Finally managed to get a half decent connection and won the needed games for gold 1. Felt like breaking the disc in 2 for a while there. Given me a lot of confidence for getting to elite though losing like 10 games because of bad lag means I should walk in when I get a lag free weekend.
Only had time to play 24 games with the shit teams, got 11 wins out of them. Used my 1mil to buy the 2 teams now (same as the ones on the page before, but with handanovic and oblak as the keepers) and it's such a big difference (as you'd expect). Mertens is quality (got 4 goals in my first game with him), as is Gomez behind him. Love using IF Pjanic and IF Brozovic too.
2 questions though. Is Isco over Asensio worth it, and is Matuidi over Khedira worth it?
Edit: Have gone 5 and 1 with the main teams. Gonna get to 18 wins and go to bed, but huge improvement.
Actually yep, got to 18, 7 wins and 1 loss after upgrading my teams. 18 wins in 32 games to end it. Feck using the shit teams from now on

He's alright, but he's slower than his stats suggest I think. I moved him deeper as he couldn't get up to support my attacks. Goretzka and Aranguiz were much more useful.

Has anyone used Gameiro? I pieced together a La Liga team with Herrera in there as well to do squad battles to see what it's like. Sold my TOTW De Bruyne card for 535k so looking at carrying on with La Liga. He's the only striker with decent pace and decent shooting that's affordable. Once I've used my coin boosts and saved up I'll move to Griezmann, has anyone played him as a lone striker?

I have Matuidi, he is excellent. But Marchisio/Hamsik are probably better.
Unlocked all the coin boosts under the impression that they stack. When one lot expired I stopped receiving it completely.

I made the same mistake, although I didn't notice them disappear completley as I have just re-used them after the 1st batch ends.
Was at 23-6, needed 6 from the last 11, but at 1am when i have to be up for work at half 8 i couldnt be arsed. So went for gold 1, and just exited games when they seemed like they are gonna be a struggle (if i went a goal down).

Yeah jumbo rare player packs are 100k when you can buy in the store. What day are rewards by the way? I can't remember from last year.

Speaking of rewards, packs Pique and Carrasco from my squad battle rewards (gold 1), sold them for an easy 55k, sitting at 109k now. I'm working all weekend this weekend so no WL for me, squad battles might be my only way to get anything decent this week. Hoping to be on about 300k by this time next week, and from there can use the money to upgrade my midfield and striker (I want Hamsik at CAM, and Mertens ST)
I had a look and there was a bid for over 400k with an hour left so quite a lot
I stuck him on for 480k Bin which was one of the cheapest on the auction so hopefully I'll get near that
Done the Neymar SBC, the hybrid leagues SBC, the hybrid nations SBC and the getting started SBC. Got Hamsik, and thats it. Never, ever get proper luck with packs. Will probably solve the hybrid league and nations as well, though. Maybe I'll get lucky once as well!

I've done every SBC except Mane's (done 2) and have packed rakatic and Gomes. The rest garbage or average.

You can never buy a totw pack. Only way to get one is finish elite. The jumbo rare players pack are the best you can get without getting that high.
Think I'm going to try these squad battles on ultimate, reckon it's the only way to get into top 100 which would make it worth the effort.
Sterling has to be the best player at such a bargain price as you'll ever get. Got him for 11k, and he's just tearing everyone apart. Him and Sane for 30k on each wing, and I dont really need to upgrade those ever.
I have Salah on the right over Sterling. Sterling is my bench player and he causes nightmares when he comes on in the 70th
Have they made defending easier? Seems everything is a lot more assisted now than it was a few days ago which is a shame.

He's good but inconsistent. I prefer his left footedness over Sterling for if I cut inside.
Going to switch to this before the weekend
Played six games in the weekend league for a friend yesterday, and he uses the 4-1-2-1-2(2) formation. I won all of the games and I performed better with his team than with my own, which is why I'm switching to that formation. It's weird how I now love formations that I used to hate in 17.

The diamond works so well because you can 30 yard laser pass straight to the strikers from your own box.

I'm hoping for the luck from years gone by, just a regular 150FP pack aswell!
