What 45 minutes? Sorry Deschamps conservatism has cost them the tournament, the 'lucky general' got found out. They've had home advantage and all the decisions since the opening game.
 
France were awful. After beating Germany it's like they couldn't handle being favourites and just played within themselves

Well done Portugal, I'm actually glad they won it. Didn't imagine I'd be saying that a few hours ago!!

Actually, 3 wins over the tournament, winning in ET is very much winning.

The match still goes down as a draw. Germany beat italy on penalties but Germany still have not beat Italy officially.

portugal were not the best team in the tournament, its a fluke win imo.
 
Frank Leboeuf couldn't sound more bitter right now. He's saying that it was anti-football and that nobody will remember this final in a few years. He's struggling to contain it.

I remember his hilarious "but we won the World Cup.." shtick. Well, you lost the Euro 2016 final on home territory, Frank :lol:

Indeed. He still has a ways to go in development and I doubt Mourinho will put up with it.
 
The onus was on the French to take the game to Portugal and they didn't do it. Not pretty but a totally deserved win for the Portugese!!

Winning on penalties the results are recorded as: 0-0*
Winning in ET the results are recorded as: 0-1 (AET)

How is that not winning?

I don't like bitterness like this tbh, yes it is frustrating but they're the champions and of course they will be remembered for years and years. Greece are still talked about.
 
Deschamps is a poor manager. If France is to make any progress with this generation of players he has to go.

I shouldn't be a douche about it, just frustrated with people discrediting Martial left and right and claiming it's right that he has been rotting on the bench.

Nani was immense for Portugal as well.

Sorry this one is not on Deschamps, in the same time frame Coman showed far more. It's upto Martial to show it in training and earn his place back in the team. Being an automatic starter at United and good performances in the qualifiers have seem to have gone to his head. He better snap out of it pronto when he returns to United or Mourinho will send him packing soon enough.

Complaining they finished 3rd and qualified is like complaining the 5th placed team winning the playoff. Everybody knew the rules before they entered the tournament.

Who's to say they wouldn't have got a late winner against Hungary if they needed it?
 
France pretty much reminded me of United from last season. Benzema's quality would have made a difference.
