Two fantastic sides and close final as expected,out of both my favorite is Skizzo's and would have voted him,but to keep this final a close contest,voting Cal.

It didn't really expose any flaws, just that it's the style that is the most likely to get results against Tiki-taka.

Also, I'm not entirely sure your keeper deserves a place in a game like this.

Aye it's not that much of an issue in light of how cautiously ragged the opening 10 minutes usually are in big games. See how Barcelona started in the 2 CL finals against United.

Except then you have one team playing that opening 15 minutes, then subbing out two players from the middle of the park, and asking them to change the style they started with...setting them back again.

But, we can agree to disagree on how big an issue it is. Although one team prepared, and one team not, can give an edge in games like these :)

Well, the current vote of 23-19 has maintained the gap when I changed the formation (when it was 5-1), so I blame the wrong tactics for the loss of this tie. :mad:

It depends a little bit on your own perspective on these drafts but for me the only addition I would make would be to move Messi to the right and then replace him with Cruyff. Cruyff adds more pure pace to the role and otherwise would play that role very similar to Messi and he proved he thrived in a pressing defense as well and is one of the creators of the entire tactic so he'll understand it fully without a doubt.

Bar that you can either go with Henry/Ribery who played in the tactic, or someone who has the traits to do the role great like Stoichkov. Maybe you could play Cruyff on the left and go with another all-time quality striker with a good defensive work rate but for me that feels too off.

For me Busquets stays but everybody has their own take on him. In my opinion he is so specialized in one-touch possession play that if you replace him you slow down the entire triangle. Schweinsteiger would be the only other really viable option for me but everybody will have their own favorite for the role.

The defense is a lot more fantasy like though as Barcelonas defense haven't been very impressive. You wan't players who can play in a high line and who are great with the ball but there are plenty of ways to take that.

Cruyff is certainly someone who could work well in such a system.

I was thinking something like:

It's not a Barca replica but I think it keeps the essence of tiki-taki but provides even more goals (Suarez instead of Iniesta for example) and variety. Busquet's one touch passing is probably marginally better than Rikjaard's but the latter provides a more rounded skill set.

That front three would work excellently. Not sure about Zico or Scholes for that matter. The former is a bit too much of a 10 for me and Scholes loved his long passing. I reckon L. Suarez would be great in place of Iniesta. The big difficulty is replacing Xavi- someone with metronomic short passing and excellent touch.

I have no doubt in my mind that Scholes would fit like a glove in there, he mainly played the long passing game as that was the tactic for most the time, him to create space for our wingers and attackers. ....as for Zico, he and Cruyff are probably my two favourite players from the ones i didnt watch so i had to put him in + think he would do well in that role of a floating playmaker.
