Fellaini

This isn't the school playground, Kenwright isn't going to phone Woodward and say: You quit dissing me Ed".

It's easier to find a CM than a LB to be fair. It's difficult though, Our attack would be greatly weakened by Baines leaving but so would our defensive game if Fellaini left.

Thanks

The burning questions for me is Fellaini good enough for United in a DM role?

The bid for Fellaini is supposedly £16m and Baines £12m.

I don't really see what the aim is here. Neither seem the type to go on strike and the offer is derisory really. Especially when you've already bid £12m for Baines and had it rejected. It'd take £40m to even make them interested.

Neither of them are really worth 20m so I hope we don't go that far. 30m for the pair would be a good, fair price, but anything more definitely isn't worth it.

£12m is a reasonable fee but it seems a little bit of a WUM if you bid the same fee twice.
It might be £13mil for Baines. Do you know the breakdown of the bid? It's just been assumed the Baines bid is £12mil, right? We've no real knowledge of the valuation put on either player by Manchester United.

Just a tad yeah.......

Some opinions are just plain stupid. I happen to think hes more than good enough for a place in our squad. Fergie, Hodgson, Moyes, Eric Harrison all seem to agree.

Dude from the internet disagrees.

I don't disagree. Perhaps you should read my post again.

Dude from internet fails to read post properly.

Yeah, just because the clause is that level it does not mean its a minimum price that must be paid for the player. If Fellaini hands in a transfer request tomorrow they United would get him for less.

I just can't see Fellaini handing a transfer request...also i can't see us paying more than £20m for him too.

I don't really see what motivation they'd have to lie, particularly. Why would they?
Why would anyone? To make Utd look bad and 'embarrass' them into bidding more? What do they have to gain by telling the media in the first place? They've clarly done it for a reason.

One club have been generous to the other. To whine about Utd is a little classless. I'm not saying they should sell important players cheap, nobody should do that.

Generous? In what way?

That we sold them an academy graduate/squad player who was not even required by the club? Tim Howard, Phil Neville, Kanchelskis all went for fees that indicated their worth. Were United generous in what they paid for Rooney, England's finest player in a generation?

Just not a good argument and a tad arrogant which is disappointing.

Is that what they do in school playgrounds nowadays then?

Do the other kids surround each of those involved whilst they are on the phone yelling FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Left backs are difficult to replace well. If Baines was at a Championship club, he'd be worth £12m. He's fundamental to Everton's attack so to them he's worth upwards of £15m. Probably in this market nearer £18m. The two together are going to cost £40m really.

Everton can confirm that it has received bids from Manchester United for two players. Those bids were immediately rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting.

The Club did not make public these details as it was vital Roberto Martinez’s preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season were not disrupted in anyway.

Director of Communications

From their official website!

Eeks, we've pissed them off badly.

The offer from United would represent a £7mil profit on the initial outlay by Everton. How insulting.

I'm disgusted and appalled that my club would offer to sign footballers for more than what their current club paid for them. This is a sad day for football.

I think they've told the media because they were genuinely shocked at the 'lowballing' that's gone on here. I'd probably be quite angry if I were an Everton fan that United, on this occasion, seem to be trying to unsettle the players as opposed to be presenting Everton with a genuine offer.

I could make Kevin feckin' Kilbane look good enough through a youtube compilation they don't mean shit.

Try and find a good one of Willian, then come back and say that.

It's not an arguement. It's a point that they don't have a case for calling the club classless. Neville, Saha, Gibson all went to Everton for a pittance. With Howard they got on loan first to help them make up their mind. Yes, Utd were generous in what they offered for Rooney. It was a massive fee for an 18 year old.

It is a genuine offer. They are well within their rights to reject it.

Then tell Utd. Everton are clearly playing a game. Is leaking stories to the media, Everton's doing by the way, not as unsettling us anything Utd have done. How did you feel about Arsenal's pursuit of the racist?

I'll reword mine so.

He is good enough for a regular place in our team. As displayed by his continued selection by our new manager and our previous one.

Whats your view on Anderson?

That's far too simplistic a view and you know it. Especially as Cleverley was fit at the back end of last season and often was not picked in favour of Jones.

The simple fact of the matter is you can't on the one hand say that the midfield is poor and needs signings and then continually act like that's not a criticism of Cleverley, he's been the weak link in the midfield and that not in dispute.

I will have to disagree. For now, he isn't good enough to start.

Anderson is a player that we have been far too patient with. I am sure I will get flamed because he has been a regular, pre season, but I believe this is purely because we lacked options.

Anderson wouldn't figure in a Chelsea or a Shitty team, so why on earth we indulge him is beyond me.

Let the flaming begin.

An Arsenal fan criticizing United over lowballing.

and much as much as I sympathise with Everton, I think a statement on OS is a bit too much.

If Everton played their cards right, they could include a couple of our youngsters for a season long loan. But it seems like any good relationship we once had, has vanished.

No, they get out their mobiles and film the punchups to put on YouTube.

To be fair to Al, he regularly sticks the boot into Wenger and co. because of their transfer policy.

Well as in this case, it was the Merseyside club that did all the leaking.

Our bids were a little different because of the whole clause issue. The two cases aren't really comparable.

The only club being classless in this are Everton.
