Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Semenyo or Solanke. Semenyo doesn't really get many returns but does have a decent fixture and Spurs are extremely hot and cold and Chelsea is a tough fixture.

Solanke on fixtures and because he doesn't actually return that often does he?

Obviously could backfire, but does he score more than 6 points very often? Very rarely, whereas all the others you'd say have a higher ceiling.

Thanks lads, Solanke it is. If you guys have him, you might as well play him.

I'm slightly tempted to drop Sanchez for Fabianski but then I remember who fabianski plays for.

Who shall I leave on the bench (don't be a dick and say the name of the player you have).

Rogers (SOH H)
Semenyo (IPS A)
Solanke (CHE H)
Isak (BRE A)
Pedro (LEI A)
It’s a tough call. I think Pedro gets benched cause he has started 3 straight I think. They have too many options for 4 attacking positions so rotation is bound to happen. Solanke will start against Chelsea cause they got no one else. Rodgers is also hit and miss. Like I said yesterday, Villa have a tough couple of weeks coming up so if they are going to rest players it has be to this weekend.

Bound to be rotation this weekend anyway so benching might well end up being moot.
I was considering Winks to Amad for this reason as with Bartolo deadweight and Winks at 25%, I'm down to 1 sub.
But then Amad isn'[t exactly nailed on right now.

Might still do it, and accept he might be a bench option but at least it means I wouldn't have to field Wood away v us, but is a playing sub if I need him.

I've got Sanchez and Hendo.
It's unclear if Sanchez was rested midweek or if they've changed the guard.

Hate Arteta press conferences. Just tell us if Gabriel is playing or not.

For City and Lewis, sounds like Ake and Stones are out, Akanji a maybe. If he's out too they only really have Walker-Dias-Gvardiol-Lewis unless they turn to Simpson-Pusey. Pep sounded quite enthused with how Grealish did in central midifeld after the game v Forest, not so sure Lewis is in contention for that role as of now but who knows with these managers.

This is a good point. Pedro has only returned from injury a few weeks ago too... Might bench him actually.

Will this Merseyside derby go ahead tomorrow with this storm? I think big chance it gets cancelled.

No idea but it has to be at least somewhat possible. Something to keep an eye on.

Weather warning levels can change at any time so could be revised. It changed to red for tomorrow in some parts of Wales ealier on so Cardiff and Newport have already pulled the plug on their games. Still looks like amber for Merseyside.

Amber isn't too common for wind, it's usually for rain or snow which they can deal with (drainage on the pitch, undersoil heating) and games have been off for wind before.

Often it comes from the ground's Safety Officer, who may have concerns about guaranteeing the safety of supporters inside the ground, or from the Safety Advisory Group, who may deem the conditions around or near to the ground to be dangerous upon the advice of the police.

Three of the most recent postponements of Premier League matches because of weather have been for these reasons: Everton v Crystal Palace and Manchester City v Sunderland on 12 February, 2014; and Manchester City v West Ham United on 9 February, 2020.

Salah has 4 single digit returns and 10 double digit returns in 14 games and he is still only owned by 60%. How can people even debate if he is essential?

Solanke. Partly as they’re playing Chelsea (form/rested players), partly as I don’t rate Solanke and partly as I don’t know who JSL is.
He meant JLS

I think it will be fine, the storm is mainly impacting the south west and north/west wales.

Currently on

Sanchez
Virgil timber kerkez
Bruno Palmer Salah saka rogers
Cunha Pedro

Wood, air nouri, van hecke

That bench ok or anyone to put? And who to take out?

Do you prefer Howe's "honest" opinions?

I've no reference points to that really.

Second season FPL player, last year I didn't pay attention to press conferences. Remember having Gordon and Lascelles at times, don't recall them being unexpectedly out for me.

This season I've had Isak who was in poor form when I sold him after week 5. Looks like he missed the next 2 games but I can't remember if Howe was talking about an injury at the time or not.Doesn't matter because Isak wasn't doing it for me and had City away next.

Had Hall for 3 weeks now with no isssues in that regard.

Going to wait close to deadline to do a transfer, as there's gentle whisperings about games maybe being at risk to the high winds. Everton v Liverpool etc.

Would definitely find out on that one pre deadline.

Having good subs and VC will be the key considering everyone who has Salah will captain him

If that game is off, i might shift him to Saka, pre wildcard next week.

Think there's only 2-3 game weeks to use it?

I only have 1 sub as it stands, so it wouldn't be great.

As above, just make sure your VC is set, nothing else to worry about you aren't going to sell Salah if the game is called off tomorrow.

I might have considered doing so, to get another big hitter in this week, pre a wildcard.
But just realised I bought him at 12.9 and he's now 13.3! That's a major hit that!

Sod it, doing Winks (99.9% to go down) to Amad (over 100% up).
That'll do, have the exact 0.5m to do it and takes an absolute deadweight Winks out for an occasional hauler.

Yeah I got in Amad as well for Mbuemo. If not it will be be a change of -0.2 cause one is going up and the other going down.

Hmm unsure who to vice out of Watkins and Bruno, anyone?

Decided to play Solanke/Pedro and benched Rogers in the end simply because Rogers just played a full game and has another mid week fixture so most likely to get benched or taken off early.

Also stuck with Sanchez over Fabianski.

Can't wait to come in here and moan about these two decisions in a few days.

Mbeumo > Semenyo done.

Prefer going cheaper in the end so I can do Pedro > Isak next week. Think Isak + Semenyo is a touch better than Pedro + Bowen (my other main contender for replacing Mbeumo) over the next 7 or 8.

Looks like Isak is about to rise tonight but nevermind. Might've gone Mitoma, hard to seperate him and Semenyo but that would leave 0.1 ITB after the planned Isak move. Better to have some more cash to play with in the future if I think they're close like that.

Stronger winds forecast in Liverpool than in either Newport or Cardiff this afternoon.

Would be mad if it went ahead however the concern tends to be more about the travel risks for supporters which is more of a moot point I guess?!

So it’s postponed, any logic in selling Salah then? I’m afraid I sell him and then they extended the GW to say Tuesday and he still plays
