Gaming Football Manager 2010

Also Liverpool are playing fantasy football on my game. Just signed Hazard, Hamsik, Walcott, Kroos, Otamendi, Pato, and er...Bendtner.

Portsmouth are also repeatedly spending 30+ mil a season on players, which is odd. They were the first to pick up Pato from Milan, and have just bought Capoue off me for 14mil, and some English centreback for 26mil.

My Torino side missed out on the Serie A title last night by three points :( With six games to go I picked up an unlikely 1-0 victory away to Milan (Eventual champions), putting me 3 points behind with a slightly better goal difference. I had a piss easy run in so was sure as long as Milan lost one of their last five games I'd take the title on goal difference.

They had Fiorentina away, Roma at home, Lazio away, Napoli home and Sampdoria away - all sides in good shape and top 8 (Except Napoli) - they won every fecking game :( Bastards.

Sad thing is I'm managing United at the same time, and I'd sold Milan one of their star players, Alessandro Lattanzi, a regen AMC who scored 3 times in that run in, including the winning goal vs Fiorentina.

What season was this?

I'd love to pawn off McFadden for that much, though I don't see how I'll get that during this first window.

Start of 2010/11 Season. I had initally had an offer of £7m come in for him but I rejected it. I then actually took a second to think and realized what a spastic mistake I'd made, so I offered him to clubs for £7.5m and they came back with an offer. No idea why he went for so much.

I haven't really replaced him properly though, I'm playing Ba and Wilshere there atm though.

Jack Rodwell sprained his wrist lifting weights and will now miss the Chelsea match, what a dick.

Next game 2 - 1 up, concede a 90th minute equalizer.

I must be doing something wrong.

Are you subbing your goalkeeper off at 90 minutes?

I've just gone on another streak of only gaining 2 points from 3 games against mid table teams, before turning up at Anfield in the Champions League and destroying Liverpool 4-0.

Ironically I tried to build a team as close to the treble winning side as possible, with a box to box midfielder, a small but classy playmaker, one pacey winger who loves to dribble, and another great at crossing etc. Guess I just got the decade wrong and am lumped with a side more reminiscent of 1980's United. All the talent in the world, but only turn up when they can be arsed, or are playing Liverpool.

This game was not good for my health.

I loaned a player called Guido Marilungo without having ever heard of him and he's been fantastic for me. Really did not expect him to play as many games as he has. I feel like a good scout

I just got sacked. Gutted, I was building a good squad there, was only 11th place, on 22 points after 16 games. Lost to Villa at home and it seems they lost patience. Have applied for the Blackburn job, they're 19th.

EDIT: Alan Shearer got the job. I'm like a vulture waiting for a manager to fall now.

I'm now the Sevilla manager, pretty decent step up really. I have underestimated the power of declaring your interest in an unstable managers position. They immediately sacked him and offered me the job.

Birmingham finished 17th, one point off of relegation. That'll teach them to sack me, the wankers.

Yeah I sold him for 7.5 to Sunderland just now. I didn't realise he was valued at 4 million to begin with and when I offered him up (for 7.5) Sunderland accepted straight away.

How much did you sign Ba for? I signed Obasi for 8.5 in the end... It was out of those two really, but I like Obasi because of his technique, though his finishing is shite.

Well you've certainly moved up in the (FM) world.

How has Sofiane Feghouli turned out in everyone elses games? I've an opportunity at the moment to get him on a free from Grenoble. Would be quite handy, especially for Valladolid, imo, since I play with three AMC's behind the front striker.

1-0 home win against Barca. Get in!

How do we find players who dont have a contract? I m managing Cardiff and I want to sign players for free since I dont have a transfer budget and they allow only 4 players on loan from a nation. So any help would be appreciated.

I normally just do a search filter with "out of contract" as one of the options and then go through seeing who i recognise.

Otherwise, there is the annual "release of players" day where you will be informed of some of the bigger name players being released, however some of those will already have been snapped up on pre contracts.

Alternatively, if there are specific player(s) you know are coming to the end of their contracts, just shortlist 'em so you can be informed of any updates.

WINZORRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Just beat Arsenal in my third League game, 2 - 0.

7 points from 3 games? Yeeeeyah.

Looks like a good find there! Checked him on my game but he's already loaned out to another Italian club.

Don't know if this is a find, but Matías Defederico from Corinthians looks like he could be quite a player - bit pricey though!

My Sevilla team for the new season is:

----------------- Boruc ------------------
Srna --- Squillaci --- Fazio --- Mattock
Navas -- Busquets -- Palacios -- Di Maria
--------- Fabiano ---- Negredo ---------

Busquets, Palacios and Di Maria were my signings, Boruc was already arriving on a free. I got the credit for signing him however :smirk:

Nope, 2010. He was already there when I took over. My assistant rates Navarro higher but Mattock has been playing better.

I have Defederico in my United team playing an AMC Trequartista role behind two front men and he's pretty spectacular, although took him a couple of seasons before he started playing consistantly well. Plenty of goals and assists, but best of all he plays schexy football, always looking to do something special. Likes his long range screamers and cheeky backheeled throughballs, also he seems to be the only player in my team who's somewhat reliable in one on ones.

I paid £23m for him (From Corinthians in 2011)

Oh what do I do when my players complain of a lack of discipline in the team? This always happens to me two years into the job.

The whole thing were you dominate the game then your opponent has two attacks with 2 goals, etc... is fecking boring now and unrealistic. It doesn't happen that often ffs.

What I say: "OVERLOOOOOADD!! ATTTTAAAAACCCK!!! POUR FORWARD!!!"
What my team hear: "Do nothing."

Hehe, so the Cup of African Nations comes around and Manucho is unavailable. My other striker is Alberto Bueno, who is injured for another 5 weeks or so. Anyway, I just had a game against Zaragoza where we were at long odds to win at their place.

Me being the inventive fecker I am, line the first XI up in a 4-1-2-3. Thats 1 DM, 2 CM's and three AMC's. Ended up being a 2-0 victory to us. I might keep using this tactic and not worry about getting a striker in short term.

Currently, I'm sitting in 8th and am about to take on Almeria in 7th who are 1 point ahead. If I can beat them, Europe will look a strong possibility next season. Not bad for a team predicted to finish 17th

My entire team are taking turns to say they think the club is underachieving. fecking stupid.

I just got offered the Brazil job, have taken it and will be dividing my time between Sevilla and them now. Didn't expect to be offered it considering I was sacked at Brum and am living dangerously at Sevilla despite being 6th atm.

Dunno why your Sevilla team should be going tits up, Sol. Looks good on paper.

What kind of tactics are you using?

Usually a flat 4-4-2 against the weaker teams and usually 4-2-3-1 away from home with Di Maria and Navas on the wings. Well Navas would be on the wing but he's been out for 4 months. The strikers aren't really taking the chances, Negredo is the only saving grace. I signed a striker too late and couldn't register him for the La Liga which was a bit shit. Boruc is a liability, Squilacci and Fazio are error prone.

I see. Whats your philosophy like?

Looking at that 442, you could probably get away with subbing Busquets for a more creative type. It's all about finding the right combination.

Alberto Bueno can't hit the back of a barn door for love nor money. He's good in the link up play but he'll often go 8 hours without scoring. Usually when that happens I rest him for 3-4 matches then he comes back and scores a brace and a hattrick, and maybe another goal, then reverts back to his old self, the fooking git.

My philosophy?

Yeah Busquets always seems to be caught in possession. You always get the few odd players that you never have to swap as well, they're always fit and always play well/decent. For me that's Palacios, Mattock and Srna.
