Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

so nothing conclusive on Isak ffs. Might as well sell him since next week he has City, but it feels like he'll haul this weekend

All great points and enough to stay away if you don't have him already, but he definitely passes the eye test for me. Best player in the Brighton side along with Mitoma.

It's still a 5.7 player on pens, who's playing well except he might not get to many chances. I think it all has to be held up in contrast to his very cheap price. Can't ask for much more for a 5.7 player. Brighton are looking better this season too. Already taken points off Arsenal and United. His xGI against those two was quite good actually.
Oh, he's a good player, but that doesn't make him a good forward pick in FPL. A midfielder who get's less points for his returns isn't very attractive. You have many players in the same bracket who plays #9 and starts every week. The numbers against us and Arsenal were heavily inflated by two open goal tapins caused by horrible mistakes from oppo defense. His numbers outside those two chances this season is: 0,02 xG/90 and 0,18xA/90, which is outside top 100 in the league. Even incuding them makes his numbers underwhelming 0,49 xGinvolvements/90 which is the 39th best in the league.

Here's some numbers for other forwards so far this season (players with 150 minutes +):

8M +
Haaland (15,2M) - 1,24 xGi/90 (5,00 shots/90)
Watkins (8,9M) - 1,53 xGi/90 (3,11 shots/90)
Isak (8,4M) - 0,51 xGi/90 (2,55 shots/90)
Havertz (8,1M) - 0,74 xGi/90 (2,50 shots/90)

7M+
N Jackson (7,6M) - 0,83 xGi/90 (2,53 shots/90)
Solanke (7,5M) - 0,34 xGi/90 (2,50 shots/90)
Mateta (7,4M) - 0,62 xGi/90 (1,79 shots/90)
Zirkzee (7,0M) - 0,90 xGi/90 (2,51 shots/90)
Darwin + Gakpo not enough minutes

6M+
Cunha (6,5M) - 0,81 xGi/90 (4,05 shots/90)
Wissa (6,1M) - 1,02 xGi/90 (Injured)
Wood (6,1M) - 0,77 xGi/90 (2,69 shots/90)
Muniz (6,0M) - 0,41 xGi/90 (3,81 shots/90)
Honorable mentions:
Duran (6,1M) - 1,03 xGi/90 (not starting)

5M+
Evanilson (5,9M) - 0,90 xGi/90 (3,00 shots/90) (missed pen, probably not on pens anymore)
DCL (5,9M) - 0,50 xGi/90 (1,62 shots/90)
Welbeck (5,7M) - 0,48 xGi/90 (2,59 shots/90)
Pedro (5,7M) - 0,49 xGi/90 (1,69 shots/90)
Vardy (5,7M) - 0,40 xGi/90 (0,81 shots/90)
Delap (5,5M) - 0,32 xGi/90 (1,46 shots/90)
JSL (5,5M) - 0,59 xGi/90 (1,28 shots/90)

If you don't have money ITB - Keep is an option, but DCL who har better fixtures or JSL (still 5-6 tough fixtures ahead of him)/Evanilson (Unal might become an option if he takes Evanilson place) could be places to look for more points.

My point is that Pedro's numbers probably will decrease with his current role in the team and Brightons fixtures after Forrest is the toughest possible.
With the new bonus systems it seems goals arew rewarded much higher than assists and other actions, so goalscorers will get more bonus points this season. That means that from GW6 and on I'll do what I can to play a 3-4-3 with 3 x 8M+ attackers leading the line, unless some cheaper option unravels...

With Bailey dropping and Watkins rising in price tonight I feel my hand is forced to make transfers this week and play WC next week.

Isak and Bailey out Watkins and Mitoma in - Wild card next week.

Flekken (Valdi)
Gvardiol - Porro - Robinson (Faes - Ajer)
Salah (C) - Eze - Mitoma - Rogers - Semenyo
Haaland - Watkins (Muniz)

0,1M ITB

WC next week will then look something like this:

Flekken (Fabi)
Gvardiol - Gabriel - Moreno (Ajer - Faes) (Ajer/Moreno rotates nicely)
Saka - Eze - Mbeumo - Semenyo (Rogers)
Haaland (C) - Isak - Havertz

Thoughts?

Maybe go for a City differential instead of Isak?

Every wildcard next gw will be fairly template it seems. I wildcarded last week and it’s 7-8 of the same players. No Liverpool seems a bit off I think, but I guess rotation is a worry if you dont go for Salah. Trent still is a decent option.

