Gaming Football Manager 2014

Tbf you do generally have to change up your tactics every so often if you consistently stick to using the same one as after a while teams will 'find you out' so to speak, then it won't be as effective.
Well ahead of you, tried several different ones. Poor form with the lot.

My mate was moaning about that and said he read you just have to change your tactics from fluid to normal, or vice versa and it stops it.

I just had an interview with Mainz but it was unsuccessful :(

You can never get a job when you want it can you? Did they fix that in 14? In 13, I remember I started of with Celtic, moved to Porto, then to Dortmund and I really wanted to get the United job around 2030 and even though I had won everything in every country I went and proved myself an absolute no name got it ahead of me.

What annoys me about the job thing is, there's two options, declare interest or apply for job. Now what makes no sense to me is, applying for the job also declares interest..So..what's the point in the two options? They both have the same outcomes..

Think it's because if you're already in a job then you have more chance of being sacked if you actually apply for a job as opposed to just declaring interest. Not sure though, will depend on your current club status too.

If you want a job from an interview, just agree to everything they say and you'll most likely get it.

I did. Didn't help. I restarted though as wasn't getting any jobs and the same thing happened again, this time I got the job. Mainz manager.

Yup, that happened to me big time this save. Began with a near unbreakable 3-1-4-2, loosing one game all season. Second year, I was found out, burned by wing play over and over, constantly conceding even when I'd win. Had to swap to 4-1-4-1 for big games.

This year I'm trying a modified 3 back system, with two DM's, hopefully they'll support the CB's more.

It does it when you're unemployed too, apply for two jobs in a month and it comes up with "*** steps up job hunt, one can only wonder if he is taking each job seriously". So annoying.

So I decided to do a bit of a muppet game and play with Real Madrid. The aim is of course to build a super Galacticos team and win as many trophies as possible. To get as many season in as possible I will go with Classic mode.

I have 20M € left in the transfer budget this season and will look to bring in some youngsters, for the defense. Balanta and Dória are options but I will have an eye on Lucas Romero as well and maybe even Jonathan Silva.

For next season the big goal is to get a world class striker in. Either Suarez or Agüero I think, maybe I'll go for Lukaku if I can get him, strong tall strikers seem to work the best in FM 2014 imo.

I will also look into signing Paul Pogba, he seems the right man for my CM-A spot in my 4-3-3 and has the word Galactico written all over him imo. Of course I will also have to look at potential replacements for my GK position consdiering that I don't rate Lopez that much in this game and Casillas, well he is getting old.

Just sold club captain and favored personnel No. 1 Frahn. Hasnt gone down well with fans . For half a mil at that.

Aye, I sold him at the start of this (3rd)season too, he had become a club Icon. Not happy. I got 1.7m, though, and replaced him with Guidetti. Guidetti literally eclipses him on the attribute analysis polygon though....

Just had a look at his profile, looks good.

I couldnt give Frahn any gametime at all. Have Poulsen, Cerri, Barbosa and a regen called Manuel Guiterrez. All 4 much better than him.

Just checked, he had started just 1 game for me this season. And 2 sub appearances. Half a season gone.

I didn't even get a chance, right off the bat an enquiry came in, went with the flow.

fecking hell, Utd signed a 29yr backup GK for 900k on deadline day and his value has skyrocketed to 12mil. Wow.

Good call I'd say. He isnt good enough for the Prem. Definitely does the job till the 2nd division though.
30 goals in the 3rd, 23 in the 2nd, league leader both times. In real life, you'd say give him his chance, but his stats are already dropping. The club that took him are a Bundes team anyways.

Who was it?

Yeah, 32 and 13 in mine in the 1st 2 seasons.

Who was it?

Southafrican named Khune.

I started unemployed. It's been three years. Top clubs don't speak to me, lower division ones call me for interview, say they were satisfied but go ahead and choose someone else. I don't even know who is paying for the Holiday I keep going to anymore.

:lol::lol:

What's your repo? And the minimum league you've chosen?

Yep. Shouldnt have been worth 900k to start with and if he was, shouldnt have gone straight to 14mil.
Checked an old save that had gone that far in, and he was AC Milan's keeper and worth 18.75m, seems more accurate.

Crazy? What's your rep set to?

Yep, sounds reasonable. That's what, shouldnt have been 900k. Too good for that. And once he's valued at that, mental to increase 15 times.

Earlier I used to disagree a few times (a lot of lower division clubs like playing defensive football, they can feck off, defending is no way to play FM) but even when I started sucking up to everything they say, I got nothing.

We are talking about clubs like Mirandes, etc.

My computer can't handle 3D but if I could see it I think it would confirm my suspicions that my 'best' striker at Mainz is actually a horse. I've never seen a striker so bad. His only goal so far was a tap in after a keeper error and everything else he's been blasting at the corner flag.

You can pick him up at the start of the game for £325k too & he's more than good enough for any team outside the top 4, quite a lot of the South African players are cheap and improve loads, can make a heavy profit on a few of 'em.

I decided to manage the fashionable and exciting Fulham football club.

What I hate the most is when they ask for direct football, ie, give the other team the ball at all times..... feck sake.

My laptop crashes in 3D, but I actually like the 2D engine mostly. Ayways, to the point, your striker might suck, but to call him Andy Carroll is a bit unfair, no?

Aye, I keep some strong scouting eyes on South Africa at all times too, some great youth pops up, South Africa, West Ham, and Guangzhou get poached regularly, or at least have their youth bought for ridiculous monies.
Wow, you guys must have started praying for me after I posted here.

St. Pauli want Aldo as their coach. Get in! :D

Good club too, congrats!

They're a nice club. German 3rd div right? It'l be a great save, lots of top talents in Germany. Can really build them.

Just beat Dortmund away when it seemed my job was under threat

Languishing low in second division at the moment.

Thanks. :D

They start in Div 3 so they've gone up. It'l be a thoroughly enjoyable save imo. Best thing about Germany is the youth the club produces, fantastic.
