I found this version of the game very slow, couldnt get into it, too many things to do pre match.
But then again I thought that about the last game, got into that more near the end of the season and played about 6 years with a Portsmouth team and won the treble

Is this game worth buying yet with the newest patch out?
if you played the earlier version, the you will love this one as well, no doubt there were problem, but as the patch started rolling out alot has been fixed, might be good present for yourself over xmas.

Apparently the latest patch was supposed to 'fix' Arsenal. Well, it hasn't for me. In the game that screenshot is from, which is the "FM09 Experiment" thing I talked about earlier, they've now won the first 5 league titles. They've also set the points record with 94 points. Ridiculous.
They've lost 6 of their first 19 games in my post patch restart, confidence has a lot to do with it, Tottenham are top having started the season well
My 'good Arsenal' trumps your 'bad Arsenal'. I mean.. 5 in a row?! No ones ever done 4 in a row, and 3 in a row is a serious rarity. I've never, ever seen an FM where United (AI) goes on to win 4-5 league trophies in a row.
Oh, and United just finished 6th, below Newcastle.

So is it worth getting? I'm thinking of it, haven't played a version since 03 or so. Or do the bugs stuff it so much that I'm better looking at last seasons version?
It's very good, I do think the Tactical Theorems & Frameworks document is required reading, the sliders are a complete mystery otherwise

If I said it's not worth getting I'd be lying. Despite my frequent complains over Arsenal et all, I've put down a hideous amount of hours into it already. If you haven't played it since 03 it should be quite a different experience. One of the main complaints (though I recognize it as something that can't really change) is that the next version is rarely very different from the last. Though over 5-6 years it'll be different all right.

My brother just got me the handheld version for the psp for Christmas anyone played this version?
Your registry is somehow screwed up. Do any other programs work?
For Windows XP, download the EXE File Association Fix, following the instructions at the top if necessary, and give it another spin.

I don't think it will, it is save game compatible but going on whats been said it is database changes that have been made to the Arse so that won't effect a save game

Well yeah, apparently the biggest Arsenal-nerfing changes were with the game engine. Apparently, though I'm not 100% sure.
same problem with Arsenal in 2008...am playing with United (too poor to buy 2009) Arsenal have lost one game (against me) all season...
