All his cards are 90+ speed, he’s rapid
90+? He’s got 83, 79 and 83 pace. How is that over 90?
And he isn’t rapid. In fact he will get caught quite easily by quick defenders like Bailly or Valencia or Varane because they’re so much faster without the ball than he is with the ball.
Is one of you guys on about Carlos and other is talking about MVB?

I'm playing the 4-3-2-1 at the moment and use Son as a LF. I became really bored of the 4-1-2-1-2 and think I can do nothing more with it.
I use Son ad a LF with instructions of staying central and get in behind, so If I could get this card it'll be ridiculous.
I think a quick analysis and you’d have realized I was talking about Carlos, not MVB.
Van basten wouldn’t work for you because you need pace up front and you play the Meta way. I don’t, infant by not playing the meta way makes playing with MVB unpredictable. He’s fast enough for me, dribbling is definitely not an issue and his positioning is perfect.
Same can be said for you, why would I talk about speed and dribbling to get into good shooting positions for a defender? It should’ve been quite clear who I was referring to.
Do you really notice any difference between players who have high and low positioning?
Yeah definitely, they make more intelligent runs
I do, first noticed it on Thomas Muller in fifa 15/16, so i played him as a lone striker and he was always in the Right place. I play a passing game, slow build up so my players have time to actually get in position as opposed to one two ping ponging. For my style, van basten is the best ST I could use, and he has pace around him anyway which I can use to draw players out and give MVB more space. He’s a guaranteed goal with space.

I don’t really notice anything. Even if there is a difference they should make it much more influential. You’ll never come up against players like Müller or Blind in Fut champs because EA fail to compensate for the fact that on the ball decison making is removed because the gamers are in control of their players.
I guess there’s a difference between failing to and not having the technology/knowhow to replicate it in game as well as in real life. I just find that players with higher positioning stat tend to find space easier, especially in the box.
Yeah it’s not possible to implement a players intelligence into a game where they aren’t controlling themselves.
What does annoy me though is that they don’t even use that intellect when being controlled by the CPU. Players like Blind should position themselves better when defending etc as they do in real life.

Me too, bought Coutinho IF for having him as an AM sub, even if i rarely sub him in. I just like to have them in the club for no reason
Ok, I just played someone in FUT champs and I've never seen a team run around like that before. The pressure on the ball was insane. How have they done that? Do you guys use custom tactics and stuff?

I use 85 aggression, 65 pressure and 35 width. The key is abusing the R1 button and also being able to anticipate where your opponent is going to pass. Don’t cover off the ball runs made by the opponent, the CPU does that for you. Instead try to chase the ball like crazy. Don’t(!) play with midfielders who are poor at defending.
The PL has some OP players. Lallana, Jesus, Begovic and Bakayoko are all much better on average than the rating would suggest. I have problems against them nearly every time
Well, they do cover all the type of runs where the opponent plays a one-two and their cpu controlled player makes a straight run towards the goal. Most people manually cover these runs, giving the opponent a lot of time and space to do whatever they want. It’s far more effective to press L1 and switch to the defender closest to the ball and go for a tackle instead, as the CPU won’t do this. I’ve already played around 450 games and I’ve had success doing it this way.
Nah man. I appreciate your reply, but of the goals I concede I'd say a good 70% are from one-two's where the CPU has done nothing to try and track the run.
Slightly changed the 2nd team since I did a gold upgrade and got totgs Llorente so might as well use him. Also Nachos in form is only 40k so that's definitely worth it.. But got these 2 teams, with the exception of De Gea. Have 130k coins, then about 50 Piszecks, otw davinson Sanchez and If Insigne on the transfer list so I can get him, im just waiting for piszeck to go back up to 4k like he does for every sbc (and de gea to drop a bit as hes around 270k). Also have about 40 of this silver left back from the mls if that league sbc ever drops. Thought about just sitting on the coins til toty, but none of those were too expensive so I doubt they'd drop all that much. Messi the only one, and I got him for 800k when he's usually closer to 900k. Might drop to mid 700k briefly but will go back up for TOTY.
Haven't actually played apart from like 1 game every 2 weeks of squad battles since October, so hopefully the gameplay still isn't awful like it was then. I'm not too optimistic.

