The 3D engine is a bit shit tbh.

Looks fairly average. Also, the 2D match view that we're used to has been made smaller, unless you open the match in "TV view", which is a bit annoying. Let's hope they make the view just like previous years. Otherwise, its pretty good so far, but my players' morale is very low...
 
It's taking fecking ages to download. I've commited suicide like three times.

is it just me or can you not make players make diagonal runs in the tactics section anymore?
 
I had a good game with City till it crashed.

Went on an FM dream signing; Zhirkov, Arshavin, Progebnyak, Veloso, Kameni and Diarra.

team was looking tasty, stupid computer.
 
Will it update player stats though? We are criminally underated, especially since in the past previous season winners of the CL and domestic league have been very good.

Don't be too harsh on him. I've been on there before and he does follow all levels of our team. There's like 60 complaints on there already from the last two days about a number of things, including several about Rafael, so no need to make it worse for the guy.

But, would they change it?

I have seen a lot of debating on the forum about Ronaldo's poor stats on heading and FK, but i doubt SI would change it, they have never done it before and they will follow the trend

That's not true at all. I was under the impression that they were going up to Rafael and Possebon, don't know what happened.

Part of the problem is that he is just about the only just club editor there, so everyone else's players are horribly overrated.

same. Differences are the press conf before the games which are rather pointless. The assistant's thoughts during the game, which seem wrong:confused:, and the new match engine, which i don't even use as it's shit.

So i am basically playing FM08 again but with updated squads, not stats. Maybe when they update the stats it'll be more enjoyable.
 
I actually prefer FM08. The match engine in FM09 is bollocks, the new features are shit, maybe instead of adding them they could've put a bit of reinvention on what they already had, which they didn't.

Generally though, because Fifa and Prevo are so good nowadays, I can't be arsed with management games anymore.
 
Do you mean to say all the stats are exactly the same as last year?

Surely they'll change it before actual release if thats the case.

When I play FM, I manage in the Irish Leagues, because they both have only one researcher all the players are out of position, expectations are wrong and all manner of other mistakes.
 
Did the configuration of the system take ages for anyone else?

The current database is dated for the end of last season. So Rafael Da Silva and Possebon will be largely the same as they were in Football Manager 2008.

In the next patch or update or whatever, they'll be upgraded somewhat.

The Manchester United researcher watches the Reserves and Under-18s games, and is probably the fairest researcher - in the sense that the Italian database is so overrated it's ridiculous. Take a look at Andrea Barzagli in Football Manager 2008, for example...
 
Why (in the 3D mode) do all my players do a little moon-walk as the ball freezes in mid-air every time it's passed?

And no, it's not only happening to Nani.
 
Theres an annoying glitch where if I grab something like a player to make a sub or where he runs, it doesn't let me ungrab and my cursor just gets stuck on that, meaning I can't save, click continue or anything. Annoying.

Anyone else got that?
 
I really like the game, but feck me the database is from 2008 a part from the star players (Ronaldo, Ferdinand etc.)
 
Do you have to play the matches in 3D? Is it possible to switch to the format from FM2008 for the matches?
