Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Pedro up top as the main striker and Jimenez benched. That transfer looking pretty good for the time being, even if it was a bit pointless taking a hit for it last GW.

Thanks Solanke for being ill last week when I had 0 on the bench but returning today when I have 9 on the bench you utter, utter twat.

Technically can you have all 4 premiums while holding onto Gabriel as well. 3-4-3 ideally with two 6.0 or less strikers next to Haaland for it to work. Pedro and Evanilson or in that price range is essential and one playing 5.0 mid. I have this lined up for week 18. I have to make 5 transfers to get there in 4 weeks which means I need to take a hit of -4 in one of these weeks.

Interesting! Just seeing how I could make similar. It'a a lot of commitment, not sure it's for me but a fun little team planning exercise. Admire the boldness if you go for it.

Think I'd be on something like this in 18:

Sanchez Fabianski
Colwill Timber Lewis Hall Greaves
Saka Salah Palmer Rogers Dibling
Haaland Pedro Raul

- 0.2 ITB at current prices,
- no hits to get there if rolling until 18
- would have to keep Mbeumo until then to avoid those hits
- kept 0.2 in the budget to cover Mbeumo's ineveitable price drops between now and then
- hopefully Lewis would be starting in City's good run too
- from 19 onwards could re-construct a little. Timber out in 19 to a cheapo defender, upgrade on Rogers, Dibling or a forward in 20 (or double move in 20)

I don't think I have the balls.

Storm Darragh is rolling into the UK right about now.

Most places under yellow wind warnings. One exception is Merseyside where it's worse, amber for Saturday ahead of the derby there.

A few scousers on RAWK speculating that it could be off. Might be nothing and they could just be alarmist, but if I can I'm holding all decisions until Saturday morning now.

It would be about fan safety for those travelling there I'd imagine more than anything if it were to be pulled. Either way, there might be some chaotic football on display all over the country on Saturday.

Tempted to bring in Isak but will have to take a hit and downgrade Bruno. Might stick with Bruno this week with home game and go for Isak and Rashford next week with Isak against Leicester at home. Or can do Isak and 4.5 defender for Wood and Virgil (but want to stick with pool defence for their good run)

Doctor “so Mr Chipper, at what point did you think you might be taking fantasy football too seriously?”

Chipper “hmmmm… probably about the time I started checking weather reports before making transfers”

Is it worth getting Gomez in as a cheap way to the Liverpool defence? I haven't seen their match against Newcastle but it doesn't sound like he played particularly well and he was subbed ahead of Quansah.

I ask because as it stands my best defence this weekend probably features both Greaves and Van den Berg.

 Was actually trying to see what the scousers were predicting as their lineup. The same as didz mentioned above, was checking Gomez v Quansah.

Maybe Quansah is ahead of Gomez after that?

Anyway, they were all banging on about the weather instead!

There’s rumours that he might have been concussed - he went off after being hit in the head.

I’d wait until the conference.

Does anyone know what’s going on with Veltman and when he might be back?

I’ve downgraded Wood to Pedro and upgraded Robinson to Timber.

I'm tempted to do a -4 for Gomez to Saliba. I thought Quansah would never be seen again after Ipswich, but him starting cb the other night makes it look like he will be the one playing in Konate absence.

Missing the deadline was the best move - I was going to draft out Trent & Watkins for Jackson & Quansah (or a 5m).

I now might keep Trent, he reminded me why he's 6.9m/7m! Jackson is still tasty despite the rotation risk. Watkins is different gravy though, capable of ticking along with the odd bigger haul here and there.

Anyone got a WC template team for me to save me the effort?

Need a serious revamp going into the hectic Xmas period !

Between that and Chipper's weather report I'll definitely wait and see. Don't really want to start locking money into the defence if I don't have to anyway.

A bit edgy, but if I had a wildcard then after christmas close to new years Id throw it when Bobb might be back and go fourmium with Amad/Bobb/Joao Pedro+Palmer/Saka/Haaland/Salah. Or just now with Rogers or someone in that mould.

Then split the rest in defence and have an extra defender sub if/when Bobb/Pedro inevitable will be out. Get Quansah 3.9 too if Konate will be injured maybe (as he used to be) + Burn, Lewis, Mazraoui or whatever you can afford.

Decided end the pain this GW and took a couple of hits. Pretty similar base :

Fabi (Flekken)
Dalot, Kerkez, Hall (Faes, SvdB)
Salah, Saka, Palmer, Rogers (Amad)
Haaland (Diff C) , Pedro, JSL

What do you think?

Had to let Gabriel go and have very little wiggleroom, but now finally the big hitters can't hurt me anymore.

No Arsenal/Liverpool defenders could be an issue, the only 2 teams that look like keeping clean sheets, but that's the sacrifice you have to make to get those midfield 3 + Haaland in the team. Other than that it's pretty good.

Sanchez (Hendo)
Saliba Maz, Ait Nouri (Hall, Bartolo)
Salah Palmer ESR Rogers (Winks)
Haaland Cunha Wood

0.5m in bank

Don't want to rush the wildcard with 1 day notice, so thinking Winks to Amad might be a fun punt?

Anything more pressing pre a wildcard next week?

Unless you're thinking of keeping Wood post-wildcard, maybe swap him for Evanilson for one GW? He's on penalties and Ipwich is a decent fixture. Also, that way you can enjoy the United game on Saturday without any Forest players in your team.

I don’t think he’s on penalties?

Last week Kluivert took them. Previously Semenyo has

Yeah he missed one earlier in the season. Kluivert is on pens. Not sure how anyone missed that hat trick of them last weekend
Ireola hinted pre Spurs that it will be tough to take penalties of Kluivert too.

Just took Mbuemo and Lewis out for Kluivert and Mazruaoi for my 2FT.

That enables me to upgrade Bruno to Saka after we play Forrest. Though I do like Bruno - he might tick over to be more value than Saka if he continues in a 10!

Who shall I leave on the bench (don't be a dick and say the name of the player you have).

Rogers (SOH H)
Semenyo (IPS A)
Solanke (CHE H)
Isak (BRE A)
Pedro (LEI A)

Semenyo or Solanke. Semenyo doesn't really get many returns but does have a decent fixture and Spurs are extremely hot and cold and Chelsea is a tough fixture.

Planning a WC around a player who has been out all season seems more than a bit edgy !

I've actually got Salah, Palmer & Haaland already - stuck with Haaland so long that he's actually now a differential but planning to WC and change it up completely

I read the post before seeing who'd written it, but I should have guessed

Solanke on fixtures and because he doesn't actually return that often does he?

Obviously could backfire, but does he score more than 6 points very often? Very rarely, whereas all the others you'd say have a higher ceiling.
