Gaming FIFA 19

I played you, on PC that is.
United badge - check
Roy Keane - Check (I know you've sold him, but it's your dream team)
Pogba - Check

Haha I think you'll find a lot of United fans with that as the dream side

He's worth 4k on Xbox just made 500 coins on 1

Finished on 17 wins. 2 games left
Had a very up and down day. Not to make an excuse, but button lag felt terrible this morning.

Either way, I'd have snapped your hand off for 17 wins before it started.
My only gripe right now is, I feel thats it. I can't see me every doing better than that really, only worse, so it just feels like it'll be all down hill from here

Needed 4 wins from my final 4 to get to the 20th win and Gold 1, you'll be surprised to hear that I won the first 3 and went on to lose the final game on penalties. :(

Sold my entire team and I have 850k, think I'll play only untradables until black Friday price drop and see what I can put together then.

When's that?

When's that?

Think its about a month (23rd of November) but prices will probably gradually drop from middle of the month and then dramatically from Black Friday. Reading the forums lots of people sold their teams in advance (not as early as me mind, I was just raging after WL) and bought it back for 2/3 of the price after the drop.

Yeah I'm considering it, will see what rewards I get this weekend and go from there. My team isn't far from being the perfect premier league side now.

Sane Jesus Potm Lucas
Pogba Eriksen
Firmino
Mendy Azpiliceuta Sanchez Walker
De Gea

Only things I really want to change are Aubameyang for Jesus which I should be able to do on Thursday, and Eriksen for De Bruyne, however that isn't as urgent as Eriksen has been unreal since bringing him in.

I loved Eriksen last year? Was great for me. That's a phenomenal team. It's a pity theres no better LB than Mendy in the prem.

Yeah it was one of the main reasons I tried switching to a hybrid side. Before having Sanchez, Azpi was the only centre back I felt happy with so wanted to change both positions.

I could possibly add Varane, Hernandez and Courtois if Hernandez ever gets an in form at LB.

There is always legends as well but they are crazy expensive for the position I'd be needing one.

Yeah Roberto Carlos is only decent icon LB and he's stupid expensive, Maldini and Zanetti are better elsewhere. I've got Hernandez CL card and its quite good.

Has anyone used IF Pickford? Considering selling Dr He's as I've got him untradable

I got him in my WL rewards and his shortness costs him a little bit, I dropped him for Neto because he doesn't get to any finesse shots, at least my other keepers got to the odd one that wasn't perfectly timed. Pickford gets to none.

Maybe throw him in for a few rivals games and see, but I found it an issue.

Yeah I don't get chance to play much rivals nowadays, basically just rely on weekend league getting me high enough up the reward ladder.

Don't quite get understand how I manage to be in tier 1 at the moment despite playing about 5 games. Surely more than 15% of active players play 28 weekend league games?.

I'm the same I play WL and ease into Rank 1 with maybe 5-10 games of rivals (Div 5). Generally if I get a new player I'll try him in rivals to see what I think. But I wouldn't say I play 10 games per week. I think that 15% is probably fair as I'd imagine that 70% of the games owners actually play more than 10-15 games per week in total.

Did the Koke SBC, cost me about 5k in total after what I got back in packs (mainly through packing Otamendi in MegaPack). Guys a beast with his current boosts.

With an artist he's 92 rated LM/RM and a 91 rated CM and CAM.
With a guardian he's an 85 rated DM with good attacking traits and the already mentioned 90 pace.

Hugely recommend him to anyone with 50k lying around. You'll get most your cash back and he's an awesome sub if you can't fit him in the team.

Might have a look at that. Need a sub for Eriksen / Pogba and need someone quality as I feel shit taking them off otherwise.

I had loads of 83 and 84 rated untradeable CL players so figured I might as well use them to get Koke. Got Alex Sandro in the first pack and Fabinho in the second :D

Was getting bored of my team so I've sold everyone and now I'm sitting on 1.47m. Might try get 90 Henry

I was hardly going to discuss the game that much but wanted to see how people are finding it, only to see several pages of people discussing who they bought and sold on FUT and for how much... Surely it's time for a separate FIFA 19 FUT thread?

