Fergie to let Rooney go?

These stories crop up about United every year. We ignore all of them. Why would United and Rooney feel the need to deny it on a Friday evening?

unfortunately the caftards will still question Rooney commitment to the club and will think he is lying from his statement, he leave in the summer etc...

We have every reason to question his committment to the club, considering he once handed in a transfer request.

"kingbob10 Robert Wood
@honigstein By a happy coinsidence, just before a big game no one is now talking about Manchester United's bad run/"

Interesting.

Sky reporting that Utd and Rooney have officially released a statement saying the report is a load of cock!

Interesting.

Who is 'no-one' though? Who would be talking abut our bad run in right now? It's 22:45pm, it's not like this story has interrupted something crucial to anything. I'm struggling to see what affect this would have on anything really, that matters anyway. From the clubs perspective, what do they have to gain from people being momentarily distracted?

Lawton: 'Real problem between SAF & Rooney.'

HE just said that he didn't have any information regarding Fergie letting Rooney leave, but it's just a reaction to the development of bad relations between Rooney and Fergie. What a tit.

A gigantic over-weight, suspiciously human-looking fat fly on the wall apparently.

He's from The Independent, mate.

Correction: He's the drunk guy from The Independent.

If the current trend continues these Rooney sagas will eventually be reduced to a journo pressing the power button on his laptop which triggers a recording of Fergie saying "Don't".

Inevitably the journo still will though.

I don't think he means this specific second in time, people will probably talk about it for a few days at very least - heck it could remain until the end of the season. I read a follow-up tweet after that about potentially losing the City game too. I don't know what the club will gain from this, but it's not out of the question that it might be in favour of Man Utd to have a distraction from the poor performances, although I don't think that it's a clear benefit worth all this hassle.

Yeah, but the point he was making that this is interesting because it could be benefitting us ahead of this big match, which really it doesn't.

Well it appears the story is bollocks now, but for all we know Fergie might see it as a benefit for the mentality of the team going into the game, all the attention on a Rooney leaving United story wouldn't half take the focus away from the rest of the team and poor results. I still don't think this is what happened, but there are possible benefits IMO.

This has all the trademarkss of a typical Phelan Manoeuvre. He's an internet mastermind, and wears a cape.

I agree with gaffs.

Work that one out.

So basically the Independent make up a story and everyone cries bullshit, then Rooney confirms it's bullshit & the same people cry bullshit.

I've a thread about the press being a bunch of barefaced liars in the CE forum, the utter drivel they print day after day is disgraceful, I don't know why anybody believes any of it...
