I spoke to my Asst Manager, Graeme Souness, and he said “the lazy xxxxing foreign w*nker only gets four assists per game - I don’t care how many medals he’s xxxxing got, bin the useless tw@t!!!” (I left out some swear words).

Feck all good it's done me too. What's the point in having 190 PA if he does nothing.
 
I seem to be consistently between 2nd and 6th, but last three seasons have finished 6th, 6th and 5th, missing CL agonisingly by 2-3pts. Hoping my youngsters like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar start getting more game time.

NM's team looks like that Inter side from late 90's. Put a bunch of defenders on, put a supporting striker up top, sit back and kick it towards Ronaldo.
This was worse than the one from 2003! Although the turnaround in the shoot-out was dramatically perfect, to win one after missing two opening penalties in a row!

I know, I've been thinking about this flaw. Part of it is that the database is meant to be played with all the classics on their club sides so the oldies would be boosting a bunch of sides that are nowhere near super powers today and not blocking players like Xavi or Messi. If I was ever to do this again, I'd spend more time editing the database to take that into account and also run the draft to only about 14-16 players so everyone's top picks would be starters from the beginning.

Becks was crucial to Igor winning but poor Messi only started 7 matches in league with 12 sub appearances :eek:

Xavi is most likely the run-off-the-mill early 00s one. He was a late bloomer so was never going to hit the ground running regardless.

I was clear that sort of thing was going to happen so made a point of not getting great oldies blocking my top tier more recent players. In practice, I basically got a bunch of comparatively shite squaddies in the process who probably don't fancy themselves as anything but first teamers (which they normally would be indeed). All this while calling myself Dream Team and hiring the wrong players for the actual tactics.

It's a fecking mess, no wonder Cholo isn't active in the market, probably still scratching his head wondering what the feck I was thinking.

Should have gone with him from the start and choked everyone to death. Football is a simple game, why overthink it?

Two sides are consistently near the top. @Edgar Allan Pillow attack with Cruyff, Kalle, Stoichkov, and Shevchenko and @NM 's Inter like defense that gets 10 people behind the ball and uses Fenomeno to score goals.

I've lost Picchi, ffs! He was the only player who was more or less the only mainstay on those league individual statistical tops. Are our finances fecked? I seem to be selling players season after season without any real upgrades (signed Benetti from Gio but sold him already!).

Looks like an inevitable journey to mediocrity after the lucky 4th place last season.

I think part of the problem is, every team is so strong, even the most unlikely candidate could end up winning.
5 1/2 years in and we've had 5 different winners and the current top 4 have never won the league, so it really is a toss of a coin

Skizz being top of the league even though a 250/1 outsider at the start.

I think the only really worthy winner so far was that Igor lad

Not really. Every team start rich and I gave everyone a Backend sugar daddy but the classic players are all on contracts from 100K/week to 250K/week so every team has massive wages and is slowly selling some players (also why we aren't seeing big transfer moves from the AIs between Redcafe clubs). I did read on the latest version of this (2020) they switched the finances and limited the contracts for players so it wouldn't get outrageous.
