Time to run another?
You thought there was no chance of a return. But we are back (for at least four more seasons with limited updates!). I will be able to make updates this week until Friday. Then going out of town and unsure when the next update will be so let's enjoy at least one more week of Legends football at the end of summer!
First, there will be no transfers by managers, everything will be simmed.
Second, I did not find my latest save file so there is a new transfer window between S1-S2 (although some are the same) and season 2 has to be re-simmed. I apologize but at least I was able to revive my save file at the start of S2!
Third, there will be no more weekly updates. I am taking a page from @Solius' book and just giving summer, January and final season updates.
After Season 3 I will provide new screenshots of the teams. After S2 there will be a change that will go into effect after S3.

Doesn't hurt either to have Pelé and Netzer. I wondered how these feckers had so much quality while I had Fritz Walter carrying the team... then remembered I went all hipster and prioritised drafting for Cruyff, only for him to play Romario, Krol and van Hanegem sparingly and not even sticking to a 3-4-3 diamond.
Could be worse you could be me fighting to not finish bottom every year. Keane somehow seems to never misplace a pass though and Bobby Moore is stopping me getting trounced every game.

@Gio is continuing his league dominance while our first CL winner, @antohan is trying for a rare two in a row CL run. @simonhch and @Invictus @Ecstatic are also still in the hunt for the CL while @Igor Drefljak and the @RedTiger @Enigma_87 sides are looking for that Europa win.
@Tuppet has been sanctioned and 3 of his players will be removed at the end of season 3 and placed on the 18th-20th place teams from last season.

Not as shit as Di Stéfano, who is just an average central midfielder apparently.
Issue with ADS is he could play so many roles that other picks would condition his use.
Trying to force/trick your manager into the "correct" use is pointless though. I picked loads of squaddies with vetter players available, hoping to ensure Cruyff would use the ones I wanted used in certain ways.

Neither are playing like shit. They are both getting around 7.5 average game rating which is way better than most players in a normal database. Its mostly just the competition is very good and we are seeing the limitation in the older match engine (and AI in general) where they haven't implemented a "playstyle" or taking into account the full impact of idiosyncratic players like Di Stefano or Beckenbauer or Cruyff's coaching style

Simon and Invictus/Ecstatic get the tough quarter-final draw in the CL while Anto and Gio get comparatively easy sides. @P-Nut has moved out of the basement. Tuppet sides is struggling with ongoing investigations.
Sidenote now I remember the weirdness of the matches here, some reason its scheduling a match or two every day of the week and some sides have played 5 more matches than others. Good thing they fixed that in newer editions.
