Fellaini

Not read much this morning but I saw on BBC that he's also said Fellaini/Baines havent let it get to them, so if it was an unsettling tactic it hasn't worked and it will take big money to pry them away.
Everton need to pay the bills. One will go.

So you'd rather get less money for him? Because we're sure as hell not going to get him more as little as was stipulated in the release clause.

Did I say that? Nope.

If he was paid for by his release clause then we would have no reason to be outraged as its a clause the club put in with knowledge that it would probably be leaked but they thought it was a fair price. I think that 23 millions was too, as I'd have him valued at around 25 million.

The outrage was due to 16m being laughably low considering we would make no profit on him, and the Baines bid was the exact same as a month previously.

Id gladly take more money, I don't think anyone wouldn't, but I think that the releaSe clause was around about a fair price.

New tv deal, not shown any signs of selling any players so far. We can afford to squeeze out as much as possible or none at all.
Time will tell on that one. Everton haven't been doing all this talking because they don't want to sell.

Exactly. Apparently Kenwright is "angry, disappointed and hurt" at the bid, which is absurd. This whole thing is simply a tactic designed to get a few extra million added onto the final price.

Obviously it is. Everton has made two statements regarding this bid and both have had "not for sale" missing.

I do think they are acting like tits now. Angry and disappointed at a bid which didn't met their evaluation. Bunch of drama queens.

This could be due to a 'gentlemen's agreement'. I personally think they're bollocks but maybe Kenwright took it to heart. Poor bloke.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has reiterated his desire to keep hold of his best players.

The Spaniard was responding to a question during his Thursday press conference in which he was asked if there was a temptation to boost his own transfer funds by 'cashing in' on some of his big name stars.

The question came after the Club rejected bids for two players from Premier League champions Manchester United last week and Martinez was unequivocal in his response.

He said: "No. There is no temptation. In football, you want to keep your best performers and that's where we are.

"Obviously you always get into a debate when there is a club that matches the valuation of a player. Then you need to make a decision.

"That has never been the case and where we are at is that we want to keep our most influential players and build from that.

"It has been well reported what the approach was. From that point on, we take it as a football compliment and we move on."

Martinez confirmed no further approach from Old Trafford had been made but stressed fans would be kept updated of any breaking developments.

"Everything has been quiet on that front and everything has been as we informed our fans [on Tuesday].

"We're still in the same position we were a few days ago. The concentration now is on West Brom, the opening game of the campaign at Goodison.'

Your reaction would have been different if Moyes had activated his release clause.

I've been thinking, with the shitness of Ed in mind, if we sign Fellaini for less than £30m - then that is a huge achievement equal to England winning the World Cup in Rio

Basically. If you up your bid to a fee which roundabouts matches what we want you can get'em.

Its about the right price if we're desperate to get them and nobody else will do, for some reason that hopefully becomes clear when Fellaini wins PFA player of the year or something. If we go beyond that I think we'll seriously regret it

So apparently, we have now put in an improved offer of 35m + add-ons of a couple million. Took us only a day which shows Woodward is learning well

Probably add-ons of us winning the league or a cup. Carrick and RvP i remembered had that in their agreement sale as well

Was the last bid on Friday? I know Everton announced it on Monday.

If there is another bid i doubt that it would be announced by us today. Probably Sunday or after Saturdays game that we will hear anything.

Its not the add ons that are a problem. I'm sure all our bids would actually have included them. But the fact that it takes our bid for Fellaini over 20 million and most likely nearing or even equalling his buyout clause thats just expired.

Its the team that earns add ons. He could be out injured for 12 months and if the team win the league he'd still have "earned" Everton a nice little present

I'm sure it's not something as basic as that. You can bet there's an amount of appearances that he has to make to earn his addons.

Usually those ones are pretty cheap. Its winning the league and champions league and similar clauses that make up the bulk of add ons in general. Making 40 appearances wouldnt show his worth either, even Hargreaves made 27 and these things never have an expiry date. When his competition is Cleverley and Anderson, he should be making 40 even if he's worse than in midfield for Everton and just stays fit for a couple of seasons.

I think this time any bids accepted or rejected will be kept silent by the clubs. But i would imagine Everton want to do business if Martinez wants to bring his own targets in and needs the funds to do so

Everton should accept straight £35 million and replace them with £20 million for Shaw and £15 million for Cabaye. Would be much better deals

I would like Shaw and Fellaini as a combo, I would see that as good business. I reckon we could get one more excellent season out of Evra then ease someone like Shaw into the first team if Fabio or Buttner do not stake their claim. Fellaini would suit our team more than Cabaye I feel, after watching our first two games a player like him would bring another option our team actually doesn't possess at the moment, which is a target man with strength.

Because for some reason, it seems like we absolutely have to sign Fellaini. Looks like after the Fabregas knock back, a depressed David Moyes has been reading the redcafe transfer forum and in his impressionable state, believed every word about him being our one stop top class midfield maker.

Baines sort of makes sense from the view of, he's the best left back in the league and could possibly become the best in the world. Fellaini on the other hand, none of that applies

Doesn't make much sense - he's 28 and you've got Evra. Will be a sign that Moyes can't transcend his mid-table mentality.