Charging players down, which gives me a chance to quickly switch to them and nick the ball. As soon as the oppo has it im right on top of them, have to be careful with the R1 button though as a few times I was just spamming it and pulled too many players out of position which could have cost me.
But once you use it properly and manual cut passing lanes it's pretty OP.
Now it makes sense. Was baffled as to how everyone in div 1 had super aggressive AI.

Been trying for a good 2 weeks to win division 1. 3 points needed, 4-2 up in the last game with 15 odd minutes to go. Rose makes 3 errors and I lose 5-4. I give up.
I find divisions is far more scripted-like than Weekend league, every fecking game there's a last minute goal. Always feels like theres a comeback in every match.
Totally agree. The amount of times I’ve conceded in the 20th minute of 2 minutes stoppage time is crazy.
This game is so frustrating. Final of DKT 3-2 up and I swear I should have saved the equaliser and uploaded it. Guy breaks down the wing, I make a great tackle but for some reason Deco after winning the ball decides to take a first touch Lukaku would be proud of, ball falls to opponent. I know exactly what he's going to do. 2nd man press with Matic and run Bakayoko into position to cut out the pass, ball goes through his legs and land with winger. Make a perfect tackle again with IF Young on Allesandrini, for some reason Young after knocking the ball away won't move despite me nearly pushing the anaolg stick out of the controller, the guys Kante gets to the ball. Takes a stupid shot from the corner of the box which I get in front of to block. I block the shot but my keeper (currently Bravo) dives anyway, blocked shot goes flying across the box at at least 3 times the pace the ball was before I blocked it and at a lower trajectory. Hits his striker square in the arse and literally rolls over the line at 0.0000000001 mph while my defenders just stand there watching and doing nothing (yet if I wanted them to stand still they'd be auto lunging and giving away peno's like they are being controlled by Robbie feckin Savage). Swear I could have hopped the controller off the ground.
Lucky enough I qualified on my next go with 3 goes to spare or my missus might just have had to sign me in (this time in the semi-final I got the scripting Gods on my side and the other guy got screwed, 3 kick off goals a pen and a red card for nothing for him). Think that actually made me angrier.
Also have to add, big mistake I ever made was selling half my team to do the Deco SBC can honestly say regular Eriksen (87 rated) is a far better CM than him (at least for me).
Anyway rant over this will be my team for the Weekend League and I'm going to get killed.

and yeah I use L2 to jockey and R2 to make them move even faster. L2+R2 is absolutely necessary when you get close to the opponentStinker again tonight. Just couldn’t even win on world class in squad battles. Struggled against the weaker teams, should have hammered the strongest chem and rating team but Neuer is a fecking wall

hahah I cant remember who but I went and opened a 'few' packs a couple of days ago. I got some random player like 7 times out of 20 packs that I opened. Think he was like 82 but you could pick him up for around 900 coins. Unbelievable.
Is there trick to opening packs or is it just dumb luck? Why cant I get the likes of Jesus 7 times, which would give close to couple hundred k or so?
Those packs are bound to be fixed. fecking hate EA. Pure wankers. I'm even more of a wanker for blowing 200 quid or so this year so far. I know it's not a lot but I promised myself never to buy another pack with real money.
I just play on professional. Seem to win most matches. Im on gold 1 at the minute but I don't think ill be breaking into elite 3 this week.
Lost my first 2 games on squad battles on monday but won the other 2, didn't play any at all tuesday then played 8 games last night (weds & thurs games) and won them all on legendary, went from around 5k points to just over 21k and 300 points off elite 3. Fully expect to get Elite 3 comfortably after playing the weekend games.
What I will say with squad battles, carry games over onto the next day as it seems to swing in your favour and it also helps you get fully into your rhythm.

200quid? That's absolutely insane. I've never spent a penny on that stuff and never will. Way too tight.
