If I got that, I'd be happy considering it's my first ever WL, but at one point I was sat 9/5 I think it was.

Some of the bollocks that have happened in my games is unreal. In one match alone I hit the bar 4 times. It's not even worth saying all the crap, but anyway, 2 games for a win.

I'm struggling with the same tactics atm, these players don't even seem good, just efficient.
Every cnut behind the ball, make it as hard as possible for me to break them down, and because they have everyone behind the ball, my CDMs come forward and out of posistion. When they win it, a hoof up front to Lucas, Jesus, Vardy, Rashford or Mbappe, and somehow my defence forget how to position themselves

Also considered swapping my Bundesliga players for La Liga. Not looked at the costs yet but Varane or Ramos are a massive upgrade on Boateng. Rodriguez would drop to the bench most likely but I'd sell Alaba and Thiago.

Anyone got any better suggestions?

Alot of the top players swear by Varane I think, Varane, Alba/Marcelo and ? is an interesting question though, not alot of quick midfielders in La Liga this season. Modric is the only top one with decent pace.

Just don’t like it one bit. Admitingly I’m not the best player but I only play offline and am already sick and tired of conceding an overhead kick every single game whilst playing in league two. The constant lack of any updates to career and player career mode makes me want to give up but like a fool every year I buy. This could be my last.

How many players have you got on get in the box? I was watching Nepenthez (I watch his vids too much) and was was saying a pro told him that having more than 3/10 for players in the box sees your DM's get too far forward. Once he set that it fixed it. I've been using the tactic posted by Macern and that has 3/10 for players in the box and find it makes my DM's sit deeper but if I play too much passing around the oppo box they wander forward. Iaa9Skillz combats this by buying slow DM's because they don't get forward as quick, he used it as the basis for his Keane.

I like Matic because he sits deeper than Dembele or Fabinho, maybe his lack of pace helps there too, I disliked Fabinho and I'm not sold on Dembele (think its the medium, medium work rates). I think the high def workrate and medium attacking is important to me this year.

I'm pretty shite at the game in general though so let the AI do almost all my defending while I control my CAM all the time without the ball.

I’ve used Hamsik for around 100 matches now and he’s very good. 5* week foot is invaluable and if you make use of the fake shot and drag back it can make up for his lack of 4* skills. Passing is immaculate and shots from outside the box are on point. He’s also good at ghosting into the box and popping up with goals, too. The only thing I would say is that despite his 84 stamina he does fade around the 70 minute mark; however, this may be in part to him getting forward so much. I have untradeable SMS so I bring him on for the last 20 minutes of a match. Snag yourself a decent impact sub to bring on for Hamsik, would be my advice.

Having said that, I’ve used Allan for around 150 matches and he’s superb. Slap a Catalyst chem style on him and he gets through a monstrous amount of work in the midfield. My plan was to upgrade him to Radja by now but he’s been so reliable that I’m in no rush to do so.

The stay back while attacking only seems to work if you attack quickly and score or lose possession.
Keep hold of the ball for 6 or 7 passes and they come into play.
Tbh, they sort of need to because without you'd sometimes lack that outlet, so I'm fine enough with that. They absolutely garbage part is as every cnut uses deep as feck tactics, they invite you forward and just wait for that mistake. As soon as they do they ping it up top and due to passing being so accurate you can find your sole attacker or 2 and hit us on the break. Absolutely annoying.

I know passing needs to be somewhat accurate or the game would be so hard, but being able to pass around as easy as it is means this ridiculous counters

Anyway, back home with my internet, that actually works and I made a guy quite 4-0 down after 30mins. Got my 14 victories, so I'm happy

Hmmmm, Mandzukic was my go to legend on Fifa 14. Was an absolute monster.
I was on the verge of getting his card this year but went with Immobile due to being a bit quicker. I've not really used crossing much this game, maybe I should give him a shot

Yeah was looking at Modric and Casemiro if I did go for the change.

