Gaming Football Manager 2010

Its ok. Yeah I get really pissed off to. There is possibility that anytime a player can be seriously injured. Although the worst I ve ever had was 3 months. See if I lose just one player then I dont do anything. I try and keep it as realistic as possible. Even if I lose against Hull then I dont replay it and I get on with it.

In my last game I bought Mevlüt Erdinç from PSG when I was at Fiorentina and paid way over the odds for him (about 30 mil). He played two games, scored in both and then broke his leg. He was out for five months and by the time he'd recovered I'd managed to get my other forwards playing well. Plus being out of the game for five months totally ruined his stats. I ended up just playing him because he'd cost so much, never scored for me again.

That is why I always buy players who are top class and I somehow find a way to get them CHEAP. I bought Jack Rodwell for $10M and I exchanged him for Park. That is cheap. I bought Hamsik for $12M from Napoli. I bought Hazard for $15M. This is how my team looks right now.

You wont believe me if I say this but I have not lost a game this season from August to January so far. My team is unbeatable. I bought in so much revenue so my stadium capacity is 100,000.

Some of the transfers in the game are just bizarre. A 40 year old Brad Friedel is playing for Barcelona.

Struggling to get a consistent run on my West Ham game. Win against some of the big four the one week and losing to other mid table team the other. About a quarter of the season gone - 2010/11

Should be competing for Europa League on paper, that team

I've seen some brilliant regen-names through the years, but this one is surely up there.

Marvel in it.

I'll tell you what really pisses me off in fm10; in the press conferences I answer all of their insipid questions except for one or two where I'm non-commital. Everytime I do this it's "another cagey press conference" - bloody hacks.

Yep. Though truth be told, I almost always let my assistant manager do the talking. Exceptions include big games and after games where someone has really played well.

I'm not playing this game again. I've been heartbroken by the latest corrupted save file. feck.

I had a scare yesterday, when my longest game for FM10, which I've almost spent 10 days on, got an error during saving. Luckily it had saved not long before that, and all I'd done was go forward a week and spend some time looking for coaches.

I hate the question when someone is injured: 'How will you cope without <insert name>?'

If you say: 'We'll be fine etc.' then the player will get pissed off because you don't value him

If you say: 'It's a blow' the other players lose morale.

I also hate assistant manager team talks. You've just fought back from 2-0 down against say, Villa or Spurs to win the FA Cup final. Your assistant manager will say 'Dissappointing' in the final team talk because they're not a top side and you only just scraped through last minute. There's loads of other similar examples of this

How does the game decide favourites for competitions? Here are the odds for the 2018/19 Champions League:

Arsenal: 4.00
Real Madrid: 8.00
Manchester City: 8.50
Roma (me): 8.50
Manchester United: 9.00
AC Milan: 11.00

I checked how the teams did the last 5 years. I might be going a little overboard, but it seems somewhat.. random.

Arsenal, with the by far best odds, were defeated in the Semi Finals in 13/14, Quarter Finals in 14/15, First Knockout Round in 15/16, QF in 16/17 and First Knockout Round in 17/18, by 1-7 against Inter on aggregate.

Real Madrid won in 13/14, came to the QF in 14/15, runners up in 15/16, SF in 17/18 and First Knockout Round in 18/19.

Manchester City finished runners up in 13/14, runners up in 14/15, 3rd in Group Stages in 15/16, First Knockout Round in 16/17 and 3rd in Group Stages in 17/18.

Roma (me) were defeated in QF in 13/14, won in 14/15, SF in 15/16, SF in 16/17 and won in 17/18.

Manchester United were defeated in First Knockout Round in 13/14, First Knockout Round in 14/15, weren't in it in 15/16, First Knockout Round in 16/17 and 3rd in Group Stages in 17/18 (though they won the Europa League - over City).

AC Milan were defeated in QF in 13/14, QF in 14/15, won in 15/16, QF in 16/17 and SF in 17/18.

I don't get it. How did Tony Mowbray (Arsenal manager) pull that one off?

