Gaming Football Manager 2014

Sold one of my more defensive minded midfielders to Genoa for 1.8 million so have been hunting to find a replacement.

Came up with this guy:

This would be the Dean Mapes that Chelsea literally only signed the day before? That's the proper version of literally as well, not the Jamie Redknapp version. FFS SI, sort out international management :mad:
 
7th of January in my first season at Vauxhall. Sitting in 8th at the moment, 2 points behind the playoff places. My 'supposed' best striker is wank, think he's only scored 1. Being outplayed by a 17 year old who's apparently only a top player in the league below Skrill North (Not even on the database). Come to think of it, it says a few of my players are at that level (Potential is Skrill Premier) they're performing pretty decent as a cohesive force actually.
 
TBF that news item is quite useful sometimes as an international manager. I'm managing France as well as Auxerre so I only really focus on the players when it's near time to pick a squad.
Surprisingly I've been fair and not called up some of my own players because other guys are in better form. If the difference isn't much though I go for mine. Done that twice now with my former captain and backup CB Boly( My main LB was injured for a while and backup was meh so I played Balanta there mainly and Boly as one of the CBs and he did well) and one of my backup CMs Lecomte( a 16yo regen I've promoted to the first team who's had good spells with injuries and I rewarded him with a cap). Strangely Lecomte hasn't played much if at all for the youth teams despite him getting a decent amount of first team football for the league champions and current leaders and having loads of potential.
 
In my Southampton game, I am currently on course for champions league football, if not a title challenge! Of course the minimum is europa league, as the team underachieved with Van Basten who ended up 9th after I believe they were 4th place the year before. I will have to check that. Also Arsenal are in the relegation zone after Ole Gunnar Solskaer somehow fecked it all up, and now Van Basten is in charge, it will remain to be seen what will happen. I was shocked I beat them so easy at home, 4 nil. I didn't actually know they were having that bad a season! Also Man Utd and Man City are in 6th and 5th but they could easily replace me or any other team if we drop points. Somehow, Tottenham are right up there, despite having a really crap looking team on paper. Chelsea are favourites imo.
 
I used to feck with the media when a NT manager.

Picking Jack Grealish over full internationals, picking and starting a young Irish lad who never had a club side and like zero potential, pretty much pulling a lad off the street and making him Ireland's left back...
 
Junior coaching has been improved to one below the max and a training facilities upgrade is underway which will max me out there.

No chance of a new stadium as the current one was only built in 2009, the rent on it is 40% of the gate.

Really bugging me that I can't upgrade to extensive youth recruitment, that for me is one of the last pieces of the puzzle.
 
This lad here looks kinda good, and has plenty of potential to grow, I'm concerned though, Barca are willing to sell him to me for 800k, and he's willing to join to play in the Championship.

I'll have to barter a lot to get an acceptable contract though...

Hmmm yeah, like the look of him. He's fit quite nicely in my team :lol:

What role you giving him? Looks like a decent BTB to me.

Exactly that! My current BTB will be moved to DLP(d) as he outclasses every other mid I have.

Just noticed he has "Shoots From Distance", usually not bad for a BTB, but he hasn't great long shots..... Dunno what to do about that, untrain it, or add Shoot Less as a instruction for him. I already play "Work Ball Into Box".

I could get over it once I started with these skins.... Can hardly even look at the plain one now. :lol:
 
Just won the Svenska Cup for the first time in my 9th season. Been trying for years, Its really been my bogey competition!

Interestingly too, Motherwell have just clinched their 2nd title in two years, Celtic finished 10 points behind Ross County in 3rd, Sherwood has led Spurs to the league title and Athletico are about to win their 3rd title in the last 5 years.

Andreas Pereira just damaged his cruciate. 10 months out. TEN!

He's 26 right now, I really hope the injury doesn't destroy him :(
 
Been a great start to the season too, only dropped 2 points in the league in 10 games. Terrible news.

Maybe this is the young Argies chance to step up. Clouds and silver linings...
 
Screw this stupid game. 18 games into the league, I'm unbeaten so far. 3-0 up by 60 mins - my team are the best in the world, with the best defence. The opposition has a player sent off. They come back 4-3 in the last 30 mins to end my 47 game unbeaten stretch in all comps. FML.
