So you'd rather see caf getting annoyed than your club getting a quality midfielder instead of Fellaini?Great news(Mainly because it annoys people on here).

While I agree with you, Mourinho doesn't. He specifically said that we would have to buy another midfielder if Fellaini were to leave. The big oaf is important to him, that's the problem.
It never even made sense after last summerMourinho cannot complain about the quality of the squad after his fifth transfer window. I don't want to hear bullshit about it not being his team.
He was asking for 150K from other teams apparently. We've given him a bit of security with the 2 year deal. It's not that bad and no real surprise, Mourinho said an agreement was close at the end of April. I just hope we're prioritising other positions now.

He never actually said buy a new midfielder, he said 'find a replacement'. I would consider changing Lingard's position from right winger/#10 to attacking midfielder to be finding a replacement, likewise integrating Pereira into the squad.
If he actually 100% meant we need to spent money on signing a new midfielder to replace Fellaini then he's simply wrong, again. Like when he spent £60m on two CBs, neither of whom are first choice in the position. Or when he spent £40m on replacing our player of the season with Matic, forcing us to spend another £50m on Fred to fix the problems caused by signed Matic. Or when he signed an ageing LW when we already had Martial tearing it up in that position. He has to do much, much better than this if we are to have any chance of closing the gap with City and the elite European teams.
He had no excuse since last summer
He has to win the league or come very close this season. If the start is rough we are in for a ride I think. This is a fecking horrible news as far as I'm concerned. How the feck do we wanna move forward as a club if we keep players that aren't just suited for the highest level of technical performance required. I mean which other serious club with big aspirations would wanna keep and make feel validated a player like Fellaini.
I have nothing against him but our club is a fecking joke at times, spending money on washed up players, injuried, overrated players and keeping for long periods of time players who are technically decent at best if not bad. feck this
I cannot fecking believe Manchester United is bending backwards for Marouane Fellaini
We're not talking about a Ballon d'Or potential nor a world class player ffs, he's made statements that a player who wanted to leave made.
That's true but I think that realistically we need to conduct a lot of business because we have too much meh. In addition, you cannot ignore the money other clubs spent.....we finished second which is a good place to rebuild from. Obviously what hurt people was Europe and yes we were pathetic during that period and afterwards.
Club has lost its self respect. How does Fellaini get a new deal after his public statements
Half the problem is the players him himself has brought in
Doesn't really though does it? It's literally the entire point of negotiations. You negotiate contract to a point that it satisfies both parties.Contract as suggested to 2020 would imply that we gave in to his demands.
This is most probably the case. We obviously need a CB, LB & RW more than a second CM.Fellaini only makes sense if we would be investing the money to properly reinforce the squad in a number of positions or/and if we're adding a top player on ridiculous fees. I wonder if we're witnessing the club reverting to skint mode.
It's win or bust. Coming close won't change anything, he'll have to be sacked if he doesn't win the PL (as any self respecting big club would do anyway, you never know with us )He has to win the league or come very close this season. If the start is rough we are in for a ride I think.
Why would a club pay a fee when they could have got him for free all summer? The only scenario I could think of is a player getting injured at another club and need replacing urgently. What if he signs the new deal and we put him on the market?
Worse than that is how he cannot get them to perform.Half the problem is the players him himself has brought in

Finishing second when you've essentially lost the title in October and when you look at point difference, it's honestly not that great even if it's an improvement on the previous seasonThat's true but I think that realistically we need to conduct a lot of business because we have too much meh. Bizarre. So you'd rather see caf getting annoyed than your club getting a quality midfielder instead of Fellaini?
If this is true why have the club said nothing? Seems weird
They won't go for Fellaini, because he isn't good enough, he is relatively old and has a relatively big contract.
People are being overly dramatic. Have some patience. We don't have citys budget. It's as much the scouts fault as anyones or the boards. The attitude of the club has been poor since Sir Alex retired. For me we are too slow. We play much to safe. We UNDERSPEND. We can't sell players for good money. We move on the wrong players. I would trust jose to know what he's doing.
What if he signs the new deal and we put him on the market? it won't happen but business is business.
