Keep Cathcart. He's ace. Mr reliable for me. He's got an average rating of about 7.4 so far this season. He's a beast.
Ferdinand's been ace for me. United's player of the season along with 10+ goals.

Started another United game that i'm into. Playing it realistically (ish) as always. Signed Ozil and Rodwell first season and offloaded Park, Gibson and a few reserves to basically cover my net spend. It's at about £5 million now but i plan on clearing out Berbatov, Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves and Valencia in the summer as my formation doesn't cater for them and my youngsters are coming up with the goods.
Meanwhile i'm gonna get Veloso in for hopefully around £5m (he wants to be transfer listed, won't be much more than that when he gets his way), bring in some youngsters and splash out on Sneijder or Pato, depending on which one i see more fit for my formation. All the while i hope to keep my net spend at around £0.

what is it excactly? i once used a downloaded tactics file and at least one of my cd's always got 10+ goals

As for the corner glitch, its to do with a player being placed on the edge of the box with good long shot attributes, and other modifications which frankly I haven't looked into.
Tbh, the defense is set for many years to come: Rio, Vidic, Evans, Evra, o'shea, Brown, Rafael, Fabio, Dodo, Cathcart and couple of regens. But Rio at 32 has been absolute ace as i said.
Otamendi has the best stats of any defender in my game, near perfect, but year after year he's been average for me at best, and always makes a shitload of mistakes. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something but at half time he usually always has a rating of 5.5 to 6 even if I haven't conceded any goals. I've basically dropped him to the bench now and I'm using 2 awesome regens instead.

It's probably your tactic.
Probably, I've always been fecking shit at tactics. My assistant suggested a 4-2-3-1 and it worked in every league but this one, so I've been adapting it match by match but ehhhh. Just ground out a 2-2 draw away to Fulham, ITS ON!
I agree it's probably your tactic - Dawson-Cathcart is a good set of central-defenders while Mane and Simpson are pretty good too.
How are you conceding goals? Set-pieces? Strikers waltzing through your defenders? Missed headers? Long shots?

All my defenders are on default settings.
My DM is set to "Defensive Midfielder" on "Defend".
My Left CM is set to "Advanced Playmaker" on "Attack".
My Central CM is set to "Ball Winning Midfielder" on "Support".
Mr Right CM is set to "Centre Midfielder" on "Support".
I have 1 of my strikers set as "Poacher" and one as "Deep Lying Forward" on "Support".
It's basically just the default 4132 formation with a few alterations.
Remember that the tactic Carl has given you may not fit your strikers. Try tweaking it a bit

I also have Rodwell and Wilshere. I trained Wilshere up to play CM. It took 2 seasons but he's quality now.

Had a bid of £5m + Berbatov accepted for Defoe start of second season, and he finished the leagues top scorer in the first season. Personally think it's a quality deal, but i have a feeling Berbatov is gonna ask me to pay the bulk of his wages till his contract expires. Hate it when that happens.
You're going to buy Defoe for United? Why on Earth would you want to do that?
He finished top scorer in the league, i'm getting him for next to nothing, and he's English....
It saves me spending £30+ million for some foreign tosser.
But you've already got Rooney, Welbeck and Macheda who are all better.
