option to use him a number of different ways.

I would use him as an anchorman but not a big fan of a DM. Think I'm gonna go with CM as a DLP. He's kind of like my current DLP.

Ahh, well DLP isn't a bad choice at all, I like that's he's capable defensively, too often it's hard to get a CM that's strong in defence, quick and can pass really well.

I'm impressed with his menials at that age, determination could be higher but I'll get him a good tutor!

With the stamina / work rate / team work and positioning stat's I think he would make a cracking ball winning midfielder. Depends how you like your teams setup though. Do you play a particular formation or style?

I agree. I've experimented with a BWM in my system, intact when I had Tettey thats what he played as. No one in my team since has really been that adept at playing that role since he left mainly because I favour a CM pairing of a DLP and a BTB and try to get/develop players into them roles..

Fair enough, yeah he could certainly be a good B2B aswell, but if his passing / finishing doesn't improve I think a BWM would be the way to go. They basically do all the hard work and then give it to the DLP in possession.

I have a lot of trouble implementing a ball winner, gets caught out of position way too much.

Had one successful save with one, a long time back, but I can't remember the full setup I had.

I think the problem is they generally like to press hard, so can get a little headless chicken-like. They perhaps aren't the best option for a 2 man midfield, but if he is a good player they generally either win the ball or foul whatever happens :D

I love their off the ball movement when in possession. Exactly like Tom Cleverley doesn't do.

feck, second season in the Bundesliga with Leipzig. Get on a good run of form around the mid-season break, sitting around 8th. Board asks if I want to change my expectations to a top-half finish.

Team then conspires to lose 5 of the next 6 leaving me 15th. Only just managed to right the ship away to Werder Bremen who are 16th.

So I actually played through my 9th season with St. Pauli a few days ago and managed to win my second treble. I also played my first season in FM 14 without a single loss. Ending it on 30 wins and 4 draws setting records for points and goals scored in the Bundesliga.

I also got the best goal scorer and assist giver in the league but man a 33 year old Lewandowski gave both of these players a run for their money challenging on both fronts the guy is an absolute beast under Simeone.

The cup final was a pretty easy affair with a 5-0 win over Hannover.

The CL final where I met Manchester City, who have now been to 7 out of 9 CL finals since I started the game, and it was a tight thing till the very last seconds but I managed to snatch a narrow 1-0.

0HOyJIy.jpg

All in all my best season with St. Pauli so far and we are now also the second highest rated team in the world slightly below Manchester City.

Last remaining task: register a 25 man squad of home grown players for the CL and win it with them. I'm at 18 so far.

Had a good season domestically. Won the league by 13 points but had the chance to break my points record but failed to win in the last two and only equalled it.

My young striker, Thomas Pedersen, has been outstanding. Sold my best striker in the summer so was a little worried about who would get the goals to replace him but Pedersen ended up getting 27 goals in 31 games, only 19 year old too. Looks like a good decision to promote him to the first team.

Champions League was disappointing. In my group was Chelsea, Porto and Rubin. Lost 3-1 at the bridge in a very tight game which I should have got something then beat Rubin at home. Never got going after this though and lost 4-1 away and 3-1 at home to Porto, knocking me out.

Posotives are that the Training/Youth facilities will be completed in early April. The other big positive for me is the age of my team. The average age of the team is 22, Alex Mcarthy (30) in goal is my oldest player. Despite selling my best defender (Amartey), my best midfielder (Samper) and also my best striker (Engvall) I have had pretty much my best season with such a young group of players, 14/23 of which are home grown.

On a different note the the facility upgrades cost around 10 million and I currently have 15 million sitting in the bank which is very pleasing too.

It's looking up in Göteborg!
