Maybe because it's coming from a reputable newspaper.
That was my first thought , the Independent in not know for being a crappy paper.
Maybe because it's coming from a reputable newspaper.
And it starts..
it would be tempting TBH , But very much depending on the striker
Maybe we've already sold Rooney.
I'm thinking there is that and with the game coming up, perhaps they don't want to entertain any speculation at all, and put it down quickly with a public statement. But then, that is rare, considering the ridiculous amount of stories that run on our players.
If that striker is Messi or Ronaldo then yes otherwise no no and no
No. We should be able to buy one quality player without selling one of our best.Would we want to let Rooney go if that ment that we would buy Modric + a striker ?
Apart from all the times there is.
You can't be a member of the British press without owning a smoke machine.
He's going to City
Norwich City can't afford him. He's going to City
Rumors surrounding Rooney in 2010 were proven right. The same goes for Evra and Vidic. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney wanting out again. It doesn't mean that I'm 100 % sure of it, but it wouldn't surprise me, because he is not committed to Manchester United.

Even if he is sold, you can bet your arse, it wouldn't be to City.
I think its because the paper that's running it, is not the type you'd usually assosciate with transfer BS, with them running a 4 page spread on the story, it could end up being picked up by everyone and gain enough traction to cause a major distraction to us on the field.
I'll start worrying about this when fecking Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll start scoring.

It wouldn't be the first time a reputable newspaper has posted transfer rubbish about us in a time where it could cause distraction, but it's the first time I remeber us addressing something that hasn't even been released yet. I'm not sure what it means to be honest, unless there has been some new revelation or breakdown in their relationship, this story doesn't really make sense.
How many years does he have left on his contract?
If Newcastle can get £35 million for Andy 'average' Carrol, we should be looking at a ridiculous amount for Rooney if we were to sell him.
Why? He was on his way to City when he threw a strop in October 2010
