Felipe Anderson

We paid £30m for Anderson and he had played about 20 games!
And we all know how that turned out!

In all honesty I don't like buying Brazilian players I just don't think they fit in well at united or in the premier league. The amount of Brazilians to thrive over a long period in the premiership is very small and most of the big money moves turn out quite badly when it comes to south Americans in general. There have been a few exceptions of course with the most notable being Aguero but I do think we are better off looking at European players.

Then again there isn't much out there at the moment so maybe Anderson will have to do but it just makes me feel slightly uneasy.

He looked a nothing player to me when there were videos of him posted during the summer that were supposed to show off his amazing skills... Which comprised of running in straight lines and run real hard during counter attack. Looked to have the skills, close control and creativity of Ashley Young. I have no idea how these posters could be impressed enough woth said youtube 'skill' compilations of his to post them on here with the intention to prove a point.

Not sure how he is doing now but do not want. He'd be another added on a pile of average attackers that already ply their trade for us and whom we'll have to suffer through several years before he is offloaded again.

I'd rather we were after Candreva myself. Technically v.good, two footed, freekicks, long range strikes, good crossing and very versatile. That's my scouting report.

Nothing serious so far, and the Sun reporting it just confirms that. Not a big fan of him personally, especially for that ridiculous price. Unless he steps it up unexpectedly, he is just another one of these unconsistent and frustrating wingers/forwards. Lazio will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I see they have included the ''United tax'' in the fee for a player who's not even a regular starter for Lazio.

I don't think we're even interested in him. He seems to be the new Gaitan and his agent is probably behind these bullshit stories.

So 4 years from now we are still trying to sign him? Blimey.

Surely a summer signing, and hopefully for a lot less than that, if he is to be the panic then we should have just kept Nani or bring Januzaj back.

He clearly has something, and certainly has the pace we need, but to expect much from him quickly is asking a bit much imo, which is surely the while point of a January signing, if we want instant impact then get Lukaku or Ibra.

Carrello dello sport also reporting tonight that we are trying to sort out a deal for him.
There are players I would prefer but I can see why the club might be desperate to get him in ASAP.

Don't think we'd be able to sign more established players in January. I've seen him play and I'd be happy for him to sign. We don't have anyone like him in the squad.

How,would he compare with pedro or Nani?
Much quicker than both players. Very direct and good with both feet. A bit brainless which leads to inconsistent performances. He currently has issues with his coach. There were Rumours that we had a bid rejected for him in the summer because Lazio had qualified for the CL. I think that upst him a little. His coach made some wired comments about letting agents lead him astray and that he was badly advised. Since then he and the coach haven't seen eye to eye and has not always been in the team this season.

What is he? A winger, midfielder, no10 or striker?

Unless he is a striker, I personally do not see the point, van Gaal hates flair players and he need someone to score goals

We need a winger too. I still don't agree with this notion of Van Gaal hating flair players. He's said it countless times this season that he needs players with speed and skill.

I'd be happy with this tbh although I do have reservations about Brazilian players as I'm not sure they fit in well over here but he is exciting and can make things happen I welcome the singing.

This guy seems like nothing special.
I wouldn't pay more than £10M or get him. Alternatively, get him on loan (if he does well, we can pay the big money being asked).
This guy looks like a bench warmer to me.
In any case, our problems are not going to be sorted by buying 1 player. There is clearly a management/tactical issue. We can barely score 1 goal a game right now and this has to be a tactical issue.

I know nothing about him and it's bothering me.:(

Does it really matter if we pay 10m or 30m? At the end of the day we need attacking reinforcements and a player with genuine flair/pace. I don't think we will get Mane any cheaper, so who else is realistically left that isn't already at a "top club"?. Pay the money and worry about it later. Overpaying a few quid or miss out on the CL next year? I know what I would choose.

Great, another South American who'll want to leave in a few years time.

Not buying it. Louis and Brazilians don't mix well.

Well I am not keen on him to say the least but if we do sign him, hey who knows. He might rip it up like Costa whom the caf never thought was capable of being a top top player. His age suggests he has a chance at least to maybe surprise the top experts on here.

Go to youtube and type "Felipe Anderson vs" to check all of his touches in Lazio games... He basically loses the ball 80% of the time and comes up with a good shot or an assist every now and then. If you thought Di Maria was bad... Looks naff to me.

Inconsistent, not used to the league, overpriced and not all that good, he'd be a waste of £35M in my opinion.
