The nations are not obliged to give away their rights. EA could put Iceland in the game but then there would be no real players and the FA logo would be missing (see the German NT in Football Manager for example).
They didn't ask to include the women's team at all and maybe that made a difference in saying no. Basically the chairman said that this company is raking in money every year and they offered us very little and didn't listen to counter-offers and they didn't want to give the rights away.
More news if anyone cares. Chairman said to another outlet that the offer was 2m ISK and they made a deal with Konami so Iceland will be in PES.
Ah, cheers, makes sense. IMO it's right to stand for your rights here, EA's a bitch so everybody who opposes them is my ally.

I got in. Got about 5 or 6 loyalty reward packs. Casillas and Bender were the only decent players out of the lot.
Except for Fifa RTWC 1998 and Fifa 2002. Iceland was also in UEFA Euro 2004 game by EA Sports but I'm not sure if that counts.
Dont play FUT but checked it out and best I got was Koke and Perez from Arsenal.
Koke's got a solid looking card - I imagine he'll go for quite a bit on release. Perez's card doesn't look too bad either.

Anyone know if there's a loyalty bonus (stat boost) for My Career games played like in the last editions?
Tried the demo. Now, I've always preferred PES but one thing I think FIFA did very well in terms of gameplay was the penalties. So I'm surprised they changed the way penalties are done now. Is it still possible to hit a low powerful penalty with the new system? Because I swear the longer I press the shoot button, the higher the ball goes.
EA have clarified, full game will be available for 10 hours in Early Access, not just FUT/Journey like previously predicted. It might be available this evening for pre-download, or tomorrow morning.
10 hours will actually do for the next week. I still got NBA 2K17 and will pick up Forza Horizon 3 tomorrow so an 1.5 hours of FIFA per day will be more than enough. My progress will not carry over from Xbox One to PS4 in online but I'll probably play offline for a bit as well, and might actually pick this up for both consoles this year (Xbox One is turning into a better multiplayer console at my home because of all the free EA Access games: NHL, Madden, PvZ, McIlroy etc., and I often play offline multiplayer with real humans).

They often make these Early Access games available a few hours early. I won't be surprised if it's already there today late evening or early morning tomorrow.

Oh of course, just hoped I'd even get a discard rare gold from the 5 packs I opened. As I said though, it was only for fun as I'm not a big fan of Ultimate Team any more.

Google FIFA 17 web app. Doubt you can trade though (I can't, don't know why), and you won't get access to it unless you are logged in with an account that you've been playing FUT 16 with.
