Fergie to let Rooney go?

Not in the best of form but still the one player we can build a great team around over forthcoming seasons.

I'm thinking there is that and with the game coming up, perhaps they don't want to entertain any speculation at all, and put it down quickly with a public statement. But then, that is rare, considering the ridiculous amount of stories that run on our players.

Indeed. Off the top of my head Welbeck, Rio, Vidic, Nani, Valencia, Pogba and Morrison have been linked with moves away this year. Obviously though the events that have transpired in the week previous with Wayne have influenced our stance on these rumours.

Apart from all the times there is.

You can't be a member of the British press without owning a smoke machine.

Rumors surrounding Rooney in 2010 were proven right. The same goes for Evra and Vidic. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney wanting out again. It doesn't mean that I'm 100 % sure of it, but it wouldn't surprise me, because he is not committed to Manchester United.

Atleast you could've bothered to read the rumors right..It says Fergie to sell Rooney, doesn't mention a desire of Rooney to leave.

And this is the guy's twitter- VIM

If you had posted that 6 months ago I would of laughed , but if I am being honest now I can see why there is doubt.

How many years does he have left on his contract?

If Newcastle can get £35 million for Andy 'average' Carrol, we should be looking at a ridiculous amount for Rooney if we were to sell him.

I think its because the paper that's running it, is not the type you'd usually assosciate with transfer BS, with them running a 4 page spread on the story, it could end up being picked up by everyone and gain enough traction to cause a major distraction to us on the field.

Chelsea press office making mischief in response to the Lamps stories.

Stewart Downing just scored and I saw a pig attempting to jump off a wall earlier while having no visible means of levitation. Plus, it's been really cold. Maybe there's something in this?

Meanwhile Daily Star continue their love in with Giggs

It wouldn't be the first time a reputable newspaper has posted transfer rubbish about us in a time where it could cause distraction, but it's the first time I remeber us addressing something that hasn't even been released yet. I'm not sure what it means to be honest, unless there has been some new revelation or breakdown in their relationship, this story doesn't really make sense.

I'll start worrying about this when fecking Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll start scoring.

People are shocked by this story because........

A story like this has come out in every transfer window for about the last 4 years and even with the statements by both parties, they will continue to get written because muppets in the UK will buy papers based on headlines like these.

Is it true or false? Probably somewhere in the middle. I do firmly believe that there is no smOke without fire, especially where someone with the management of Wayne Rooney is involved!

FWIW, I doubt Rooney will be with us at the start of next season and I expect the majority of the money will not be spent accordingly!

Hmmm, I'd say the last 2 results have forced their hand somewhat, the club normally keep everything in house but I imagine they are trying to reassure fans more than anything else.

Carroll was a freak deal. If Silva goes for £24m and Aguero costs £38m do not expect anything way above £40m for Rooney.

Why? He was on his way to City when he threw a strop in October 2010

Shut up. First of all, he categorically denied that. Secondly, do you actually think Fergie would sell one of his best players to what might be, now our biggest rivals for the domestic title? FYI, a player now whose contract isn't running out anytime soon either. Think before you post.
