Gaming Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (PS5)

I'm generally a bit fed up of open world bloat at this point but I think they've largely managed tp make it fun in this. It's enjoyable to traverse the world with these characters, and chocobos are better to use than most mounts, plus some of the side quests are fun and quirky. Definitely some of the mini games are a big miss (the moogles, fort condor, sniffing with the chocobos) but overall it's a blast.

And yes, feck Chadley, little twerp.
Speaking of moogles, I haaate how ugly they are in this game. Give me the FF9 moogles over these ones any day.

my major disappointment so far is no rocket town - I’m on Chapter 12 now so assume is Gold Saucer > Temple of the Ancients > Forgotten Capital.

Love Rocket Town in the original, Cids backstory and his relationship with Sheila, Shinra turning up and destroying the Bronco, Palmer Fight etc. hoping they haven’t done away with it completely and it’ll be included in any DLC or the third game.

Fort Condor is unnecessarily difficult for me

it's stupidly hard and very random as to whether you'll win or not. Can only assume they'll fix it in a patch because a lot of people are complaining. A work around right now is to temporarily lower the game to Easy difficulty for it as it makes it much easier too.

I'm just glad that they made it so you don't have to do the hard mode version to get any reward...that would just be painful.

Unsure if I should go back an hour (saved the game right before) and redo the parade to get over 100k.

My fingers are done for after over an hour of sit ups against Jules! Champion belt was not worth haha

How I managed it in the end, and hard mode. Use ballistas right next to you bird cannons, so they shoot them as they funnel through, I did 2 on the right and one in left. Save your clerics till at the towers.

I'm in the same spot, don't think they'll do rocket town cause of Cid's backstory is seen as abusive to Shera.

Queens Blood complete!
The last one is a toughie. Won by luck rather than persistence.

Tidying up bloat at the end of Ch12.

Jonny inn stuff? Makes sense. At least I can do that last when they've hopefully fixed it!
just need to complete the game on hard, not the fort condor mini game.
You need to collect every collectible in the game for the inn to get a trophy (and thus the platinum). The hard mode versions of the minigames have their own collectible separate from the normal version.

The chicken mission is possibly one of the worst side quests I've played on any game.

I just finished Chapter 9 yesterday, it was big. Doing all the intel/side quests/mini game stuff can make the game slow down in terms of progress but really enjoy most of it so don't mind.

Also Fire + Ice - Elemental on Attack and Enemy Skill - HP Absorption on Def set-up for Cloud is OP.

Yeah I’ve stopped at Chapter 12 to try and clear everything up.

Piano mini game is addictive, managed to get A on them all for the trophy but want to try and get the S.

Piano is a lot more fun than I expected it to be.

Chapter 9 was epic. I feel less inclined to do any of the open world nonsense as the story ramps up tbh.

I feel like I might need to though, as the last boss in chapter 9 felt like a huge difficulty spike. Pretty much every pheonix down I had in the back pocket since starting the game had to be used.

Definitely sounds like you need to do some open world stuff or change the setup as it shouldn't have been that hard.

2nd worst in the game. Easily the most tedious though. Took me ages to understand how to do it properly.

Games gone completely off the rails dunno if I love it or hate it.

It's at the point where it's reached a nonsensical confusing point even by FF standards.

Which is the worst for you?

It's just so clunky in the mechanics. Hated it. The fecking chocobo glide one is an awful mini game too because it works sometimes and other times it doesn't. Nearly had a heart attack trying to three star it just now.

The worst side quest is in the saucer, don't think it's open till end of Ch12 but it's for me at least stupidly difficult.

It's not annoying like the chicken minigame but I think it's the only side quest I'm not gonna bother finishing (along with any gated behind it). There's nothing in it that's not in the saucer by default though.

I think chickens, moogles, leap frog and fort condor were all poor additions. FC needlessly difficult, the others very janky.

Two legs? Nothin' to it was really hard to star

As was the last Glide de Chocobo mini game.

Confident I will plat this though.
