Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Next week I'm buying Gomez chaps. Konate's out for a while and we are allergic to conceding

I'll pull the trigger on Wood to Cunha tomorrow maybe. Doesn't look like either playing is changing price tonight.

Tricky captaincy choice for this mid week game. 50/50 between Salah and Palmer at mo.

How has Salah not got maximum bonus points there. Goal and an assist but get the same as trent?

Lord knows. The BPS is a bit whacked.

The "winning goal" thing is a factor. 3 extra BPS for Gakpo compared to a normal goal. That one-on-one chance miss big on Salah, -3 for missing a big chance.

Neither player making enough passes to qualify for passing BPS. Bits and pieces for other stuff.

Guessing Trent got a few for passes and tackles, any key passes?

93 points, would have been 97 if not for taking a bad -4 to bring in Timber for 1 point.

Pleased. Up to 64k OR from 145k. Think that's the highest I've ever been - 2nd year playing. Was 80k-odd for one week last season.

Lost 4 points to a mistake, 8 points to stupid transfers I shouldn't have made, and was on 4 points 24 hours ago.

Ended on 82 points all told

Took out Haaland last week so I could get Salah instead. Seems like a good move so far. After weeks of getting 40s I finally had a nice 80+ week again.

Missed the deadline but got 62 with Strand Larsen returning who I would have taken out.

3 FTs for this midweek so need to take a good look at it.

Gotta get Jackson in for Southampton. He was a nuisance against Villa and he's bound to force a load of errors again on Wednesday. Question is do I get rid of Wood when City's defence look so porous, or shift Pedro and pretend I never bought him in the first place? Leaning towards selling Wood due to fixtures.

Yeah it's a weird one isn't it. Who would've ever thought you'd doubt selling a striker for a plum away tie at Manchester City.

I would love Jackson but just can't afford him. So it will be Cunha for me with a plan to make the funds available for him around GW18 when Wolves good run ends.

Anyone else braving out a Haaland captaincy this game week?

Talk me out of Rashford.

Started the season with him and don't think I'm ready to hurt myself again. Or am I?
I was thinking the same, but i don't think now is the best time to bring him in, maybe after the City game? That way you will also get a bigger sample size on whether he has really turned the corner or not.

I think just owning him is enough at the moment with the amount of people selling him. Will wait until City regain some form and he starts scoring before I think about captaining him again. Hard to look past Salah with his form and the fact Liverpool seem to get a pen every game.

He loves scoring in the big games though...

Is Rashford a nailed on starter as a forward(ish) player under Amorim? It's tempting but the fitures are tough and he'd leave me with 0.0 ITB while Amad or Garnacho give me some financial breathing room if I need to make further changes down the line.

I think Rashford will be rotated such as every other forward player during christmas period. (Hojlund, Mount, Garnacho, Zirkzee, Amad). I reckon even Bruno will get start to be rotated a bit during the christmas period. But I consider Rashford myself for Nottinham at home and onwards. Would sell Bruno for him which would allow me to upgrade elswhere.
Good times again to be able to consider double United Attack and don't look like a complete Idiot.

I own Amad since three weeks and he has been an absolute menance returing 25 points in three GW's for 4.9m so far.

With us having two games a week, Amorim has said that he's currently training two squads: one that rests and recovers from the previous game, and one that learns the new training methods ahead of the next game.

Nobody saw Hojlund getting rested after 2 goals and an assist on Thursday but that's what happened.

Rashford and Zirkzee will be rotated out for Garnacho and Hojlund on Wednesday. Amad will probably also be rested. A big indicator is who played the full 90 minutes vs Everton.

Yeah rotation means we're an avoid at the moment.
Thanks guys.

Think I'm going with Mitoma then for my last midfield spot. Have also transferred out Wood for the first time this season for Liam Delap, not sure how I feel about that. But needed some money to bring in Saka, just gonna keep the Saka-Palmer-Salah midfield for the rest of the season unless injuries dictate otherwise.

Question for next game: captain Palmer or Salah?

Sticking with Palmer for this one.

Above all else Southampton's defence is leaky, much worse than Newcastle's. 25 conceded vs 14 makes me lean towards Palmer.