That’s probably because a lot of people are not enjoying the game. I played it for the past month. They need to tone down AI assistance for defending. They finally sorting out the over head kicks.

I’m not really sure about timed shooting especially if the game is lagging and you accidentally press shoot twice which triggers a weak ass shot. Do you have it on @Eddy_JukeZ? I know the finesse shots with it are overpowered but when the servers are shit there’s not a lot you can do. FUT is just a sweat fest now with Rivals and weekend league. There’s no relaxing mode you can do with your team now divisions is gone. They should put a coop mode in and also would be nice to have a 5vs5 Fifa street mode.

The main issue is the servers are causing inconsistent gameplay and a lot of weird shit I have seen on Twitter. I sort of feel sorry for Jukez because I’d hate to be a pro and have to play weekend league and rivals every week. The servers are shocking. I’ve just taken a break from it and just sticking to pro clubs and seasons.

The game is decent in patches but it has a lot of faults too. I just don’t get who EA are targeting. They wanna push Esports in the game. But the game is definitely not made with Esports in mind. The pay to win aspect is annoying, I know pros need to do this but that’s on EA. They need to come up with something better competitive idea wise and gameplay because it’s not working at the moment. Imagine paying money to buy better guns in fortnite or counter striker and then trying to qualify for tournaments with them. That would be stupid. They need to level the playing field, but EA would never do that. I have no doubt if there was a competitive mode with equal rating teams that Jukez and the other pros would wipe the floor with nearly everybody. My issue is that suddenly a lot of shocking you tubers and streamers who spent obscene amount of money on their teams are suddenly doing well on the game. It’s never going to be esports or competitive when it has a pay to win aspect.

This is only a few that I picked out from the EA forums. I sort of wish this shit happens in a competitive final or something as harsh as it sounds, but it’s probably the only way EA will probably changed when the media is on them.

I can't comment on FUT or professional gaming but gameplay is very hit and miss. I liked it at first but then grew to hate it again and will be trading this for RDR2 today. I might pick it up later if some issue have been resolved but at this point it's a waste of money for me to keep this on my shelf as I will play maximum 2 games a week before dropping it.

They are patching it slowly this year, so maybe by Xmas it will reach ok levels. But honestly you won’t be missing much.

The gameplay for me is ok. yes there are crazy goals and glitches every so often but they don't happen nearly as often as made out on the forums. People just jump on the one goal they concede due to a glitch and run with it. Imho, the pace of the game is much better than 18, playing tiki taka is harder. Dribbling is maybe a tad too slow and could be turned up a tiny bit. AI defending is a little OP but if you watch the best players they still manually defend so when you are good at it, it obviously works better (i'm not).

I'd give the gameplay maybe 6/10, 7 if it didn't bug out every so often.

The issue i have is the game has been a 6 or 7 for quite a while now and they don’t seem to listen to feedback. They just make it up as they go along.

The last true great Fifa game was 12. I enjoyed it from that period between 09-12. They weren’t perfect games, but skill was rewarded. But with each passing game they taking skill out and making it more random. So they can attract casual players, but yet market it as some competitive game too.

To be fair those glitches should not be happening. Keeper stuck in your net. Keepers dropping a simple catch and then not responding or a keeper actually scoring from his own box. It’s embarrassing and every week there’s something hilarious posted on twitter or forums. The net code or something about the game online is a issue. It’s hilarious for me. But imagine if that was in a tournament.

I agree 100%, but to EA its stops 80% of their userbase forfeiting Weekend League and Rivals games when they are 4-0 or 5-0 down after 20 in game minutes. From their point of view it makes perfect sense to do the opposite to what the better players and youtubers want. 12 year old kid gets the game, does well in his division rivals qualifier and gets say division 5. First game 5-0 down after 20 minutes to some good player who got relegated to that division for easy rewards, quits (doesn't even have to be rage, just no point in playing on). Second game 5-0 down to some good player who did the same (game is turned off, probably not switched on again, or traded for something else.)

