Gaming Football Manager 2010

No mate.
As for the corner glitch, its to do with a player being placed on the edge of the box with good long shot attributes, and other modifications which frankly I haven't looked into.
Tbh, the defense is set for many years to come: Rio, Vidic, Evans, Evra, o'shea, Brown, Rafael, Fabio, Dodo, Cathcart and couple of regens. But Rio at 32 has been absolute ace as i said.

It's true that there's usually a player in it that position with good long shot, but does he actually do anything? From my experience it's almost all down to the corner-taker and the big, strong header on the far post. It does devalue games somewhat, though. Not as bad as cheating regularly would do, but a bit.

There is something very fecked up with this game.

I've just flogged Utaka to Barcelona for 2.3m, but have to contribute 1.5m towards wages for the next year.

You've been well and truly conned.

Recently I've been getting my players telling me they're concerned with the lack of dicipline within the team. How the hell do I make them more disciplined? I can't find out a way to stop them moaning.

Be more harsh with red cards and lack of professionalism (like players missing training).

Usually I only warn for second yellows if I win or fine one weeks wages if it costs me points, and two weeks no question for things like late tackles.

Having a player with good long shot attribute is not wrong. Infact, its how players like Scholes are placed during corners in reality. But its do with the corner taking technique that assists in laying off the ball to that player just outside the box.

My tactic that I use with Burnely and that has won the Champions League and is about to win the Premier League is:

ST ST

CM CM CM
DM
LB CB CB RB

GK

All my defenders are on default settings.

My DM is set to "Defensive Midfielder" on "Defend".

My Left CM is set to "Advanced Playmaker" on "Attack".
My Central CM is set to "Ball Winning Midfielder" on "Support".
Mr Right CM is set to "Centre Midfielder" on "Support".

I have 1 of my strikers set as "Poacher" and one as "Deep Lying Forward" on "Support".

It's basically just the default 4132 formation with a few alterations.

Personally, I do a lot of rotating within my squad, and alter the player roles depending on the players stats. When you select a role (eg Advanced Playmaker) it will highlight which stats are the most important for that role, so I just get the players into the positions I want em in, and then give each of them a role depending on their stats. Obviously there also needs to be a balance to the team as well, but otherwise it tends to work.

Ive been enjoying success switching between a narrow 4-2-3-1 and a narrow diamond 4-1-2-1-2.

Finally got Lukaku for £18.9mil. Rip off, but ah well. Used my Berba money after I sold him to Roma for £23mil.

Not scored in 4 starts yet though. :(

You're going to buy Defoe for United? Why on Earth would you want to do that?

Defoe in FM 08 was awesome for me. Had him for one season and sold him at the end of it for a huge profit and bought Aguero

He finished top scorer in the league, i'm getting him for next to nothing, and he's English....

It saves me spending £30+ million for some foreign tosser.

30m Dzeko. Best striker any money can buy. Yes he's better than Villa too.

27 million? I had the option to sign him for 2.5 but turned it down.

Uh oh, Notts County - final day of the Premier League season, I'm 18th, a point adrift of safety now and got Man City (6th in league) away, Blackburn (1 fecking point ahead of me) have Birmingham (also 1 point ahead of me).

Cheers for the tactics help btw, its dragged me up to within a point of being safe.

Here goes :nervous:

We're staying up :D

Beat City 2-0 away from home, crazy stuff considering I've been playing poorly all season. Finished 2 places ahead of relegation zone in the end.

I hate when you're challenging for the title and then you just randomly get beaten 6 fecking 2 by someone like Liverpool, it just doesn't happen.

2 years back. Old trafford. United 1 liverpool 4.

Does anyone else find that having a poacher and an advanced forward just doesnt work?

In fact. Does everyone else feel they have to have 1 of their strikers in a support role?

I've got an incredible trio of world class physios, haven't had an injury over 5 days all season!

Oh, and Vidic is my top scorer at the start of May!

Managed to take my revenge and knock Real out of the CL, they are a hard bunch to beat.

Yup, unless you've an AMC too. Defensive Forward (Support) and Poacher (Attack) is the way to go.

Thought as much. It's just my support striker (Macheda) isnt getting anywhere near enough goals.

Yeah, they usually don't. Saying that, I used Dzeko behind Pato/my regen for many years, and he'd usually get 20 goals or more. Sometimes he actually outscores the poacher. Got me 37 goals once.

I play with a Poacher and a Complete Forward, seems to do the trick with me. Though I have an equally deadly goal-threat in my AM.

Rooney/Kiko Complete Forward.

Dzeko/Berba Poacher.

60 goals right there.

Pre-season friendly:

Notts County 16-0 Santomera

(Banega x2, Marcus Berg x5, Christian Benitez x4, Kiko Macheda x4, Klainic)
