Gaming Football Manager 2010

Whats the best way to play Maicon? I currently have him as an attacking wing-back. Seems to have started to improve after being shit in his first 10 games.

I used to have Ronaldo (Brazilian) as a support forward and Rooney as a complete forward, with Ozil as an AMC. I got 52 goals out of Rooney all season, all competitions and Ronaldo had 27. Ozil managed 18. Was well pleased with that.

New season now, sold Ronaldo and Berbatov, bought Lukaku. Rooney's scoring well, Ozil's doing much better than last season, but Lukaku hasn't got a goal yet. Could be down to age and inexperience though and not the way I use him. We'll see.

I've discovered saying something wrong in a press conference and your squad 'won't react well' = Automatic loss next game.

How do I stop my players shooting from spastic distances? It's like all of them are Ronaldo on a slightly rubbish greedy day.

Put their amount of shots to limited in advanced options or something.

Really enjoyed this game, however the speed at which it slowed my computer down made it too much hassle to play on.

Oh but Jermiane Beckford can smash them in from 30 yards can't he.... hmm, yes. Yes.

Click on the player, go to comment on player, and choose the option to ask him to stop shooting from long distances. Usually works for me.

The key to press conferences is to be really positive about your players and when asked about opposition players say they are shit. Usually does the trick

Just started a new career with Nottingham Forest. Will keep me occupied until I go back to my United one when I get a bit bored of managing a shite team.

Their players get tired so fecking easily. After 2 friendlies they're all under 55% ffs. Knew I should have chosen Ipswich.
I signed Cleverly for £900k, joining me in January. Got Lukaku on loan for the season.

Any other good loans I could get, or maybe some free transfers? I tried to get Sol Campbell on a free but he went to Bristol, the feck.

Kakuta of Chelsea is a great loan for Championship sides. Get him for 12 months offering none of his wage then they should let you buy him permanently for 100k after the loan is up

Nice one. Forgot about him.

Turn out I didn't get Lukaku on loan after all, snubbed me at the last minute and went to At Madrid. Can't say I blame him.

Any more suggestions? Preferably a striker, a MC and possible a CB?

You can usually get Macheda on loan in the Championship.

I got Macheda on loan at Notts County in Leauge 1, but that might have been helped by the fact United were my parent club. I signed him when we got bought out and given a massive transfer budget

Probably as a Wing Back on Support, at the RB position. That's how I've been playing Diego Renan and Juan Manuel Vargas (a beast). Vargas has something like 4 goals and 15 assists so far this season, contributing a goal every second game from LB!

He's brilliant. Just won player of the year on mine. I'm in 2017. He's not my player though, unfortunately.

I've encountered a bug I think... I signed Dzeko in the last minute of the summer transfer window.. he managed to get a work permit under short notice too but when I look in the squad list there is "Wp" for Work permit before his name and he's unavailable for selection, what to do?

Welbeck, Macheda, Dos Santos, Denilson, N'gog and Lukaku have all rejected my loan offers.

ffs. I've only got Kakuta. I can't wait till January when I get Cleverly. I'm predicted to be 18th, but I told the board I'd win the Championship. This'll be interesting.

Was his work permit actually cleared or did it say he could to be sent out to an affiliated club to gain one? That's the only thing I can think of!

If it's not that then it does sound like a bit of a bug!

I didn't realize you could actually sign a player without a granted permit, I had to loan him out ffs.

How do you use Dzeko properly? Target man?

Hey Spammy, Keith Andrews just scored a 30 yarder against me..

I know, got too easy for a while there.

Finally lost to Arsenal at home, Nasri scoring with a freekick in the 3rd minute. Needless to say, rest of the game was on their half with Alumnia collecting a 9.2 rating as MotM.

Okay, for my Forrest season I've managed to sign:

Kakuta (Season long loan from Chelsea, but is suspended until January 1st. :/)
Cleverly (£875k - Joining me on Jan 1st.)
Isaiah Osbourne (Loan from Aston Villa)
Febian Brandy (Loan from Man United)
Jordan Henderson (Loan from Sunderland)
Michael Mifsud (Free, I think)
Fernando Derveld (Another free)
Brett Pitman (£22,000 from AFC Bournemouth)
Marc Muniesa (£100k from Barca, i think it was)

Just smashed Leicester in the league 4-1. Good times.

Alphonse Areola is a terrific young keeper, turns out class and you can sign him for close to nothing.

I'll have a look at him come January, ta.

Also, Boro and West Brom = cnuts.

Why does it feel like playing away = extra difficult, yet playing at home seems to make feck all difference.