I'll look at picking his IF up. Immobile is good when the chance arrives at his foot, which never requires his pace anyway. Even when I break with him, he's sluggish

Actually quite similar to my team. I use Manolas alongside Skriniar, that might be an option for you if you’re interested in upgrading De Vrij. I’ve also used the CL version of Ghoulam fairly extensively and he would be a good stop-gap for you between Kolarov and saving for Alex Sandro. Finally, not sure if you’re enjoying Pjanic but my midfield 3 is Hamsik, Allan and the CL version of Nzonzi. If you find that Pjanic and Hamsik leaves you a little open in midfield, grab CL Nzonzi and set him to “Stay back while attacking” and “Cover centre” for defensive positioning. Huge presence in midfield and the ideal platform to allow your forwards/Hamsik to go and win the match for you.

Haven’t played any career mode; however, I’ve noticed that it’s more difficult against the AI in Squad Battles. Skill moves are now largely ineffective against the AI, even the previously OP stop and turn. Now the only thing I’ll try are the stopovers with the acceleration boost as you exit. Other than that it’s a case of becoming a long shot merchant and times finishes from just outside the box. Absolutely no fun to play that way, mind you. Not exactly conducive to becoming a better player either, as a decent play in Weekend League can shut those moves down much more easily.

Yeah I got gold one this week. Didn't play any the last 3 days. I could have snook Elite 3 today if I could be arsed playing a few matches but not even worth it.
If I try, I can get Elite 1 easy enough, but top 100 is a nightmare to even consider

In a way I feel like Gold 1 rewards are as good as Elite 3. 20k less coins, but you get two 100k packs instead of one and a TOTW pack. But these TOTW packs are more likely to offer you 3 players worth about 11k each whereas you're probably more likely to score a big name in a 100k pack.

I'm in league 5 now. Played a few good games and reached around 1300 skill points but it has been downhill since then. Lost around 5-6 in a row. Is playing with fast build up and constant pressure a bad tactic at this level or I'm just shite? I keep conceding silly goals on the counter. I play 4321. My full backs and one CM stay back but two of my midfielders make forward runs and all my front 3 make runs behind and stay up during defense.

I just got him. He has been really good for me. Always among the scorers. His finesse shots and long rangers are top quality!

I’ve done most SBCs, I’ve got the most expensive version of fifa, I’ve opened like three division rivals tier 2 reward packs, two weekend league rewards (one gold 1 and one elite 3), and this weekend my GF gave me £30 worth of fifa points to spend on the promo packs. The most expensive player I’ve packed is Azpilicueta. Pathetic isn’t it?

Guess I used up my luck last year when I packed ADP early on.

Can you play well with Mertens? I'm rubbish with him as my striker. I find he can't dribble which is bizzare given its 90 rated. Must be me.

Also do you know if there is a good way to improve individual chemistry if a player is out of position?

I want Perisic or Insigne (both are currently LW) in a CAM role. I'd also want to convert one of them into a RW.
Chemistry drops to 3 when I try that though.. But some people manage to better the rating somehow.

I think the time you open packs have an impact on how good they are, I never open my packs straight after rewards are out as I have a feeling they reduce the pack odds because they know so many people are opening them I mean I’m probably wrong but whenever I open packs late at night or early morning I feel as though I have a better chance of packing something good lol. But yeah if I did use FIFA Points I would never use them on promo packs, if you’re a decent FIFA player it’s so much more worthwhile using them to enter the draft.

Not really. My team is worth around 700k and I’ve ‘only’ played around 170 games, and my pack luck has been shit. And haven’t spent any money either, apart from around £30 that my girlfriend gave me and I didn’t get anything decent from those packs.

If I was you, I'd use my formation, 4231 narrow, have a midfield of Mertens - Hamsik - Gomez
I play 3 or 4 matches and use a squad fitness. They tend to get around 80fitness before I do a full squad

I was using that, but with Pjanic instead of Hamsik and it worked well. Both have 4 start wf, so can come inside to shoot or go outside and cross
