Go ahead and play with your super-powered Diouf who is stupidly underrated in-game

When I save the new database I save it as 'New', but then when I load the game up, I can't seem to use that database, it just loads up the original one

You should see something like this:

Forgot what to do here but at "Editor Data Files" you somehow have to get it to include your saved changes file.

I'm going to start a new game as Morecambe tonight. Does anyone know of any good players I can get for cheap at the start (who will be prepared to play in League 2)?

I reckon they probably won't have much of a budget

Is it just me or does there always seem to be an early goal in the big games? And i'm talking first couple of minutes here.

There's also usually an equaliser not far after. Just something that seems to happen alot when i play against Arsenal and Chelsea especially.

Decided to pick the game up again.

Started with Sunderland. Sold Kenwyne jones for 11M, Andy Ried for 3(may rise to 5).

Brought in Demba Ba (10M), Axel Witsel (3M) and Rodwell for 8M possibly rising to 16M.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm really sorry to be a pain, but can someone please take me through step by step how to get database edits to take effect.

At the moment I load up the database, make changes (i.e Rooney better at headers) then I save it as 'Save as' and name it something like 'New'. Then I exit the editor. When I then load up the game and go to 'Start new game' it just automatically loads a database and goes straight to the the wizard that allows you to edit the amount of leagues etc. So how do I choose my 'New' database?

This has already been explained, hasn't it? You don't make an entirely new database. You save CHANGES to a database. So when you start a new game, there should be something at the top left corner where you can then edit and decide which database changes you want in.

Edit: Take a look at the screenshot a little way up this thread, that shows the database-choosing when starting a new game.

I've started quite well with Sunderland. My choice to sell Jones and buy Ba was quite a good one. The Cattermole, Cana and Rodwell midfield is proving to be quite solid.

So far, Played 5, won 2 drawn 3.

Beat Arsenal, Villa, drew with United, Wigan and Burnley.

Burnley was the disappointing result - no idea why they didn't show up.

You can sell Jones for 11m? FFS I sold him for 5m and was delighted with that:lol: What tactics/formation do you use?

He went to Chelsea! 11M, they also brought Landon Donovan for 11M...strange times.

Using a 4-3-1-2:

-Hutton--Turner--Ferdinand--Rat-
---------------------------------
---Rodwell-Cattermole-Cana-----
-----------Witsel---------------
------Bent--------Ba-----------

Its worked quite well, struggling against the smaller teams mind you!

How many patches have been released for this? I can only find 1 on SIGames.Com.

I started a game with Sunderland as well, it's the right club to build up something of interesting. No debts, big stadium, decent squad to start

I have to complete the transfer campaign, at the moment:

Gordon

Hutton Turner G.Silva Kilgallon

Henderson (Sandro) Cana (M.Diarra) Diaby Albin

Bent Gignac

Got this today. Started with United as I allways do when i first play it. Signed Modric and Lloris so far and created a 4231 formation. The new tactics seem difficult to get to grips with though.

Any tips?

In each of my Seasons West Ham have spent the Following -

2010/11 - £17.5 million
2011/12 - £36 million
2012/13 - £42 million
2013/14 - £81 million
2014/15 - £78 million

They're currently in a relagation battle

Look at my Celtic strikeforce. No tampering or exploits used whatsoever. Look at the regens age - easily the best Ive ever come across.

That guy has everything except for an aerial threat. I've run into a few as good as him, but only one better. That guy had absolutely everything, the definition of a Complete Striker.

Don't get too fancy. You don't need a box-to-box midfielder, or a Trequartista, for example. Unless you absolutely have the players for it. And there's no need to change everything in your tactic (that is, the tactics like passing, closing down, crossing, tackling, etc). My most successful tactic has been practically unchanged for three or four very successful seasons now, and I think most of the time the only change to those instructions I've had is direct passing, and once in a while more roaming and/or creativity.

Also, it usually doesn't work very well to have two strikers on Attack, though you won't have that issue with only one striker. And there's no definite need to start changing individual player instructions. In my aforementioned tactic, I only changed a couple of things on my player instructions, and that's obvious stuff like a fantastic long shot on more long shots, stuff like that.

Edit: Now you guys got me interested in this again, again. I think I'll start up a Sunderland game as well. My Roma game has become a bit boring.

Cool cheers Nemmic. In previous Champ Man and Footy Manager series it's been essential to have a DM. Have you found this to be the case in this eddition?

My formation certainly has one. I have experimented with just a bunch of players on "Support", but having one on defensive is a good idea, whether he's in the actual DM position or not. Also, if you're playing with just one striker, I recommend putting one CM (in the CM position) on "Attack".
