FC Bayern 17/18 discussion

Did he really? so far I was under the impression that he could have denied the transfer, but didn't.

Guardiola was clearly trying everything to make the board agree to Kroos wage demands, nothing more he could do. We couldn't let him go on a free.
In the end, I think we would've lost him either way to Real imo, he seemed intent to move early on.

He did, Kroos said so himself. Pep was reportedly furious when he was sold. Rummenigge and the others basically didn't think Kroos was as good as the highest paid players in the team and didn't deserve to be paid as much. He didn't like that, as you can imagine. That said, I don't believe he would be there now even if he'd signed that contract. At best, he'd have stayed two more seasons with Pep, imo.

And when I said Bayern is declining people were angry, meh...

Carlo is a massive disappointment so far but Bayern needs to start renewing their team.

Bayern needs to renew its front three. There's just no one available who is able to elevate the team the way Neymar and Mbappe did in Paris.

It's very easy. We don't need to talk about rebuilding or any of that stuff. The squad is fine. Another.. err.. striker, and a better backup GK maybe.

We need to fire Carlo and get in Tuchel. Problem solved.

That's not what happened. Everyone knows we are declining right now. What you said was that " Bayer have been massively declining over some years", which is grade A nonsense.

There's no point talking to someone starting his post like this.

When ancelotti starts one more game with this 3-men midfield crap, i am going on a killing spree.

May I recommend a certain young man by the name of Bieber as your first victim, you'd be a hero as well as a killer.

Who? Everyone could see that the past 2 years. Kinda logical and obvious if the teams core is getting older and older.

You know what? Real for example will decline soon too.

That was I exactly said. Happy some are sharing my view at least. :D

Real still will need time to decline, though, as they have very good young talents now.

I don't care who takes over till the end of the season, but ancelotti needs to go. Now. It's just beyond me what he does. Kahn was spot on when he said that the team had no plan how to defend against the ball. Zero. It's hardly surprising that a front three of James, Muller and lewa are going to struggle. Anyone should expect that, because it happened many times.
Robben and Ribery need to get replaced but both are still able to compete on the highest level. They are not the problem.

They are going through what we went through when all our stars went into decline. Our team was helped by a few that could still get it done and some no name brands that couldn't get it done. They need replacements, and those come with high prices these days and they don't seem willing to pay.

Blaming Pep  if anything holding on to him however improbable would have had them in a much better state. Pompous dickheads.

Hiring Pep ruined Bayern, tell me I'm wrong.
It's funny, many fans thought Pep ruined Bayern and believed that Carlo would take them to the path of glory again. Wonder if baldy is missed in Bavaria

The only question is now which decisions will the board make next year. The past 2 years they did some horrible decisions (hiring Ancelotti, not buying some real quality, Hoeneß back in charge). If they keep it this way, the downfall will continue.

Kroos is a magnificent player and a big blow losing him, him and Modric are running the Real midfield against any team in world football. He is also way more pacier and stronger than one would think, was impressed by him yesterday seeing him live.

You were unstoppable before he joined, with an amazingly effective style of play. He changed it, made you much weaker in Europe and now the squad needs revamped.
oh yes, it's another poster with the myth that Heynckes' Bayern played the whole season as they did in those 2 games against Barça. Love those

Carlo appointment appears to be a really horrible decision. I don't think he's a bad manager overall, but if your team is declining, your players are getting older and you need a rebuild in some areas, Carlo is a terrible choice to appoint. He's terrible in transfer market and has zero personality in front of the board. You only appoint him if you have a full stoked team and you want him to just win. For all the stick Jose and Pep get because of spending there's no doubt these 2 know exactly what they want each summer and how to get proper players. Carlo doesn't.

First step is to sack Carlo, and start buying some younger and talented players in the attack to take over from the old players. You can't be in 2017 and still fully depending on Robben, Ribbery and Muller, whatever good they were. The team needs new blood.

Exactly. It's just baffling. Game after game we have evidence his 4-3-3 does not work. Everytime we play a 4-2-3-1, it works great.

What does Carlo do? He not only play a 4-3-3 but also puts Müller and James as wingers. The two players who are great as supporting attacker but can't go 1v1 at all.
No Robben, or Ribéry, who are not only world class in the position, but also experienced at CL level. Not even Coman who did well recently. It's absolutely mind boggling.

We know that Thiago-Vidal are a great double pivot, but we know that they are not creative enough in a three man midfield.
We've seen that playing both Vidal and Tolisso together is too much of the same and leads to an imbalanced midfield.

We have Boateng. We have Hummels. Both top CBs who have proven to be very effective on the ball too. But hey, let's play Martinez and Süle and have Süle play against the super agile Mbappe.

It's unbelievable.

He needs to go.

Ancelotti isn't the only problem. He won't last much longer though.

Their squad has holes and their best players are aging. No good replacements brought in. Lack of good transfers lately.

A new manager won't fix all of their issues.

Blaming Pep  if anything holding on to him however improbable would have had them in a much better state. Pompous dickheads.
Of course it would. But the German press and many fans were happily shifting the blame to Pep when things weren't working out perfectly. After all, everything he had to do to make us play better was setting up the defense deeper than Pep. Well, today we saw how that turned out.

Yeah I don't know why people think Bayern were a counter-attacking side that season. They were capable of it, but they were a possession team. Only bettered by Barcelona in the possession statistic. They changed their tactics vs Barcelona.

At the stadium?

Sorry, did Bayern win the treble or not? From the outside looking in, Bayern hiring Pep did not move them forward in any way. What progress did he make?