At home Newcastle have let in 5, Southampton 11. Newcastle conceding 2 last time at home vs West Ham is a bit of a worry there but that's still a good record. Played some high-scoring teams at home too - Arsenal, Brighton, Spurs, City.

Now for the geeky stuff.

Free predictors

FPL Review free planner = Palmer 7.0 - 5.9 Salah
Fantasy.sortitoutsi.net = Palmer 6.99 - 6.21 Salah
Fantasy Football Pundit = Palmer 6.6 - 6.0 Salah
FPL Team = Palmer 7.78 - 5.57 Salah (a new one to me, seems a bit out of whack with the others)

Betting odds (Bet365)

Odds converted to raw representative percentages, not taking out built in profit margins a.k.a. 'house edge' or 'overround'. I don't know how!

Anytime goalscorer = Palmer 50% - 44% Salah
At least 1 assist = Palmer 36% - 31% Salah
Clean sheet = Palmer 44% - 33% Salah

Dumb calculation from those odds, not accounting for multiple goals or assists, because again I don't know how = Palmer 6.02 - 5.46 Salah. Forget yellow card potential, can't be bothered.

It’s a differential, especially at home to Forest. Not a bad call. If you’re beyond a million you take risks like this to catch up. But if you already have a good rank I wouldn’t risk it.

I’ve decided to bring in Evanilson over Pedro cause he starts every game, while Pedro could be rested or subbed early cause Brighton have too many options. Also most things go through Evanilson if they score but the same can’t be said for Pedro cause they again they have too many options around him.

Sitting knee deep in sh*t this season, so I'm going to stick with the Yeti over the Egyptian Prince for at least a few more GWs (untill my rank i beyond repair or I've caught up).

Cam off a decent GW and finally got a healthy green arrow.
Got off Mbeumo before the price drop on Saturday and this is my tema right now going into GW14:

Fabianski (Flekken)
Gabriel, Ait-Nouri, Faes (Dalot, SvdB)
Palmer, Saka, Fernandes, Semenyo, Rogers
Haaland(C), Pedro (JSL)

Have a little benching headache between JSL, Rogers, Fernandes. Which of the three do I bench?

Thanks for your thoughts

I'd bench Rogers personally. If/When I bring in Cunha that's who I'm benching anyway. Was rubbish yesterday and wouldn't be surprised if he's benched in the week.

What would you class as a good rank ? ( no Monty Python Life of Brian jokes here please ).

100k, 50k, 10k, less ?

Right now I would say 100k is the new 10k. So everything in the 100k range should be concidered a very good season.

Disagree on Haaland. Apart from Liverpool, Forest has condeded the least goals in the league so far with 13 GA. The last time City scored more than once in the league was Oct 20 against Wolves... If you're picking Haaland as a captain this week it's purely on name brand and because it's City imo. Sure he could erupt for a hattrick at home at any moment but he was comfortably the worst player on the pitch yesterday as well. I didn't even notice he was playing until midway through the second half.

I'm just trying to figure out how some people hit those kind of ranks seasons after season. A few of the FPL sites have legendary manager trackers or similar. The conistency of some is insane, regular top 10k or even better. A few are top 5k more often than not.

If I broke 100k I'd be chuffed. Stretch goal = beat the most cloned team and whatever paid service or content creator they're copying. 919 of the feckers! Can't see it, I'm 39 behind them.

Would pick Wood against City

Yes but Forest are good at home. Not so much away. They will concede and I think this game will be the reemergence of City and Haaland.

I've had Kelleher in the past 4 weeks and he's comfortably outscored my other keeper, Pope, during that time.

Does anyone know when Allison is back and if Kelleher will be out on his ear?

I like this tool. Zero clones for me. A total maverick

He's already doing individual training sessions outdoors but not with the team yet. If I'm not mistaken, Slot's latest comments (before the City game) were that Everton next weekend might be an option but Newcastle would come too soon. Given that there's no urgent need to have him back ASAP, my best guess right now would be that he's back for Fulham at home on Dec 14th. Little chance that Kelleher keeps his place if Alisson is fully fit again imo, Slot would only create a hot topic that's unnecessary in such a scenario (similar to Ancelotti with the Courtois narrative late in the season last year).
