Fantasy Premier League 22/23

Well, the value is getting 11 players out when some might have 8 or 9. You could do that and have a bench of Ramsdale, Martinelli, Cancelo and Haaland anyway. Bring in one of Foden/Saka/Jesus in 13 and you've got 5 again straight away.
Fairs I guess having 2 or 3 players out injured is a good a reason as any to wildcard.

I don't get the value in wildcarding on week 12. How are you going to get 4 or 5 Arsenal and City players back? I get that it's not nice taking hits or only fielding 9/10 players, but it seems a bit short-term shedding players from the two most inform teams for one game week.

How are you going to get 4 or 5 players back when you have 3?
Doesn't seem an outrageously difficult task does it?

I was working on the assumption that people were wildcarding because Arsenal and City weren't playing and were thus getting rid of them. None of my main players have got serious injuries and the 2 that do I can transfer out now and next week, meaning I don't need to waste a wildcard.

Yep, you're most probably ok, although if you can't see a better reason you've got to use one in the next 5 weeks anyway.

I'll probably use it next week, as my initial plan was simply 3 of their players out with 3 free transfers, but then TAA and Bailey got injured, with Jesus, James and Martial yellow flagged too. But will await more news tomorrow before the deadline, although a Friday game is always gives less time for news to emerge.

Most likely Martinelli, Cancelo and Haaland are the 3 to keep, and I'd suck up a slight loss on Saliba, and Jesus oddly hasn't picked up from his initial 8m so he's an easy out.

Guehi or Webster for bringing in till the WC?

Guehi's fixtures are superb at 4.3m too!

But will they actually keep any cleanies.

If I go through with my planned TAA & Bailey to someone and Zaha, it might be a decision between him and Dalot.

I'm starting to think Salah to Antony was a bit... Hasty

Antony doesn’t look like a big goal scorer at all. I think a few wonder goals have really masked a few weaknesses. Fully expect that to correct itself over the next five games or so.

How come you have to use it? Not sure how it works this year, I assumed it was the usual get a 2nd wild card at new year? Do they not stack?

I also assumed the free transfers during wc was just a bouns as well.

I best go read the rules

Well you don't have to use this wildcard, but you'll lose it if you don't play it pre world Cup.
Then get infinite transfers across the world cup

Thank you, yeah just read the same. That's annoying as I got rid of Martinelli last week in anticipation for his blank fixture when I could have just wc next week

Last year we did a lot of the same stuff.
I kinda feel glad we're not this year :wenger:
I'll admit, this is my worst start to a season in line 6 years. Didn't help that I was in Malaysia for 8 weeks and couldn't focus. But to be fair, even now when I'm back, still doing shit.

Yeah that's a good plan of action - I reckon you're set. The bold three are definitely keepers. I'd be looking at trying to get Foden in post GW12.

Defence has become a bit of a crapshoot. Dier for 5.1 is tempting...

Yep Tottenham look tight, so it's just which defender to get on. Perisic was the glamour, but doesn't seem to play enough.
And out of the rest Dier seems the nailed one. Scored a goal recently too.

Will weigh that up too, but would kill my Zaha punt. Which is one of those dangerous frustrating games waiting his occasional 15 pointers!

Yeah thinking more about Palace defense too as their fixtures are better. Also thinking to just play Neco for now and get the one point or whatever. Dalot is interesting but can't see a clean sheet in the next three games. Maybe after that.

I think I will go Coufal to Guehi tomorrow
Exactly the same for me. Got Coufal on WC exactly for situations like these but he managed to get dropped the moron.

Was considering a Salah/Plange swap for Kane/ Maddison. But now think I need to get rid of James. Was willing to take a -4 but definitely don't want a -8. Salah catching fire midweek has put doubt in my head though.

Although, Plange has obviously been a 4.5 perma sub. So Kane/Maddison would mean I could bench James for a week I suppose.

TAA to Dier - never thought I'd see the day. And I'm actually getting a better defender hehe

Think I'll have to WC next week, although I want to keep Haaland, Cancelo, De Bruyne and Martinelli. Although I'll probably change De Bruyne to Foden just because of the WC.

Perfect. Means you can take a punt on someone like Trossard and keep the funds spare to transfer him to Foden in 13.

was thinking of taking a -4 and doing KBD, Jesus, Diaz OUT. Kane, Maddison, Foden IN.
Played it safe and just did Zaha for Diaz.
Im top of a couple mini leagues and 280k overall so doing very well by my usual standards - will potentially take a -4 next week.

GW9
Coufal in on the WC, gets dropped
Bailey in, gets injured
Mitro in, gets injured

GW10-11
Zouma in for Coufal in GW10, now a doubt for GW11
James a doubt

And it'll likely only get worse with the schedule in the coming weeks!

Makes it interesting I guess. My only blessing is only 1 City/Arsenal asset on my books!

Is that a blessing when you've been missing out on their points (and again potentially this weekend)?

Wildcarded it this week with Arsenal-City not playing next week in mind. should end up with 2 free transfers that week.

Sa

Cancelo
Trippier
Saliba

Rashford
Maddison
Foden
Martinelli

Kane
Haaland
Toney

Ward, Andreas, Williams, Castagne

Will likely transfer our one of Cancelo and/or Foden next week and bring them in pretty much straight after. Kinda banking on City spanking Pool this weekend.

Blimming heck, so maybe not just a marginal "might miss this game" then!?

75% chance likely to play might be doubtful then!!
Yep. I like Doherty this week. Quite a few will miss this news and Doherty has high attacking potential. Also nailed as Emerson is suspended for next 2.

Assuming James is worse than they say, and it seems 50-50 in reports, I have

TAA/James/Bailey injured and Martial probably too.
6 Arsenal/City

Probably looks a good week to do a wildcard even though it's not usually optimal doing it right at the end, especially with City at Anfield.

Who are the absolute nail ons for a wildcard?

@Cutch @CassiusClaymore @Moby
@BeforeKeanetherewasRobson @Dirty Schwein

Maddison, Zaha, Bowen? Any of those?
Kane probably?
Thinking ditching KDB/Jesus/Saliba to leave Martinelli, Cancelo and Haaland.
