Gaming Football Manager 2010

This might just be the best league season I've ever had on this game without cheating.

It was 12, until I conceded against Siena at home in the last game. I've had that few conceded a couple of times before with Roma, but I've never been close to 118 goals. I think I broke the previous record (also mine), which was 99. It's my second unbeaten season, though the last one I went 30-8-0.

I failed to score once the entire season, home against Atalanta, of all teams. But I made up for it by beating Lecce 8-0.

Really happy. But then I'll probably disappoint next season. Isn't that how it usually goes?

What year are you in?

I've gone unbeaten once before I think. I would have gone unbeaten in my second season at Liverpool but I had a thin squad and got to the semis of the CL and final of the FA so had to compensate by throwing a few games because my fixtures were ludicrous.

This was 2022/23. I think a big part of the reason why the game is going so well is because I have a very big squad. I might conceivably win the league with my 2nd XI. Part of that is because of the youth policy I'm running with, so I can afford having such a big squad.

That's quite expensive to be honest now it's 6 months old.

I got it for £17 the day it was released, from Zaavi.

I'd be surprised if you can find it for any cheaper than £15.

They day i won 35 out of 38 games I would stop playing or find a new club.

FM 10 is the only FM i have not been able to fully get into. Played without United and it was even easier than playing with United in any previous version.

Rooney Macheda Dzeko all scored for fun. It's a little too easy for strikers to score and wingers all play like gods!

Right. I decided it's been too long since I had a Chester City game, so I started one. And now I'm glad I have a division below me, since I'm not sure I can keep them up despite our little Lower League tricks.

Where do I begin? We're odds on favourites to finish last. According to my assistant manager (who's last name is Gerrard), we've got the youngest (aka least experienced) squad, the worst dribblers, worst technique, weakest, slowest, least driven, least creative and in general most shit squad in the entire Blue Square Premier. I'll get no transfer budget, and the wage budget is the same whether I say to win the league or avoid relegation. And it's already used up. And I can't flog away my players, even for free. And I can release one player before I'm in the red.

Oh, yeah, and we've got 25 points deducted before the season even starts.

Did I mention the £4 million loan I've got? That I have to pay £36k on every week, which is five times as much as I can spend on wages every week?

Yeah, I'm fecked.

And I love it. Never mind winning the Champions League six times in a row, this is a bloody challenge!

Jeez. I'm sort of tempted.

ARGH

So fecking pissed at this game..

I don't get where I'm going wrong?! Just can't get a stretch of winning games..my 2nd season in with Roma (never managed outside of the Premiership before) and I really suck. I was a god on FM 09, and all the previous versions, but this just absolutely suck ass.

I've read all the tactical guides (of FM09 and FM 2010) but nothing seems to be working, regardless how much time I give. I'm trying to figure out what formation to play and stuck with 4-2-3-1 with Roma for a while but I finished 9th in the first season.with zero transfer budget...However somehow squeezed in enough cash to buy Cardoza and he was top scorer in Europe!

nevertheless, just started my 2nd season and I've got 9 points from 9 games, fecking pissing off...
Worst part is I don't know where I'm going wrong. In Italy if you play too wide, you get eaten alive by teams who play narrow, if you play too narrow, the opposition plays a direct wide formation. fecking sick of it. and De Rossi gets sent off like at least 5-6 times in that first season for me, regardless how much I warn him, or fine him, or tell him to tackle lightly in the instructions..

You're probably worrying too much about tactics. I try to keep it as simple as possible with tactics which seems to work.

I can send you a tactic that would work if you pm your email address.

Tried to buy this yesterday but Game didn't have it in stock the cnuts! Wanted it to fill the football void now the season is finished. Haven't played a managment game for years, was looking forward to it.

Also steam has funny little achievement things.

That should be incentive enough.

Spot on. My tactic has been unchanged for several seasons now, and it never fails me. There's really no need to change too much, or get too fancy with it. You don't need a trequartista, or a box-to-box midfielder, or a ballplaying defender, if you haven't the perfect players. And no need to change too much of the team tactics, like pressing and creativity. I've just got more direct passing.

Gerrard's dive is still raw and I've not played the game since

I also bought it on Steam, and to be fair it seems to work fine and smoothly, given it saved me having to get up off my arse and buy it in person, I was pleased. I would probably go down the same route in future

Steam is a bit expensive at times, but I buy most of my games off it. It's just so very convenient. And I'll never have to worry about losing my CD's. Short of the zombie apocalypse breaking out, I'll always be able to download it from Steam again.

Just been humbled in champs league quarters by real, lost 3-0 at home although in fairness to me it was 1-0 with 10 to go until touré scored an OG while under no pressure at all causing wads to drop and another to go in.

I may go abit gung ho at the bernabeau if my best defender is back from injury then.

Playing again after a long time today.

Started with United and got in De Rossi for $75m and Balotelli for $25m upfront with a further 20 down the line.
Managed to sell Gibson for $10m and loaned out PIG and Park to Munich and Barca for a total of 5m.
Fletcher sold off to Kiey bizarrely for $19m.

Increased my Budget to $47m after editing now. Can't decide whether I should buy Lloris for $43m or Gourcuff for $31m.

Gourcuff's price remains the same after the first season as i found out earlier however I dunno how will Lloris' price get affected. Who should I buy?

PS: Sneaked past Chelsea 1-0 in the CS and beat Arsenal 5-1 at OT in the first League game. Rooney went mad with 4 goals including a stunning solo goal

Who you playing with? Barca? Mancity? Which toure?

I lost in last seasons champions league final to Madrid playing as mighty Wacker Burghausen in the Bundesliga. That damned Ronaldo torched my left back cut inside and blasted a shot from about 30 yards out. I am running a full team of eastern European regens for the most part with Akinfeev (picked him up on a free).

I am in 2015-2016 season now.

I play a 4-3-3 formation with my fullbacks pushed forward as wingbacks. I've been very successful with it.

It's 4am, you can't expect me to be a proper grammar nazi at this time :(

With FM at least, you can install it via steam with the disc. Therefore you will be able to play without the disc and download again without the disc if needs be.

O.G? Treachery? Actually a different Rafael?

Although one of my newgens that I released ended up at City, and is a star for them now.

He is improved incredibly, but he is not always a regular starter, i sold him to Birmingham for 7 and after 1 and 1/2 yr they signed for 21 million

It can work yes, but a proper tactic can do wonders, especially with a limited squad.

^^ This is why FM 10 has not been too much fun. Strikers are insanely good. It's no fun.

The annoying thing is that some regens are amazing but real life quality youngsters are mot often not. Also, there seem to be feck all quality English regens.