By the way, you'll never guess which fat Spanish waiter is Real Madrid manager

i finished my first season with Spurs in 5th place, 3 points behind Liverpool. won the FA cup against Arsenal with Modric scoring the only goal, Defoe score 29 goals for me, 27 in the league, was top scorer. signed Van der Vaart for 6 million from Real and sold them Crouch for 9 million

Has anyone else noticed that players steal penalties from others once in a while. Verratti is my assigned penalty taker for Ajax but Lukaku just stepped up instead and scored, it did seal his hattrick though and Verratti scored screamer earlier in the game so it didn't really bother me.

The media is currently wanking themself senseless over me. Two games in a row "Tinkerer Nilsson keeps opponents guessing" has come up, hailing my tactics.

I call it 'shit game syndrome'.

It's funny that you'd spent so much time talking about, and presumably playing, a game that you think is "shit". You have 72 posts in this thread.

72.

Seventy two.

Lighten up, you'd think you work for SI or something. I have played it quite a lot over the years, because the premise is so good, but little things like this should really have been dealt with a long time ago. The whole game obviously isn't shit.

This tactics works well, and I play sometimes also with Cathcart and James, excellent youngsters

Chelsea 0 United 1 (Valencia)
Hull 0 United 4 (Owen, Giggs, Berbatov, Anderson)
Chelsea 1 United 1 (Aguero)
United 1 Wolves 0 (Rooney)
United 3 Stoke 0 (Nani, Berbatov, Aguero)

I will have few money for the next season, I will sign only one player, probably De Rossi, or Moutinho

Spent two years at Celtic and won everythong domestically as well as two CL quarter finals in a row, then spent a year on gardening leave before succeeding Fergie. Still on for the treble in March, I've spent net 100mil so we bloody should be. If anyone needs a good formation I've got one that gives you over 60% possession and about 20 shots on goal that I'd be happy to email to you.

Decided to throw in the towel at Valladolid and have a crack with Lazio.

Lot of shit in there. Surprised Zarate has still stayed

Going to try and grab James Rodriguez...again.

Wow. I m just so happy with my team right now. I got Gourcuff for a free!

Right, in continuing the tradition of weird transfers;

Steven Taylor to Juve for 8.75 million pounds.

In fairness, his stats are great for a CB.

But you'd never pick that in reality :wenger:

Yeah transfers are really weird in this game.

Anyone notice how Wenger basically begs for Nani all the time? Half the time in my games he signs Nani for double figure millions and proceeds not to use him.

I've seen games where Barcelona basically end up with all the best wingers in the world, competing for one place as Messi is undroppable!

Barça have six strikers in their first team now, and they're still playing 4-3-3

For the first time I have started a game with 3 leagues (england, italy, spain). It's more realistic, in particular the transfers

I have signed only 3 players Lloris, Chiellini and Aguero. Each one is fantastic, but I have million of injuries, in many games I play with Cathcart, James, Eikrem. They are improving day by day, and I can use them for the first team.

In Juve 1 United 2, I played with Corry Evans and Scholes in the mid

Against Sunderland, United 8 Sunderland 0, Eikrem did a superassist

Madrid in my game are utterly ridiculous in this context

Never won any cups but I was offered to take over after Fergie retired, which was a proud moment, I took the job sorted out there team but soon got bored and reloaded the original game, I'd built too much of a good young team here to leave really.

Finally got a game going I'm into on FM10!

Started up a game randomly with Napoli, I'm doing very well with my newly designed tactic, some interesting buys pre-season, my excellent run of form and to top it off - this result:

InterNapoli.jpg

Was mightily chuffed by that come back, didn't even expect a point
Here's the current standings after that game:

NapoliA.jpg

Oh and just to point out my super sub striker Luigi Castaldo who scored that late winner against Inter, I got him as a bit of a joke as a fourth choice striker but due to random injuries to Lavezzi & Quagliarella he's been playing more regularly and stepped up to the challenge:

:devil::lol:

If any of you cnuts are after a good DC, may I recommend Geromel?

At Köln at the beginning of the game, though I just bought him from Dinamo Kiev for my Lazio team in 2012-2013.

17 for marking
18 for anticipation
17 for composure
17 for concentration
18 for positioning
16 for teamwork
17 for jumping

Managed to grab him for 11 million pounds. And with those stats, seems a steal.

I prefer Naldo of Werder Bremen, who is my all time favourite FM CB.