Captained Salah last week over Haaland and immediately it was obvious why that was such a stupid move and vowed never to do it again, so obviously im going Salah captain tomorrow.

More than half the players don’t have Salah. He is a good “differential” captain. I hope they lose 4-3 but Salah scores a hat trick.

Here’s my team lads.

Flekken (Valdi)
Gvardiol Konsa Porro (Aina Faes)
Luis Diaz Palmer Saka Amad ESR
Haven’t Haaland (Pedro)

Can’t make up my mind about - Haaland or Palmer for Captain. - Bench Amad or Pedro. - Bench Gvardiol for Aina? For differential, NFO have defended well so far this season and nobody in my friends or family league has Aina!

Amy suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Start semenyo away to Liverpool or Pedro ?

Also, Andersen v Rico Lewis?

Also have Alison ffs

Is Palmer down to Rashford worth it?
Feel like the former was stuck out right not doing much. I like the form Rashford is in right now and still think West Ham will concede less chances to Chelsea vs Rashford vs Palace.

Im WC for GW6 anyway.

Haven’t gone against Haaland for the captaincy. Is this the week that Salah is preferred. Just think Gabriel and Saliba would choke him to a minimum

I'm in the same dilemma. Rashford should've had few assists as well, if there wasn't brainfart moments from Garna and Zirkzee. It will also leave me with nice ITB amount to improve other positions.

Palmer has a decent fixture and on pens, so my question is why would you do that?

I need to free up money for Salah so I need to make a downgrade somewhere. Rashford looks a better option than Rogers but I need to downgrade from Palmer instead of Gordon for it

Raya
TAA - Porro - Konsa
Palmer (c) - Saka - Jota - ESR - Rogers
Haaland - Wood

Maz - Pedro - Bellis

FT saved again. 3 FTs next GW.

Probably benched the wrong players but it is what it is.

Good position to be in though no Salah this GW might hurt you

Obviously mate

Ah ok fair enough mate. You did not mention that so i was confused if it was a straight swap.

Played Maz over Konsa last second

Yeah if Palmer flops I'll be behind the sofa for the Pool game.
I'm in the same boat as you. Captained him and don't have Salah. Really need that fecking bum to do something against West Ham today.

Hoping for a big showing from Bowen today. Brought him in but I'm not too enthused. We'll see.

Had him tagged as a Mr Reliable, well in the sense that he hits good scores over the course of the season even if he can be a bit streaky and had it in my mind I might want to to get someone with that profile I can sort of put in there and forget about. Him along with a couple of others that are similar in terms of returning points long term - Mbeumo, Gibbs-White so sort of jumped without thinking it through too much.

Also thought I needed to bin off a Liverpool asset in order to bring in Konate for Gvardiol. I didn't. I can't count to 3. I think worry over possible Jota rotation post-internationals even though he wasn't rotated played it's part and I still had that on my brain, plus possibly being pissed off over that early sub last weekend.

Not sure now, especially since only noticing Lopetegui's Sevilla were quite defensive after I made the transfer.

Flekken
TAA, Konate, Porro
Bowen, Eze, ESR, Saka
Haaland, Pedro, Isak

Vald, Robinson, Winks, Barco

Good luck all!

Dude is a non-entity under this new manager. Needs to go next GW.

Jackson in everyone's team next week, followed by 1 goal in 6 weeks.

Chelsea already scored 2 goals with West Ham looking absolutely terrible at the back and this cold fecker is barely involved. What a waste of 10.5m.

I own Sánchez and Palmer. So...expect a 4-1 Chelsea win with Palmer getting 0 goal contributions.

I really like your team for what it’s worth.

Probably my favourite I’ve seen on here.

I have them both too and agree. The way this game is going, West Ham are going to score an absolutely pointless goal right at the end of the game to not even let us enjoy that CS.

I didn’t do any transfers this week, didn’t see the point in losing a free transfer as long as Muniz held his £6m value (means you get back what you paid and at £6.1m wouldn’t have made profit anyway)

So for me I have 2 free transfers one will definitely be Salah -> Saka then I’ll have £3.4m to spend elsewhere.

If I want major changes there is a chance of WC but I just don’t feel I desperately need it.

Tbh it's Palmer who's making me angry with myself. I knew his numbers would decline in Maresca's system but then he played as a #10 and got 3 assists so I caved in. Was of the opinion before the start of the season that Saka is the better option for cheaper, possibly Son too.

Sánchez has already done enough for me with the penalty save + CS in the last game.

I'm probably selling both after this game, though, or at least one of them.
