Gareth made some poor choices today. Saka and Henderson just weren't at it and the pressure on Rashford, Sancho and Saka was ridiculous.

The best team won. I know he is the sacred cow we can't criticise, but Southgate let a home final totally go away from him. The game was lost in the second half where we chasing shadows the entire time. Tension in the home crowd became more of a disadvantage and nullified the home advantage. He didn't put on our players that can keep the ball and Wembley slowly turned into a morgue as we were put under the cosh. Mancini did the opposite and played on the front foot making tweaks to put them on the front foot.
Shit way to lose any trophy. No blame for any player taking a penalty for me.

That's just disgusting. The amount of abuse Saka is going to get off the back of this as well. Even if he said he was up to it (probably not knowing any better at his age), he had to be overruled as the last penalty taker. Had to. Southgate has been appalling for the majority of this tournament, but that's just criminal of him.

England didn't capitalize on their first half pressure, then when Italy got hold of the midfield Southgate just stood there, we needed a 3rd CM but he took Rice off and brought Henderson on so nothing changed. Chiellini is such a thundercnut, should have been off for that foul on Saka, ref bottled it along with Mountgate. For all the fellating Jenas was giving our 2 midfielders the gulf in class between them and the Italians on the ball was so evident.

I feel for the young lads. They are going to carry this for the rest of their careers. But you cannot point fingers at them. They stepped up and took responsibility. Where were Grealish and Stearling when it counted? They are more experienced and should have taken responsibility instead of Sancho and Saka.

Eh? Rashford does that all the time and he sent the keeper the wrong way, he was just inaccurate with the shot. That could be put down to the fact that he hardly played and barely got 3 minutes on the pitch today.
I think Italy deserved that overall. Felt like Southgate waited for Italy to score before he reacted.