You only have to look at how easy it is to get top 15% in division rivals, in Div 5 you have to play your weekend league games and maybe 3-4 more matches. Most of the games owners play 1-2 hours per week. People underestimate how many casual players there are and how many EA have to keep motivated to keep coming back to the game even though they are shite at it. They need those casual players for Fut to a, line their pockets and b, to keep a fairly balanced market. If you cut off 80% of the Fut userbase due to lack of interest, being sick of getting hammered etc.. No one can afford the better players, a smaller userbase are spending less and every is still fielding a team with Martial, Dembele, Jesus etc... at christmas. Good players might want a bigger skill gap but EA most certainly don't.

Basically Fut and loot boxes killed any skill gap but its in EA's interest to keep it getting smaller, but hey if I'm in EA's position I'm doing the same because I love money.

Grumpy old man rant coming up: While its on EA its also on modern gamers who can't accept that there is someone better and will walk away from a game if its too difficult instead of accepting a challenge, not one person under 18 I know would make it across the bridge at the start of the first level of Dragons Lair on the NES because they want something they can play an be good at from the off, they don't want to learn and get better.

A little off topic but to sum it up, in Dishonored 1 - there is a part where you go to the bottom of a stairs and a guard says "hey you can't go up there", instead of trying to figure it out, they simply walked around the mansion down stairs for hours and presumed you couldn't go up stairs. All you had to do was sneak up. The percentage of players willing to try it was so low, that Arkane had to put in an NPC to tell the player, "hey sneak upstairs".

It's an issue with modern gaming that companies have to cater for, its why multiplayer first person shooters code in aim assistance which gets better, the more you die in a particular game. More you die, the worse your shooting can be and the more it will hit the target.

Grumpy rant about young fellas over:

Agree on the glitches as well, but that seems to be the way with every AAA title now. Keepers need patching and how that ai got through testing I'll never know, but I will say for every game of Fifa played this happens in maybe 0.01% of them. There are just so many matches being played that these things will happen.

They have released a patch today:

Here is the full patchlist

Highlights of this patch:

  • Bicycle kicks are now more likely to be impacted by error resulting in potentially less accuracy, speed and spin. Players with lesser than 80 agility/no Flair trait will not automatically do it. Bicycle kicks will now only be done if player gets the ball in the open (no more bunched up bicycles).

  • The latency bars in Division Rivals were not properly updating based on the latency to the dedicated game server location being used for the match.

  • The change to your Skill Rating was not being visually depicted as part of the end of the match flow in Division Rivals after a loss

  • You can now make changes to your Game Plans in the Pause Menu during a match. It will be temporary (only for that match)

  • Your opponent’s FUT Club Established Date, FUT Club name and Squad Name will no longer be displayed.

  • Lots of goalkeeper fix
-Gk not picking up the ball near them

-GK trapping the ball instead of clearing outside box under pressure

-Unable to control GK using R3 if he rushes out automatically

-GK diving away from shot if you manually control using R3 to position

-GK not picking up the ball after knocking it down with a tip down save

  • Sometimes a player would remain suspended in the air for a prolonged period of time following a mid-air collision.

That was all definitely needed I'd say, apart from maybe the club name and squad name. Just remove the established dates, and it would have been fine.

@padr81 to add to what you said above, I was speaking to a guy at work yesterday about the new call of duty. He wants to trade it in already as he hasn't had more than a couple of kills per game on the new blackout mode.

He's had it for 2 days. I tried explaining that it took me about 2 months to get more than that on pubg when it was first released and that you have to stick with it, learning as you go along, but it's as though he's a child and will only play a game when he is by far the best on it. He's 30 years old for Christ sake, it's like he can't handle a bit of a challenge.

Packed Kroos earlier and thought I was on to a winner with 100k or so, nope 50k for a 90 rated midfielder :boring:
