Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

I have to now make a decision. I have two free transfers. I can either roll or finally take out Haaland/ESR for Isak/Saka. But my decisions have been dog shit so will take the advice of anyone in here. Literally anyone

Sounds good to me, I'd do it.

Would expect it to pay off over the course of a few weeks if not immediately. Anything can happen in a single gameweek. Over the course of 6-7 weeks would expect Saka/Isak to come out on top with the way things are going.

More flexibility too. If ESR got injured while holding Haaland you've not much choice at the same sort of price to find a replacement. If either of Saka or Isak did there's a lot.

Only upside in keeping Haaland is that he's almost becoming a differential vs Salah and Palmer should he start banging them in.

 he tapped Nkunku’s goal bound shot into the empty net

Those transfers look good. I need to take out Mbeumo, might go for Semenyo and take out Lewis for Gabriel for another hit this season.

Not the worst thing that's ever happened to an Nkunku shot that was rolling into an empty net...

The question you got to ask yourself is do you want Haaland back week 18. If the answer the no then go ahead. If yes you might want to think twice or least have a clear plan to bring him back.

Done it, thanks.

I know Haaland will find form again and possibly punish me but Isak and Saka should outscore Haaland and ESR plus this will allow me to do Andersen to one of Saliba/Gvardiol/Timber for the following week. That's two improvements (Saka and Saliba/Gvardiol/Timber over ESR and Andersen) and then Isak running into Brentford, Leicester, Ipswich & Villa.

Now watch as Isak gets injured, Saka keeps blanking and the defender I pick gets dropped.

Yes, I thought about this... I would LOVE Haaland for that run in between GW18 and GW22 (Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Brentford, Ipswich)... But you can't have him plus Saka, Palmer & Salah, who have the below in that time:

Saka (Ipswich, Brentford, Brighton, Spurs, Villa)
Palmer (Fulham, Ipswich, Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves)
Salah (Leicester, West Ham, United, Forrest, Brentford)

Most likely, if Haaland looks to be getting back to form, I will drop Saka in the middle there (against Brighton) for Haaland (in for the West Ham game). Will need to try save transfers between now and then :)

Think it's time to focus on defence.

Gabriel Timber Lewis Hall Greaves

Tricky one this. Don't know what's up with Gabriel, hope we get news soon. Lewis dropped so might have to sell him.Was targeting tonight v Forest, Palace next and a few of their other upcoming games with him.

Was all set to do Hall > Gomez before tonight but might have to hold Hall now. Gomez was subbed off for Liverpool, Quansah moved from right back to the middle when Trent came on as far as I can tell. Don't really trust Gomez now.

If selling Lewis I might turn to Maz but Amorim seems to love his early subs!

Gabriel + Timber then Maz/Hall in rotation until United play Newcastle looks ok short term but that pre-supposes Gabriel is fit next game.

I can afford Lewis > Robertson, VVD or any City defender but was hoping to keep it kind of budget. City is more Pep roulette anyway. Can't get any more Arsenal or Chelsea players, maxxed out.

Still got Mbeumo to deal with on top of this.

Suggestions?

I dont think your defence is that much of an issue. Lewis maybe but Hall's about to run into good fixtures so maybe you can navigate around that. If you really want to make a transfer then VVD is probably the best bet from your options. Liverpool usually have good defensive numbers, he nailed on and also a goal threat.

I would personally hip Mbuemo out though, his fixtures turn horrid and his numbers have become absolutely useless.

KDB interests me now. I have 2.0m in the bank exactly to go from Mbuemo to KDB. Should I do it? He isn’t going to play consecutive games is he since he just returned from injury?

Only missed out on 22 points captaining Palmer instead of Salah in this ongoing disaster of a season

Maybe I'll stop trying to be clever now and just captain Salah all the time, forever.

Of course, it was only last week that I finally sold Haaland and brought him in. I'm dead good at this. Ask me anything.

Shot dead by Salah again. Too late to go template so have to take the pain. Can you please slow down, dude.
Just to be 100% sure to have a disaster GW, I left Rogers on the bench....

1M+ places down the ranks

Due to Gabriel & Jackson not playing - I have Stephen’s coming off the bench with -4

My rival at the top of my work league has Ashley Young coming off the bench with 15.

This sums up my game week..

Need something from João Pedro, who comes in for Jackson after he wasn't selected. Wolves are making a pig's ear of their supposed easy fixtures too, with nothing from Cunha again and (thanks to a backline that looks absolutely terrible after being hit with injuries) another 0 for Ait-Nouri.

Captained Palmer over Salah, but more than made up for it via Young's unexpected 15-pointer. It's a shame Everton's next few games could hardly be any worse. But hey, look where following the fixtures got me with the Wolves duo!

Yeah absolute shit show last night. Mini league rival just leapfrogged me by 28 points. Thankfully he's got no players left so I need a haul or 2 from any of Mitoma, Evanilson or Johnson tonight.

Rolling the transfer regardless and certainly need 2 to get rid of these Wolves cnuts in GW18.

Technically you only miss out on 11 points, because Salah captain instead of Palmer would be 36 + 7 (43 total) and now it's 18 + 14 (32 total). I've got the same issue, switched last minute because I read some articles about Soton conceding a lot. To be fair they did concede 5 goals, just a shame it's only the one for Palmer.

Is Daka a possible budget option now?
I could do:
Wissa to Daka
Bruno to Saka

And field a Salah, Palmer, Saka, Haaland Team with zero cash itb.

Raya
Maz Colwill Robinson
Salah Saka Palmer Rogers Amad
Pedro Haaland

Bench: Ait Nouri, Daka, Greaves

Have to say its very tempting...

My wife who has not even looked at her side since GW8 and currently has 5 free transfers could actually go top of our money league tonight.

She has been playing Justin over Gabriel these last few weeks.

Very annoying for players like myself who actually try to put the effort in to win !

To have all 4 premiums yeah!

Yeah, captained Palmer too. Wrong choice, right reasoning in a way.

Ahead of time I too was looking at Southampton's defence v Newcastle's. In the games Southampton conceded more in reality, more on xG, Palmer had more xG than Salah and more xA. He had more shots and shot creating actions was even. After that it's in the hands of the gods.

Even if we take out Palmer's goal as he couldn't miss and it skews his xG, then take out Salah's best chance that he scored from too Palmer was still ahead on all the expected stuff on the night.

Might have known it due to how clinical Salah has been but can't kick myself too much.

Nah indeed, got to focus on process over results with the decision making. Over the course of an entire season you'll have some decisions that look like head scratchers in hindsight but if you consistently stick to it, you should be better off than otherwise.

Yes, Captain Salah this time for me. Might be tempted to cap Watkins if I had him.

The slight concern is Everton's cleanie record. It's only really against bad teams though.

Benching Johnson at the moment as well which I don't like but Rogers has to play. 50/50 on whether to bench Ait Nouri who's shit or Lewis who's also shit and might not play. Actually Brentford will probably score at home against Newcastle so maybe Hall even...

Verbruggen
Lewis Maz Hall
Salah (c) Palmer Rogers Mitoma
Haaland Evanilson Cunha

Fab Johnson Ait Nouri Greaves

I know Everton just had a big win at home but has to be Salah captain this weekend right?
I think I'm going Watkins but still undecided. Wouldn't mind Everton's result yesterday, they had two Wolves OG's and Wolves are awful defensively. Conceded four times against Brentford who could barely create anything last night against Villa who've only kept one CS all season (against Utd) if I'm not mistaken.

Johnson over Rodgers for me any day of the werk, especially with Spurs at home.

Watkins captaincy always burned me last year. I will stick with Salah.

Think I got burned by Watkins once or twice too last season. Up until last night people were saying he was missing a lot as well so there's that. 1 goal in 5 became 2 in 6 with an assist.

Would probably still go Salah if owning Watkins but Southampton is such a great fixture for any team.

Watkins is worse than Palmer. So if Palmer didn’t haul I don’t have much confidence in Watkins. Sure he might score a goal but him getting a hat trick is slim.

True but Johnson will start since it’s a big game while Rodgers/watkins might be rested since it’s a home game against the worst team.
Surely they can't be taking anything for granted? I know Chelsea rotated against Southampton, but they've got two squads of £50m+ players to choose from.

The problem is they got a John Duran sized hole and he needs to start from time to time. Plus they have Leipzig away and Forest away next week. The week after that they got City and Newcastle. All of which they can’t rest their big players. So if at all they are thinking of rest it has to be against So’ton.

Technically can you have all 4 premiums while holding onto Gabriel as well. 3-4-3 ideally with two 6.0 or less strikers next to Haaland for it to work. Pedro and Evanilson or in that price range is essential and one playing 5.0 mid. I have this lined up for week 18. I have to make 5 transfers to get there in 4 weeks which means I need to take a hit of -4 in one of these weeks.
