Fergie to let Rooney go?

'The night that cost Wayne £200,000.' Sorry but am I supposed to give a feck?

Absolutely. Rooney is our best player, selling him wouldnt be beneficial. If we want to keep winning trophies, we need to keep the best players and add more to that

He's our best player when he can be arsed, which isn't all that often. After magnificent start to a season he hasn't really been excellent in many games, you can't really have your best player disappear so often.

We'd miss him but it wouldn't be the end of world. I haven't seen Rooney drag us out of shit often enough either, he seems to perform well when the team's on fire and adjust when we're playing poorly.

Hmmm, I'd say the last 2 results have forced their hand somewhat, the club normally keep everything in house but I imagine they are trying to reassure fans more than anything else.

That's the most plausible scenario here, it's a bit surprising, but understandable if there is nothing to this and we just want to keep focused.

Rooney tweeted:

The independent are talking absolute rubbish my future is with Manchester United and the club and I are totally commited to each other

We won't let him go anyway though and even if we would, it'd be damn hard to re-invest that money in the current market.

Well in Wazza

There goes my dream of a Sneijder-Evra frontline.
*weeps*

Is this the first time a bullshit story has been proved false before it was even published?

Possibly yes, I suspect it won't be the last though.

So far Rooney went for dinner and then Colleen couldn't park the car. Looks like he's off.

If only this was RAWK. I would have asked for video evidence :(

the manager and I have no issues and anyone who says different don't know what they are talking about

Saying we are denying any rumours of us letting him go in the summer on Skysports.

Rooney may well be our 'best' player in terms of talent but I seriously doubt he is our most influential. He rarely, or has rarely for tte last 12 months, pulled us out of any shit holes and his form is more up and down than the Rockies!

He's replaceable, just not confident that we would replace him. If he was to go now, we'd be left in a situation whereby we'd need a striker AND a creative midfielder, which isn't going to happen in this window.

Higuain and Modric in the summer, anyone?

"We can assure all Manchester United fans that the manager and the club are committed to Wayne Rooney and Wayne is committed to the manager, also also the club."

Must be genuine - 'commited' is spelt wrongly.

Btw. can someone merge two Rooney threads?

"Any suggestions that Manchester United and Wayne Rooney are to part company is complete nonsense."

Good. Next story will be about Hernandez leaving.

I think the club and Rooney were a bit too quick to deny all the rumours <insert suspicious gif>
