Gaming FIFA 17

What? I typed in the code, not planning on taking a taxi anywhere but those odds sound really good?

I don't get the option to choose 'GAME ON' on the app?

It was really good, for some reason it timed correctly. When the first guy in the office went outside to pick it up the next one got in the moment the uber driver drove away. The same lad came around three times in 10 minutes. It should be in London and a few other places tomorrow afternoon too I think. Check their site for details, it was really easy to make work and an easy 60 euro's for me.

Cheers. So, how did you know you got the game? Text message after saying well done yr a winner?

No, it was literally like hailing a cab in uber. There were a few cabs with copies in the game, and if you checked the app and tried to order one it would say no cars available usually. The moment one of the drivers wrapped up his stop and set his status to available, that would change and you could request him to come over. But instead of getting in the cab and driving to wherever, he just shook my hand, gave me the copy and drove off again.
This was the article we used: https://newsroom.uber.com/netherlands/fifa17-eng/

Amazon say they're currently out of stock of the standard edition on PS4. Pain in the arse, but I shouldn't have left it this late to pre-order. My question is, should I just commit to the extra £3 or £4 to get the steelbook edition (which I will absolutely throw away) or will they get stock of the standard edition back in before Wednesday?

Same here. Had the tab open for over a week now as it was £37, but I was always like, meh, I'll do it tomorrow. Came to do it today and its out of stock

The consensus from reviews seems to be that PES plays a better game. I played the PES demo again just there and although It's good I don't get all the wanking off over it. I picked up PES 16 when it went down in price and was pretty shocked at how prehistoric it still is. Dortmund not even in the game ffs.

Why do people do things like that?

The price of the steelbook standard edition has gone up another £3 since I checked this afternoon, so I'm not going to bother. I won't have time to play it until Sunday night at the earliest anyway - even then, I might go and see the Oasis documentary at the cinema that night. I'll order it at the end of the week and hopefully get it by Monday.

If it comes back into stock tomorrow, I'd appreciate if you'd quote me though! Ha!

What is the difference between Standard and Deluxe Editions? I'll mostly be playing career mode and the journey, not interested in FUT at all. A standard edition should do, right ?
Yeah definitely, the other editions only include additional content for FUT I think.

Not that it's any better, but Dortmund are in this (at the expense of Bayern)

Fecking hell, that's pretty shocking in this day and age. Do you have it? If so do you find the bridge between this and PES really that big gameplay wise to ignore the obvious shortcomings? I'm just not seeing it, having played the demo.

I played the demo and don't find the gameplay that appealing, but that may just be because I've played FIFA since forever. Even if the gameplay was better, I would never go for PES since Online play is so important to me: Seasons, Clubs, etc.

Played The Journey part of the demo. Bagged two goals and two assists, with 21 passes and a passing accuracy of 87%. Played it a few times and that was by far my best performance but I got a piece of negative feedback which said "Being an attacker is about more than just scoring goals. It is about keeping possession in the final third. This is something that needs improvement." Think that's a bit off to say the least! Only a minor issue.

I like what I'm hearing about the full game. Roll on Thursday

Just heard that the Journey only lasts one season and then you get to use his ultimate team card after... What's the point in that? Why not just turn it into a normal player career after? Obviously they can't have the story thing go on forever, but like how NBA 2k has their player career, it was a story mode for a while and then just turned in to a normal player career mode. Surely wouldn't have been that hard to implement... Or are they just saving that for future fifa's as a "new mode" when really it's just fixing half finished modes.

Edit: Or actually apparently it does go to a normal career ... so its fine

Nah, I've had it since 5pm. It comes out at midnight in Hong Kong.
Huh? Where do you live?

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't read your post properly. It's not officially out in HK though, just like the rest of the world except for North America.

But it's out in the stores in HK - me and my cousins all have a copy of it

It was out in Hong Kong on the 27th at midnight. Which is 5PM uk time. I been playing it for the last few hours.

Last year I ordered from the American store. But then I saw people who ordered from the Xbox Hong Kong store that got it earlier on the EA forums. So I decided to order from there plus it's cheaper than American.

It's rather pointless now. But you can keep that in mind for next year and other preorders.

That's weird

Yeah cheers

All or nothin', huh? Surely it'll be worthwhile to give it a go anyway?

Not really, it's pretty scripted apparently

You do some trials, can sign for any prem team, but no matter who you end up on pre season four, get a break due to an injury in the squad, then harry Kane signs and you're shipped out on loan.

Whoever you chose as your club, you rivals will sign your best mate and you are then called back to your squad.

Your grandfather was a good footballer back in his day but never managed to win the FA cup... See where this is going?

Yep, that's right, you get to the FA cup final and who is your opponent? Yep, your clubs rivals with your best mate leading the line for them. Literally nothing you do changes anything apparently.

There is a lot of stuff such as wages, sponsors etc which seems pointless if it's only one season

I honestly can't understand why they don't just launch everything world wide on the same day these days. It's even more mind boggling how America get a football game 2 days before Europe :wenger:

Oh my god, the game won't launch. Says I'm too early, forwards me to the store to see when I can play it and then an error message pops up. feck this shit

Lost my first game on seasons :( Was United against Real Madrid, controlled the whole game, hit post and bar with ibra and rashford, and then he scores with literally last kick of the game. cnuts

At least you have the game! I've been trying for almost two hours now to somehow get access to it here in europe. After a lot of failure, I'm now chatting with my VPN supplier. It seems like it's going nowhere, but atleast I got the chat guy to say that he's a nerd.

Ah man, was really hoping to get started on co-op seaons

Sorry man, I finally tricked my xbox into believing I'm in the US, but I still can't launch the game - it says I'm too early. I chatted with EA and apparently they're getting a lot of these complaints and there's nothing I can do besides wait for like a day.

They could easily add more seasons for Journey via DLC so I wouldn't worry too much about it being 1 season.

I reckon they are waiting to see the reception of the mode.

You say minor issue, but I'm already reading that thinking it sounds exactly like a shittily implemented EA sort of thing that would become annoying quickly and ruin what minimal depth they create.

Played the demo. Meh. Probably the first time in 10 or so years I'm not gonna get FIFA, as at least a back up.

The Journey looks amazingly pants.
