Gaming Football Manager 2014

Reserve squad now over 100 players. 12 in the senior squad. Every time I continue it gives me 17 more players to sign.

Edit: Got 153 players in total at the moment. Only 17th July. Season starts 10th October and I have to have a 23 man squad registered. I'll just keep signing everyone then whittle them down once it's registration time.

Edit 2: It appears I can no longer sign players and 53 is the limit. Looks like the process starts now.

One of my star strikers wants out now, wants to move to a bigger club. Not too fussed tbh, if a good bid comes in, he can faff off.

Considering moving to a 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-2-1-1 once I'm in the Bundesliga anyway. Perhaps 3-2-2-1-2 if I can't get some handy wingbacks. Need to start incorporating a AMC one way or another.

I'm speechless. 9-1 is a clear cut chances

Wow, Fellaini has 7 goals and 1 assist in 10 CL appearances in 2013/14. Moyes sacked, Simeone sacked from Atletico and went to United. Nani and Young listed for transfer - he clearly isn't a fan of wingers
Love the FM simulations :wenger:

Got Walsall all the way to the premier league from league 2 and well, feck, the big teams are so fecking overpowered. I mean if Cardiff could beat city, why not me.

So played this years edition a bit late.

Took control of cardiff and got them to 13th in the first year with no real signings and thought that was a bit too easy.

Then I made a number of signings to improve the squad in the summer but had some 10-12 points half way through the season and got fired.

Now I'm just forwarding time waiting for a job to open up :(

I think you need to pretty much max out team cohesion training if you buy quite a few players.

Exactly. Anything above 3 signings for the team and it needs atleast 3 weeks of team cohesion training at Very high level.

That's good addition then.

So I guess I'll just have to keep forwarding time till a decent job opens up. I don't want a job in Germany's second division.

Germany's a great country to manage in if you like bringing youth through. Superb talents.

I keep loading up this game and going to start a new one but really can't be bothered. I think today I finally will and then I'll get into it. Want something challenging but not too far down the leagues. Will have a look around the leagues and teams.

John Guidetti is available on a free, I have a *stack* of free wages, a striker that wants to leave, and a suitor for that striker.

Will the board let me offer anything close to the wages he wants, will they feck.

That's what I thought!

I think I'm going to start a career with Leeds. See if I can get them back to their Champions League days.

I want to make one small club a european giant. Not sure I want to take that long road in a league that isnt the premier league. It will probably have more competition and be more familiar for me too.

Yeah, the PL being more familiar and competitive helps.

Try what I do, start off unemployed with your past experience "Professional footballer", 9/10 you'll get offered a job based on your nationality and if you're English you'll more than likely get a championship job. My 2012 game (which I still play) saw me go through Nottm. Forrest, Watford and ending up at Liverpool and dominating the league for 5 years. Tis always interesting and I find it makes me more loyal to the club as they chose me and not me choosing them.

Yeah I'll do that actually. Might try and start in Germany.

I started in the Greek league when I did that, won the league with Panathinaikos, got the Levante job and now I'm throwing cash around ignoring the FFP at Monaco.

The Greek league? Interesting, I'm guessing champions league appearances helped build your profile. That's what might hold me back if I start out in Brazil
I'm considering Russia or Croatia right now also

You can start with the likes of Kidderminster if you want to be a true Brit manager

Yeah I've got a save with Crewe trying to do the British manager route, taken them to PL promotion and a stadium expansion too, I'll revisit that in due time

Yeah, it's all about doing well in a big European/South American tournament to get the bigger jobs. You start somewhere like the U.S.A or Aus and it's almost impossible to get out of there because you have to build your reputation to World Class instead of just Continental like when you're in Europe.

Alright i'm gonna do a Brazil save, just 'cuz its something different, hopefully it'll be a prosperous route to United/Madrid/Barca
:D

Is it like that with all your targets or is Fellaini just trying to get away with the biggest robbery of the century?

His was the most inflated of all but people like Song was wanting 220-300k, and then people who were on wages of around 20-50k were wanting 100-200k with me. I don't know why it's so inflated as nobody in my team were above 50k.

Ended up getting Guidetti on 25k a week, but with a big appearance fee. Also, if we're relegated, he has a release clause of 0. This doesn't bother me, as we're in no way going down.

Got some fantastic deals this season, especially free transfers.
Guidetti, Ashley Williams, George Thorne all free agents, got a AMC from Dinamo(originally Red Bull Salzburg, coincidentally) named Ante Coric on a pre contract, 5* potential.

I got Rodrigo Gomes, surprisingly enough he'd talk to me half way through the transfer window but not at first. Could have had him on a free too, from Botafogo, but I wanted him instantly, so 550k.

I then found a keeper, who was better than Geifer in Aerial, Distribution, Shot Stopping, Speed and Communication, and equalled him in mental stats. Named Frederik Ronnow, from AC Horsens(my scout found him), was valued at 650k, but had a 275k release clause. Jubbly.

A 20 year old regen AMC/ST from River for 2.7m, 5* pa, and a 16 year old regen GK from Mlada Boleslav 400k, 5* pa, also found by my scout.

4.4m and 94kpw spare to play with in the last few weeks, though Poulsen needs a new contract.

Oh! And I have a regen from Guangzhou arriving end of the year, paid for him last year(675k compo), natural at ML/AML/MC and AMC.

Regardless of your current players wages, was your club very rich, and did you have a large transfer/wage budget?

Good choice :) they're some really good youth prospects in Brazil. Look for a 17 year old defender called Marlon, he's valued at like 41k but you won't get him for less than a million, he's going to be class when he hits 21.

Depends what other clubs are offering too, as well as Earthquakes points. I have that issue on my Liverpool save, Fierro is my highest earner at 80k but Bayern are offering 200 - 300k to everyone they buy, so I'm just bringing up the youth in spades or buying mediocre players as my rotation options so my wage bill isn't through the roof.

Just love this game, the tactic which won me the league last year is failing. Losing to every tom, dick & harry which will no doubt soon cost me my job. This year's edition is one of the poorest for any kind of consistency, got a really good project going and it'll get terminated thanks to the stupid fecking match engine.

Tbf you do generally have to change up your tactics every so often if you consistently stick to using the same one as after a while teams will 'find you out' so to speak, then it won't be as effective.
