Gaming FIFA 16

I wouldn't be surprised if clubs/agents were paying EA to bump up the ratings of teams/players. Let's face it, millions of football followers base their assessment of clubs and players on the FIFA games. I bet there are millions of people who end up supporting teams as a result of liking them on FIFA, so there is certainly an incentive from a marketing POV. And that goes for players too...these days, a big part of a player's value to sponsors is based on his social media fan base....if a player can build up a bigger following online because he is rated highly on FIFA then that means more money for the player and his agent.

Overall ratings are silly to look at anyway since a few key stats are far more important than the rest. Rooney's usually one of our highest rated players but I've always found him shit to play with.

I don't really associate Zlatan with skills which is the opposite with Ronaldo
Ronaldo barely bothers anymore. The days of stepovers on the wing are pretty much over. He's all about efficiency.

Zlatan on the other hand still pulls off ridiculous skill moves occasionally.

It's amazing how accurate FIFA has become!

That's true. Sometimes you will find playing with a 75-rated player better than someone well past 80.

I can't believe people get annoyed about FIFA overall ratings.

The only two ratings that are important to most people are acceleration and sprint speed.

So I've just found that top50 list from EA.. here are a few thoughts.

AdM: ruined for Fut, because 2* weak foot is really bad as CAM. Maybe usable for a narrow 4231
Alaba looks strong as feck, only lacking a bit in the physical department, why was he upgraded so much though - he was injured for a long time
Naldo at 85 :wenger: he's gonna have terrible jumping again, will depend on how they make heading work if he's going to be good. But I don't like Defenders with shitty dribbling and passing anyway, and H/M will probably suck too, at least 4* WF will be nice for build up play.
Cazorla finally back at CAM and even got an upgrade, he's going to be absolutely insane with his midget dribbling, 5* WF and 9999 curve
Hummels still no 4* WF :wenger: lucky not to have gotten a downgrade, don't like H/M especially in combination with low pace, but his other stats will probably compensate a lot. Thinking a bit about it, why does he even have H/M? If he's going foward it's almost always with the ball (=player controlled in fifa, no WR necessary to model that) when no one is attacking him during build up.
Schweinsteiger skill stats are still looking pretty good, despite his deserved downgrade, but his pace is getting on a painful level now
Rooney EA really seem to like this guy, M/H is kinda shitty for an attacker, but if they kept his passing stats the same he might still be good, if you choose the right work rates for your other attacking players to compensate
de Bruyne basically a bulkier version of Cazorla, he's going to be insane
Lewandowski 3* Skills.. well feck you very much for ruining Bundesliga's attack options EA, not that 95% of players would've chosen Aubameyang anyway, but still..
Özil no idea why he's still 87 rated, not that it's gonna matter much, since de Bruyne and Cazorla will be so much better anyway..
Fabregas another one of those "hey you got high, ovr rating, great for you - now watch me from the stands while I play with that much lower rated player, because he's much better for the game"
Iniesta 88 Rated? Why?
Silva the big brother of Özil, gonna be watching de Bruyne and Cazorla from the sidelines.
Ibrahimovic another year without 5* skills, another (pace) downgrade, maybe he'll become affordable at a decent price this year
Hazard 89 rated? EA..
Messi not that it's like that I'll ever have him, but the 4* weak foot upgrade is really nice to have.

It's a shame City finally sold Jovetic, he was such a great budget option.

Why on earth did Ozil get a + 1 on his overall, and Fabregas a +2? I also don't think Hazard is worthy of an 89 rating. If Bale is 87 then that's what Hazard should be.

Spencer Owen (youtuber) will be releasing the first FIFA 16 gameplay videos later today. I'll post them on here after I finish work if someone else hasn't already done it. His name on youtube is Spencer FC if you want to keep an eye on it for yourself!

Also, Castro1021 will be streaming FIFA 16 at 6pm GMT.

Whaaat?! What rock have you been living under? If you were to use a 5 star system to rate, he's definitely in the top bracket. His technique is exquisite, and he's a flair player who uses those skills frequently.

Not known yet. Given that he was rated 74 in the last Fifa (he was put down as a LM), I'd guess he'd be rated 79/80 as I remember reading someone had changed Darmian position and his rating moved up.
Yeah think he went up to 78 or 79 as a right back, so he should be 80.

PatrickHDxGaming will also be uploading FIFA 16 videos on YouTube at 8pm today, and he's a United fan so they'll probably include United. I'll post the link later if they are!

EA :wenger:
From what I've Seen from United players/ex United players who were still listed as United..:
De Gea - 86
Valdes - 82

Darmian - 81
Valencia(rm) - 79

Evans - 78
Smalling - 79 :lol::lol:
Jones - 80
Rojo - 81

Shaw - 77 (only 82 pace is a joke)
Blind (cdm) - 80

Schneiderlin - 82
Herrera -81
Schweinsteiger - 86
Fellaini - 78

Memphis - 81
Mata (rm) - 84
Januzaj - 75

Rooney - 86
Hernandez - 80

Pretty fair overall for the most part. Shaw's pace and Smalling's overall is ridiculous, but other then that it's all pretty fair.

I don't play FIFA but i'll give my verdict on some of those ratings.

  • If Neuer is 90 De Gea should be at least 88. I think he had a better season than Neuer and probably on the same level of Neuers goalkeeping ability but i'm sure than is not the general consensus.
  • Smalling should be much higher.
  • Fellani's rating I'm not too shocked about.

Shaw, Smalling and Fellaini are in for upgrades I reckon. Any idea what Martial's overall is?

Nope couldn't find Martial. Agree, though, Shaw, Smalling and Fellaini should definitely be upgraded. Shaw got a +2 compared to last season, but he was underrated to begin with. Same with Herrera really.

Saw Di Maria is an 85, Van persie is an 84, Nani 82 and Falcao 83. EA seem to think that we let go of a bunch of world class players here...

Martial's the only question mark. On 15 he was a 69

Martial is 77 according to http://www.futhead.com/16/players/?&league=16&club=all

85 pace
74 shooting
58 pass
80 dribbling
24 defending
63 physical
Pretty fair. His pace went down by 2 compared to his 69 overall card on Fifa 15. No idea why they'd do that. Probably so he's not too overpowered as those are pretty good stats for a low rated player. 71 strength as well, it's the aggression and stamina dragging the physical rating down.

Not that you can tell from looking but I am going to have a go anyway. It looks shit, except for that George Best goal at the end which did look fantastic to be fair.

OK, so FIFA 12, Rooney was on the cover. Following year City signed a deal to be one of FIFA's "teams".

Average of United First XI:
Fifa 12 - 82.7
Fifa 13 - 83.0
Fifa 14 - 82.3
Fifa 15 - 81.3

So yeah, although the year after City's deal we went up, we have been down the last 2 seasons. Could this year be 3 in a row.

United were much better team in Fifa 12/13 days and they also had Ronaldo.

Smalling is our lowest rated CB?! Shaw should be a bit better than 77 too.

Smalling's problem is he's absolutely awful at everything but defending, physical and pace. That knocks a few points off his overall.

He'll probably be immense in the game, though.

Smalling behind Jones and Rojo...well that's stupid. Shaw should be higher than 77. Blind shouldn't have the same rating as Carrick and Fellaini should be higher. Depay is probably overrated from what I've seen this season. Still not sure whether to get FIFA16 or PES for the first time in 9 years.

His TOTS card will be amazing.

Anyone know if there you'll be able to play co-op seasons locally?

I haven't played Fifa for a couple of years and I've heard that it hasn't featured recently. It might make or break my decision to get a PS4 with my housemate.
