Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

He's already doing individual training sessions outdoors but not with the team yet. If I'm not mistaken, Slot's latest comments (before the City game) were that Everton next weekend might be an option but Newcastle would come too soon. Given that there's no urgent need to have him back ASAP, my best guess right now would be that he's back for Fulham at home on Dec 14th. Little chance that Kelleher keeps his place if Alisson is fully fit again imo, Slot would only create a hot topic that's unnecessary in such a scenario (similar to Ancelotti with the Courtois narrative late in the season last year).

Alright not much to worry about just yet but I'll need to plan to swap him out. Thanks for the info!

Trying to figure out if a -8 to bring in Saka and Jackson for Haaland and McNeil is worth it (already done Gomez for Konate this week).

What’s the better duo to bring in, Semenyo and Jackson or Mitoma and Cunha?
Can't do Mitoma and Jackson?

Edit: out of posts for the day.
Semenyo and Jackson then, if you can stomach a random YC for Jackson (who's 1 away from suspension)

Who is the best outfield defensive pick from Chelsea? Am considering Colwill as only 4.5 and seems to be nailed.

Why would you want a Chelsea defender?

None of them are much of a goal threat and they don't get many clean sheets.
True that but their fixture run until GW22 looks really good and I think they are improving defensively lately. Could have had more cleansheets if not for fine margins.

Colwill seems best, yes.

I agree that they have an inviting looking run. The 4 lowest goal-scoring teams in their next 7. All away to put a bit of a dampener on it but I have Sanchez in goal and am hopeful for a clean sheet or two.

They also have Brentford at Stamford Bridge who have scored a lot but only at home. Lowest away goalscorers in the entire league with 4.

If absolutely nothing else going on could be worth a punt although we all know how unreliable defenders have been so far in general. Would think of prioritising other positions if they need attention. If you need a defender at that sort of price bracket you could certainly do worse. If a few FTs built up and you just want the spend 1, not an awful shout.

Wood > JP done. Team practically locked in.

Sanchez
Gabriel Timber Lewis
Salah Palmer(c) Saka Mbeumo Rogers
Jackson Cunha

Fabianski Pedro Hall Greaves

Missed Pedro's price rise Sunday night unable to make up my mind. Feel it's a bit sideways, but I do favour him slightly over Wood for a few weeks. 0.6m banked too, can't be bad.

FPL statistics are predicting a Wood price drop in the next couple of hours. I'm doubtful. They've had a lot of false postives for fallers lately. A couple of other price trackers have him nowhere near. Better safe than sorry.

So currently I’m playing 3 at the back with the below midfield and strikers

Bruno - Saka - Salah - Palmer

Cunha - Wood - Pedro

I have rogers on the bench against a porous Brentford. Is there anyone droppable from my starting XI or stick with what I have ? Gut says transfer him in for Wood

Well I just sold Wood to bring in Pedro and still benched him for Rogers. Wood the one I'd bench if it were me but it's not without risk and no doubt others will think differently.

A good portion of the Villa fanbase actually want Rogers benched for this one. Bit of a gamble if Emery is thinking the same. Going with it anyway, Rogers' days are numbered for me. If he doesn't get in my team for this game then Southampton there's no point in having him is my thinking as fixtures then turn for the worse and I can't see him starting for a while. Could just have a 4.5m scrub instead.

opinions on Mbeumo to Bowen? Can't afford Saka, West Ham have really good fixtures and maybe he's a decent punt. Mbeumo was just not threatening at all lately

I have those 7 apart from Jackson over Wood, brought in Amad instead of Mbeumo due to the price rise / falls.

I have enough money in the bank now to do Ait Nouri / Mykolenko to VVD / Gabriel but i doubt I will be able to do that in the next GW due to price changes.

Saka is a bit tempting as captain. He's on fire and Lisandro is suspended, so at some stage of the game he'll be up against whoever comes on for (or even starts ahead of) Shaw. We've already seen the space given in that area when it was Evans at LCB against Ipswich.

It's still probably between Palmer and Jackson for me though.

It’s a differential, especially at home to Forest. Not a bad call. If you’re beyond a million you take risks like this to catch up. But if you already have a good rank I wouldn’t risk it.
I'm on about a million, i agree it's a good chance to make up some ground given most have sold him, City's form is worrying though, think i will just go with him, this season has already been difficult to predict.

Raya (MUN)
Gabriel (MUN), Lewis (NFO), Ait Nouri (eve)
Salah (new)(vc), Palmer (sou)(c), Saka (MUN), Mbuemo (avl), Rogers (BRE)
Cunha (eve), Pedro (ful)

Fabianski (lei), Wissa (avl), Greaves (CRY), Hall (LIV)

1FT, 2.0m in the bank.

Cant really see anything obvious to do here unless yous have any good ideas?

Only removing Lewis but I'd roll with that personally.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Mbeumo out for Mitoma is gonna bite me in the arse immediately this week with the way Villa have been defending. It's happened to me so many times this season already (Gabriel, Palmer, Strand Larsen) that I'm fully expecting it.

Still got 1 FT left myself which was pencilled in to do Wood > Cunha. Feels wrong removing Wood although I wasn't impressed with him or Forest against Ipswich at the weekend and he was lucky to get that 9 pointer. Delap is another that interests me with 3 really good fixtures now including the next 2 at home which are must wins for the tractor boys.

Making that transfer also means I'd be benching Rogers as well. Waiting on the pressers for now.

Is there a reason why nobody has Delap as a budget option? Also, is there any news in regards to how long Isak will be injured?

Speaking just for myself it's because the forward options at a midrange price point are so compelling this year that I'd rather save the cash in other areas.

Raya - Saliba Gvardiol Ait-Nouri - Salah Son Rogers Palmer - JSL Jackson Solanke

Bench: Valdimarsson Amad Greaves THB

I'm satisfied with my team (probably getting Saka for Son and a Liverpool defender for Gvardiol soon, and then save 2 FTs for when I have to get rid of Ait-Nouri and Strand Larsen) but it feels like my season is already over, struggling arouned 4.7m overall rank. I was silly and used up my wildcard after GW1 ( ), and also lost at least 24-28 points from transfers as well since the start of the season.

I have the exact same front 8, and I'm benching Wood, just based on Villa getting a lot more chances than Forest, and I've benched Rogers before and missed points

I think the reason is that there are so many options in that price bracket who plays for better teams:

Strand Larsen
Evanilson
Joao Pedro
Welbeck
Vardy
DCL
Raul
Archer
etc...

Isak might be ready tonight, but will probably then have to play with some pain in his hip.

The first 3 are fine but I will choose Delap over the rest of the options there.

Need some help :

I have no Saka, no Jackson. Really want one or both.

My team is:

Raya

Trent
Gabriel
Lewis/Van der Berg

Mbuemo
Bruno
Salah
Palmer

Watkins
Pedro / Larrson

1FT. I am contemplating rolling this week, as a Bruno (if in 10) is probably as effective as a Saka and they face each other.

Id like Jackson but hes not worth a hit with Larrson facing Everton and Watkins facing Brentford anyway.

Is rolling this week probably a sensible move?

And next week id drop Watkins to Jackson and may be able to upgrade Bruno to Saka..

Getting rid of Mbeumo might be the priority there. Playing further away from goal since Wissa came back, and has one decent fixture in the next nine. Don't really fancy Bruno either away against good sides or potentially in deeper positions as Amorim has experimented with. Unless we get a load of pens of course, but we're probably not going to, are we?

Jackson still has that suspension to come, so bear that in mind if/when you bring him in.
