Gaming Football Manager 2014

By the way to know the best players when getting a job at a completely unfamiliar club do you just replace the assistant coach with someone that has good judging current ability/potential ability attributes or is there some other way to see which player is worthy to keep? (Apart from using Genie Scout, that is :p )

First thing I'd do is check how the current ass man rates them, pick what he considers the best, and see if they have the right attributes to fit my planned system. I don't like to change staff until I can get massive improvements over the current crop.

Or, at a low club like that, young staff who hopefully have a lot of room to grow with the club.

cnuting Guardiola unsettling Balanta every other press conference he does

City in too.

Not necessarily the Asst manager. Anyone on your staff that has high CA/PA.

I've just won three on the bounce and the papers are saying I'm going to be sacked.

That bit is pretty retarded. You could be 2 points away from winning the league with 4 games to go with a low ranked club and they'd predict you to eventually end up mid table when the season ends.

Bastarding bastards, on my Norwich save, seemed PSG had half my freaking squad unsettled. Bid every single week from Sept to January, twice a week most weeks.

I've put an 80mil asking price on him. Ditto with Poulsen. And a 60mil price on Davies :p

For some reasons unknown even to me, I took a scout of Nicusor Stanciu, and he was "maybe" interesting in playing for me. 4.5m later, we were in talks, and for 22kpw, and a generous relegation release clause, he's now on a 5 year contract with a 30m release. Not too shabby.

Not even sure how it happened, but for a team with no history, just promoted to the Bundesliga, I have the bones of a "Glactico-ish" team, that I'd expect to comfortably finish top half, could do with one more quality CB, but it's workable as is.

Poulsen---Guidetti
Stanciu
Perthel----------------------Gomez
Benassi---Thorne
Williams--Nachreiner--Pejcinovic
Ronnow
Benassi is on a 2 year loan(3 overall, last year, this year and next), so hopefully at some point I can make that permanent, or get Cristante.
That guy at MCL is a bit crap(but mighty for 2nd div), couldn't get a great, affordable or loan MCL, but that Chinese regen will land in January(underage now) to usurp that spot...

Kind of anti Germany save really, heh, but you can't upgrade your youth stuff in FMC, so unless you already have a world class academy you're screwed. Whole 11 cost 6m, including Poulsen who was there before me.

Everybody on my team has morphed into Michael Carrick and are just passing the ball straight to the other team under no pressure whatsoever. I don't know now to manage this, other than saying "please stop passing the ball to the other team under no pressure whatsoever"' but there isn't an option for that.

I'm doing decent at Mainz. Hovering around mid-table, just drew away to fourth placed Borussia Monchengladbach and the board asked to meet me saying to result wasn't good enough. I said they're a much better team and we did well but they were being dicks. Reckon they're going to fire me.

Michael Carrick, Andy Carroll, eventually one of them is bound to turn into someone useful like Rooney.

The fixtures are fecked on this game, one day rest before the midweek fixture...that never happens in real life.

Feck my life. I rest Ronaldo one game so he doesn't get injured due to overplaying him. Next game I play him again. Bam out with an injury for 3 weeks. Gee how good that I gave him a game rest that really worked wonders for him. :wenger:

Apart from this the Real team is a fecking goal machine. 4-3-3 works brilliant with this team and I have already scored 40 goals in 12 games, if I keep this up I'm going to break the 100 barrier easily.

The board have requested a meeting to talk about my future. Wish me luck lads.

I told them they won't find anyone better than me and they agreed

Might resign anyway.

International breaks can feck right off. Not only do those bastards consistently play tired and half injured players no they manage to get at least one of my starters injured every god damn time. So fecking annoying, utterly useless cnuts.

And there is something else that fecking pisses me off. The opposition team has like 20 fouls and goes away with one yellow card. Your team has like 3 fouls and two yellow cards, what the hell ref, what the fecking hell?

Having a class second season in the Premiership with Sheffield United, after taking two seasons in both League 1 and the Championship to get here. Last season we finished 17th, pretty poor stuff, but I had a good few youngsters as first teamers who are playing class this year after struggling last. Sitting in 4th in January, with Agustin Allione(whose in on loan) being stupidly good at RW for me with 16 goals and 11 assists in 18 league appearances. Even better, I have a 19m future fee installed, but he doesnt seem to want to sign. If I get top 4 or even European, is there any chance do you think, or will I have to search for someone else? 19m would be a complete steal the way he's going.

So I changed my mind again and restarted the whole thing. Started unemployed and just got given the Wolfsburg job. Seems a few of you guys are also managing them too. I plan to actually stick with this one now.

Go Monaco like me and just buy everyone. I bought Rooney for 10mil as they didn't play him at all the season before and so far he's on 14 goals out of 10 games.

@Solius just loaded up a Mainz game and went into the 3D view, your suspicions were confirmed:

Decided to download the Free Transfer database Nimic used for his FM experiment, except I'm editing it a bit to play a United game with the aim of only ever using British and Irish players. Opted to try and keep it as young as possible, with the exception of a few positions where the younger players weren't quite good enough for starting positions.

So you basically gave you all the good British players around? I actually like the idea of building an all British squad and have done the same in FM13 but I usually challenge myself to offload all the non-British players within 3 years and replace them with talented British players.

I think it's a bit more fun to build the squad with players you actually bought and not edited into your team but to each his own.

To be honest I just like messing around in the editor.

I also find that certain players, for what seems like no good reason, just refuse to open contract negotiations. George Thorne, James Ward-Prowse and Ryan Ledson instantly spring to mind. There's also the issue with signing players from City/Liverpool/Everton/Arsenal/City and weirdly Newcastle/West Ham barely ever being available without paying over the odds.

The year is 2017, just left Walsall after getting them promoted to the PL. I have no chance with that team, so I jumped ship

I am eyeing the Southampton job as Van Basten appears to be under threat of the sack. I had to turn down Norwich because of the turn of events! Should I take it...

This lad had just popped up on the 'ol scout report, absolutely going to blow my wad on him!

JuanCadet_zps6ed4ed5e.png

Already better than some of my players at 16(though I won't be able to use him until he's 17).

Report says he has potential to be world class, strongest feature is Important Matches, has no weaknesses. Personality is Perfectionist, which means his Ambition and Professionalism are near max along with his Determination, so he'll grow quick as heck, I'd imagine. It also means his Temperament isn't great, but I'm not sure how important that is. I guess it's his reaction to fines and junk.

8m, 6 of which over 48 months. More than the rest of my squad cost total.

I also assume how any yellows and red's he'll pick off. That's one angry teenager!!

Wow so apparently Barca are the masters of corner goals and crosses in this game. Got beat 6-3 in the cup. 4 goals from corners, 2 goals from crosses that Neymar headed in without any resistance. Sometimes I can't suppress the feeling that player stats in this game don't even matter at all.

Not to mention that the next relegation candidate that passes their way around my players with perfectly executed tiki-taka will remind me that there is no such thing like a recognizable team playing style in this game at all.

His Aggression is 6, that's very low. I'd almost want it higher.
Maybe he likes to disrespect tha authoritah!

Also, in my quest for Sunny Southampton, that Marco Van Bastern just won't bloody move! I have decided my catchphrase for my character for this period of his life is "feck you Van Basten". The board is taking a hell of a long time to sack him!
