Gaming Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (PS5)

Hamaguchi said that they’ve finished the first build of the final game. I think we’re going to get a teaser at the Game Awards, with a release around the 30th anniversary in 2027.

For me the key thing across these remakes is that the central characters feel the same as they did in the orginal, which is easier said than done when you're trying to remake them decades later with hours more expanded content and an altered storyline.

Complaints about an abundance of mini-games are just quibbles when the fundamentals of the game are so good.
The problem with all the mini games for me is that there were a lot that you had to complete in order to progress the story, like Costa del Sol and the Gold Saucer. I wouldn't have minded them so much if they were all optional.

But I agree with the overall sentiment that it was a fantastic game and a technical marvel.
