I'm new to the game myself but went with Depay as my striker as he is cheap but works well in the game, Fekir is a good link to him at CAM position too and is another cheapish but very good player in that position. I have those 2 and Martial and Fred too who is also a really good player in game, so a bit of a hybrid. My team is by no means amazing but works well.
Firstly though before all of that I unlocked the coin boost rewards in the ea catalog (click right stick in on main menu and depending on what level you are at you can get unlocks like 10x1k etc) so you get an extra 1k after each match. I did that and practiced the game in offline mode with my bronze starter team and after each game got the 1k extra reward from my coin boost. Pretty fast I had some coins to work with did a bit of sniping on the market and also did the SBC's such as hybrid nations ect as these are usually a good profit (you can get tips on how to do them on the futbin website under SBC tab)
Division rivals is good as you get good prizes, last week was the first time I played them, think it was Wednesday and by Thursday I was given a choice of packs or something like 27k, it didn't take much effort at all apart from playing the game. I have just about 300k now and I haven't spent any money on packs and haven't had any good players in packs like SBC packs. Just mainly playing the game and sniping bargains and reselling them. It helped as in the ea catalog I had access to lots of the coin boost unlocks, it all added up to around 70k ish about.
