Fellaini

Fellaini is popping the ball around nicely with good choices. Nothing fancy but getting the ball into good areas ala. Carrick's distribution. He is also good at getting into positions to receieve the ball, on the move alot and offering himself

We need a Cm and Fellaini is available and very good. Overpriced sure, but he fills in a big void so will be worth it

Fellaini playing nice neat football. Could have done with him on Monday. Ed rap this up before the 2nd.

Could have got him for £23 million a few weeks ago, even Moyes didnt want to pay it. So obviously ridiculous. Good player though he is

He can do better than today but even in this match, he looks like controlling things and making right choices.

Premier League is a perfect place for him.

Fellaini and Jelavic falling out. Fellaini did well to react and take the ball after good closing from Barkley

When he plays deep does he still make the occasionally break into the box?

If he were next to Carrick you'd want him to burst forwards occasionally, as Carrick tends to get a nosebleed in the final third.

Alternatively, next to Cleverley you'd want him to imitate Carrick and sit deep. Does he have the discipline to do that role, too?

He's held himself back quite a few times even though they dominated the first 60 minutes

He's made 2 that I can think of this game, but he's in a midfield 3 with Osman and Barkley so theres some cover for him. He really hasnt managed to be an attacking threat this game, even from corners - but thats partly because West Brom are holding him quite a bit and are running the risk of giving away a foul

What really fecking bugged me is that Olsson was all over him on several occasions, so Fellaini gave little niggles back and he is the one who is fouling. Piss poor refereeing.

Barkley has been Everton's standout midfielder.

Their stand out AM.

Almost like comparing a wing-back to a centre-back really.

We need a deep lying midfielder, which as this game demonstrated, a role Fellaini can perform with aplomb.

Watched the last 30 mins of the second half and for me he looked slow, one dimensional and some his passes were quite poor.

He had one fine control and shot, which hit the post but apart from that i wasn't impressed.....when is Fletcher back?

Let's focus on getting a midfielder who can do the 'Carrick' role before we look to improve the AM position.

We showed last year that Cleverley can do a passable job there (and if he gets injured/rotated we have enough players who can do a job), but if Carrick gets injured we are fecked.

We just need to be solid in midfield to compete.. as long as our strikers stay fit/perform.

Jeez, I'm not comparing them. Let's do away with Motm awards too eh?

from last season, im sure we could use his drive, take note of his performance against Yaya , Gerrard and our midfield, we would have some physicality back in mdiflield. IMO he could play in a 2 or 3 midfield partnership. I would be happy with him and another more creative midfielder.
